Nice work, as usual! I will have to look at these props that you use to piece together a platform eventually - I've always dreamt of having a kit for modular stations at my disposal, but the most recent attempt seems to have died as well. So this might really be the best solution currently.

The only thing you could add IMO would be an overpass / underpass for the Sims to get to the outer platform. Apart from that, everything looks spot on: simple, sleek, and realistic. *:)

All my sims will be 3,008 meters tall

Looking good, as this is about 10% overscaled by my quick calcs (2.2 * %133% ~= 3) if we consider 2m as 'real' scale. 10-20% overscaled seems to be the 'sweet spot' to match the existing body of figure and vehicle props. I've made a few props that, in retrospective, feel too small at true scale, and might redo them at some point.

@pclark06 Nice variety! Are you going to make separate 53' props matching AngryMozart set so we can have a proper Tim Horton's train? (AM set is 110% if i recall correctly).

What are the community's thoughts on batting for hire?

IIRC, it has been done before, but is very rare and in most cases, not embraced by the BATters themselves: many of them will recommend you to donate to some community site and to put your commision as an ordinary request.

Why? I don't have clear answers, but from what I've understand of them, it is because having money involved twists the incentives for contributing to the community: they cannot control what they are doing because it will always be more logical to BAT things you are being paid for, and competition between BATters could slide into agressivity on a small and fragile community with very few members able to do this kind of work.

I guess your best option by now is to put a placeholder on your city (I'm getting some serious @Xyloxadoria vibes from that convention centre) and to hope that a BAT request gets answered positively.

That all makes perfect sense.  And honestly I don't have any real expectation that anyone will pick this up, this thing would be huge and likely pretty difficult especially with it interacting with the water.  Had to ask though.  As far as the community aspect, I would obviously like to see it released to the masses and made in a general enough way where most could find a use for it. Convention centers (and general waterfront structures) are an area where the game really lacks in my opinion.

As far as my own city goes, I already have a convention center that I hodgepodged together with several different buildings.  I'll always have open waterfront for something like this on the rare chance it ever comes along.

I suppose I'll drop something in the BAT Request thread, I just won't hold my breath.  That's where future BATs go to die lol.

@nycsc4, @matias93

I had a similar question some time ago, and it was suggested to me that paying for "bats" might somehow -- possibly -- violate the original SimCity licensing and copyright agreements.  If the copyright owners determined that money was changing hands based on their original gaming system, it could constitute a legal violation.  I'm not a copyright lawyer, but I suppose it is possible.

Of course, any real or imagined legal violations of the copyright could possibly lead to the shutting down of the forum -- GOD FORBID !!

Sounds a bit extreme to me -- but then -- I'm not a lawyer.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

I could make those trucks and trailers. I already made the props (they are available in my mega prop packs) I only have to slap different textures on them and re-render away.

Those tall ships and steamers are amazing! There are far too few tall ships in game and as far as I know, all of them are ships of the line. Merchant vessels would be especially welcome.

A heliport like this one looks like a good idea for someone who needs a new airport/heliport/vertiport but doesn't have enough space to build it. Any plans to give it airport functionality?
