There are some CJS that are gorgeous  but  due to size and the amount of graphics loaded per entry makes it sometimes hard to enjoy or post a comment when the screen doesn't sit still.  Why are City Journalists with the runaway-never-ending scrolling journals not break their uploaded Episodes into Sections.  Either go with the Slide Presentation format or Place sections behind the "Spoiler" buttons with titles above each Spoiler Section.  Either way would make viewing some cjs enjoyable.

 

When trying to comment in some journals, you cant until the screen stops jumping up and down  and fully loading.

 

 

Just a suggestion.

 

 

Example; 3 separate entries loaded on one screen where each entry - one pic graphic loads a multi-slide presentation when clicked.

If there's say, 10 graphics or more, Group them in Sub sections and hide 5 or so under title 1, antogher 5 under section 2, another 5 or so under section 3 and so on... then we can click in segments and you actually can "walk" us through your scrolled presentation with sub headers and gruop of pics that highlights each section......

BUSINESS CONTINUES AT CITY HALL
New Council Members Make Good 1st Impressions

Monday was a very impressive day at city hall as new councilmembers went straight to work putting into motion plans to undo previous council's damages and to implement new ordinances recently passed during the 1956 elections. Councilman Skabetti arrived in District 13 on Sunday and will return on Wednesday , providing his analysis of the situation up there and no doubt go straight to work on resolutions!


EVIDENCE SHIPPED BACK TO PEYTON PLACE
What once was a vibrant and coveted countryside that locals were proud to call home, has become desolate district wide and no one from Peyton or the Island dare venture out there for fear of rumors that this s where the "were wolf" hangs out, living in a brick-sealed off wing at the old Talbott Manor and the fact that three car loads of daring high school kids vanished last summer when they drove out there to camp out one Saturday... .(Click Pics to enlarge)

 

The first shipment of evidence and artifacts collected during the councilman's visit/investigation arrived Saturday at the downtown Post Office. Skabetti decided to stick around in Talbottsville another week to get more evidence recently revealed during his stay at "Talbott's Manor". All the councilman could say was "its a little more unearthing than we realized! Looks like the first investigation back in 1921 was a cover-up. Theres so much more I have learned from the Talbott Dining Hall that must have been obvious to the earlier news teams and PBI....yes, this has GOT to be some kind of cover-up"

In councilman Skabetti's accompanied letter, he said that there were some strange activity captured on film inside Talbott's Manor and will elaborate on these as soon as he returns. The councilman also inserted some ariel snapshots of "even stranger occurrences and some revelations" as he put it in the letter. No one has ever heard of "Collingwood" in the Peyton Place-Stepford Island hall of records and the Four-County-Clerk's office confirmed that there has never been a "Collins" registered in simsus reports, marriage registrations, death certificates or land ownership deeds. Skabetti closes the correspondence with a note that he's scheduled a face to face meeting with the sole heir of the Collins Family at the new compound downhill from old Collingwood. His plans are to see if Mr. Colins could fill in some blank spaces on the family tree diagram for the Talbotts, but now, it appears that the "Unsolved Mysteries" may have their origin even long before the Talbotts! But, who is Phattsimus Bernardo Skabetti Sr.?
Where is he from? What is his family background and most importantly, what is his connection and experience in city government? The Peyton Place Chronicle in partnership with our local news station KPTN Channel 13 News, an investigation into the background of this new councilman. Everyone already know the reputation that goes with the "Skabetti" family name and wonder just how did the councilman win the election? On the other hand, his wasting no time taking on the Talbottsville Mystery and looks like despite the family name - or how did he get votes to win, his current actions are highly appreciated by the residents of District 13.








The city is a buzzed with everyone wanting to know what are in the evidence shipments and who are the Collins. What does Skabetti have marked in these earlier documents that shows evidence of a cover-up and whose names are on the documents?!!!!

Only Time Will Tell! But we have just learned that Gritts Memorial High School was evacuated and parents were contacted to pick their children up across the street

at fellow classmates and friends' homes. The news station copter is hovering over the school now and sent photos of chaos and a forming traffic jam due to the exodus. Ironically, this is the councilman's old school. Anything like this has never happened before until the arrival of those secret Talbott files!

There's some Renegade Embezzlement Going On In Peyton Place Fire Departments!

 

Looks like I've got a problem here.  All of a sudden as of last night 03/06 the game wont keep the Regionalized Fire Department Budget Funded.For SimYear, the budget was at it max and the BEST coverage All of a sudden I noticed The Adviser - "FIre Marshall Bob" saying funds are too low. I checked the city's dashboard and the slide-bar was waaaay down to 0.  I slid it back up and wouldn't stay and bounce right back to zero.

 

i next started deleting fire dpt after fire dpt , was able to slide the value to themax., then, less than 5 min lator "the embezzler" strikes again  Any idea what is zapping ONLY the fire dept funds?.

I think you are right!  There's this "Small Urban Fire Department" that somehow lost its 2-story brownstone type building. Everywhere I plopped it in the game only displayed a redbrick base layer and a yellow banner-like thing-a-ma-bob doohickie  hanging on two poles- looks like where the firehouse entrance used to be.   I tried reinstalling the plugin to get the bldg back but didnt work, so i deleted the plugin. and i'll bedayyyyam.if i created an arsonist-wannabe in town.

 

I readded the plugin but looks like the issue with fire-budget wont go away until i locate each of the firehouse belonging to the orig plugin and bulldoze?

Sadly when I had this issue before, I reinstalled SC4 and redownloaded all the plugins.. In the worst case scenario, I even have to obliterate the city which uses such plugin..

I am going to run this again tonight but heres what I've done":
 
1.  Ive bulldozed some Firehouses that kept losing their funding and plopped new ones, then saved game after 3 or so replacements,
 
2.  repeated this until the full region had coverage where some areas overlapped
 
3.  let the city region run overnight and got some results

• the new plopped firehouses kept their funding
• tiny tiny circumferences are the old fire stations not yet removed

4. going to knock more down and see what happens tonight!
 
 
 
5.  I noticed the Public Saftey Slide for the Global Fire Department FUnd didnt go all the way to zero but a little less than halfway down

• - possibly due to the new stations that kept fund over night
• - and due to old stations still impacted by the plugin removal

I have never seen that fired department problem before. Weird. Try using Mattb325's fire departments. I use them and have never had a problem.

Try demolishing all fire stations.... then plop them again... Make sure too you have all complete plugins.. It might work.

Thanks, i am doing that as we speak, saving as i delete. Until no stations exists, then i will check my plugins folder, befire firing up the city!…. Oh no! I said that "f" word!

Back up a copy with "no" stations"

 

Clear Plugins from any trace of : Small Urban Fire Station

 

Re add Small Urban Fire Station from a zip copy of the original download

 

Give it another try.

I had a look at your spoiler idea to stop the page jumping upwards (due to loading pictures) when posting via quick reply, it's good but you can mitigate this problem by using JPEGs plus if you really need to comment right away use the top 'reply' option. This one has the reply on top and everything else below, so then the page won't jump upwards as the pictures load!

Good idea! I think jmsepe mentioned the jpeg too, and i like the second option youve added about using tge top post. I will give that a try!

Ok, i rolled back to a version of the city before the issue started and all is fine.  Went from 163k to 150k residents and some really cool developed areas.  Oh well. At least Peyton Place wont burn to the ground now.
