are you also tinkering with glenni's bridges ? a (very) few of them are transit enabled, if I remember right.

Not all of them work with TEs frankly, also bear in mind it's impossible to fully TE these bridges, it's only a connection. But yes, tinkering you could say:

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

@tariely

If I'm not mistaken -- the CARCH fountains WILL "swallow" the lighting effects.

I thought you were sending your fountains to me to get the spout in the right spot ??

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

@Tyberius06 They look gorgeous!! I love how lively they look with all those boats and people around them. The only thing I'm a bit insecure about is the amount of water spray on the falls: it doesn't look like there is enough water for so many clouds, but I don't know how to make them more subtle, so this is a bit of a pointless comment :P

@f3cs Really nice avenue! I guess that's a BRT system because of the bus stop on the middle. Yeah, the roofs don't look like the adequate scale. Maybe you can transition to OWR-5 to reduce the gap, or to scale the bus stop prop with the Model Tweaker to make it look bigger (but that would cause some graphic glitches). The other option is to add some props to make the waiting area to look bigger than the space covered by the roof itself.

@tariely I love your plazas! The EBLT textures are sure a great choice and you have a fantastic sense of symmetry. The ones on the third image make me think on a modular FAR park, and the last one remembers me a lot of the central squares on many towns in southern Chile: huge trees amidst perfectly geometrical paths, dividing patches of well-trimmed grass, with lots of benches and a gazebo for the local musical band, always facing the main church of the city:

@Simmer2 wow!! Just wow! That's really a lot of grain right there! It's definitely way bigger than anything here, but I guess is somewhat normal for countries like Canada. Nevertheless, 2017 looks like was the year of agriculture for SC4, with your fantastic lots, Fred and Frank work and the impressive addon to the relevant mods that Fantozzi lots are! I'll start to feel guilty to use the precious little space of one's region on dull buildings when it could be filled with countryside wonders!

Wonder where the north oriatated RHW starts from the city border towards the interchange as the outbound lanes are connected ?

Drive-U icons are avoiable, by selecting the Thrid button right of Mayor mode and deselecting drive-u !

I think Simmer2 your grain silo lot is still missing something.

Now either there needs to be more industrial props or more variation of the silos.

Here's are some pictures below of the real thing.

1.jpg

3.jpg?i10c=img.resize(height:160)

From what I can see every silo is a little different (the little black bolt/ball things on the roof are always rotated slightly differently per silo).

There is a shelter/building for trucks to drive through and/or park under.

There are larger silos and smaller silos. There is also some kind of railway and/or freight stop with some kind of extraction building/module placed over the tracks.

Then there is a collection of smaller silos connected to this intricate-looking tower (tallest structure on the site) which I assume is full of pipes and pneumatic processes...

Finally all the silos are connected to a roof-mounted conveyor belt rigging/system.

I hope this helps because you are definitely on to something!

@Simmer2

Something very similar to that concept would be quite useful for loading coal onto bulk haul ships -- hint, hint !  *:kitty:

But "Sausage" did hit on one thing -- you need an UN-loading point for trucks and farm harvester wagons -- AND -- you need that shed to load outbound trucks.

I'm just taking it for granted that those rail cars are outbound.

Working on another transit hub (rail/bus/parking/subway) + elevated networks which will enable passengers on one type of network to swap to another and continue their journey.

This is the second of a few of these types of stations. It is based on a building from london's spitalfields

That is really nice.  I like it a lot.

The canal/sea/river/lake picture with the long ship loading boom will not be released (not enough feedback). I created that model just to show that my setup can be modified to accommodate such device.

Even if you  won't release a separate lot with that setup (but that would be better), please, at least release only these props. Maybe some of us could use that loading boom too for custom lotting. And the same is applying on the main building with connecting diagonal shilos, what you showed on the first pictures. I'm wondering what is that long ship? Did you make it, or it's part of a prop pack?

Thanks in advance! :)

I concur with @mattb325. Plus, it pays off IMO to see "feedback" and "response" as more of a long-term affair. To mention a personal example, I have some IRM uploads up my sleeve that consist of a whole phalanx of modularly designed lots - one of them has no less than 16 lots! All made thanks to the author designing his original upload modular.

I wonder if he received much feedback about it back then, probably about ten years ago. Maybe nobody asked him to? Maybe it was him who asked for opinions, but received none? Maybe he just went along with what he felt would be OK? Did he hope for people using his stuff? Was it just the easiest approach for him? I do not, and will never, know. Yet here I am, cherishing what he did and trying to use it to the best effect I'm capable of achieving. He may never see this, never become aware of what I did, and just live on - but he did make a difference. He did something good and useful, only that it didn't show while he was still watching. But it's there, and in this particular case, it will come to the STEX in early 2018.

Talk about tossing a seed onto the soil, seeing nothing grow, moving to a different country and forgetting about your old garden, oblivious to the fact that this patch of soil onto which you used to drop that seed now lies in the shade of a lush tree, and under that tree lies someone who silently praises whomever planted it. *:)

Okay...this feedback is based on 12 years of releasing SC4 custom content and seeing hundreds of custom content makers come and go.

It's simple really:

1) Make the models and files that you want to see in your game because those models and files will be of use to you and give you enjoyment.

2) Share those models from point 1) with the rest of the community.

3) If you've the time or the inclination to do anything else for the community, by all means do it, so long as it primarily fulfills points 1) and 2).

If your modus operandi is anything else, then your star may burn bright for a time as you attempt to please the community or seek approval, but your star will burn all too quickly. *:ohyes:

You are right Matt. It is exactly like you said....because the person to whom I made that huge reply, does not even have the decency to acknowledge the reply.

Lesson learned

I will be re-thinking my strategy from this point on and in the mean time I will take some time off SC4. No more releases until further notice.

Happy holidays everyone!

Nick

Time out might be part of the answer, but I doubt it. *

The person may have had a response planned, but decided that it didn't read right, or, as is often the case when a creator of something says 'X' and not 'Y' stands with their work, it is simply the end of the matter and no further discussion is warranted.

It all goes back to point 1) of making the files that give you enjoyment. From my observations of your work, they remind of dioramas. Lots of little specially crafted vignettes of textures and props designed to enhance the scene for you. The 'you' part is important, which is why it's underlined. That's also when you are at your best - so not wanting to bang on about an Oprah moment of 'being true to yourself' (or whatever her catch phrase is), get back to what you enjoy doing.*:8)

Hey- don't make it personal.

Bottom line is whether you release this lot as it is or make changes to it, I will download it.

You seem uncertain with where to go, I made some pointers. That's it.

Do with your lots as needs to be done.

But again- no need for the insults. :noway:
