Here are a few more pictures for you.  These are from the Bremerhaven map tile.

This one is the industrial zone that supports the docks, repair facilities, and dry dock basins.  On the right are the boiler shops and rail loading docks.  On the extreme left is a storage and maintenance facility for the "Atlantic Fenders" -- the sausage-looking" things scattered around the work yard.  They are mooring cushions for the big ships when moored against a dock or quay.  In the center is the Gun Tube Rifling Shed.  Old gun tubes are brought in on the left and are refurbished inside -- they bored out before receiving new steel jackets, gun tube liners, and, and rifling grooves.  Then they are shipped out on the right side and either sent to a new ship under construction, or go into storage until needed.

 

Below is a picture of SMS Victoria Louise (moored inboard) and SMS Freya (outboard) taking on coal from a tug and lighter.  The warships are "protected cruisers" from 1897.  The paddle tug is a Sophia Class -- a type of tug common to all harbors at the turn of the 20th Century.  The coal lighter is modeled after pictures of the various lighters found in all ports the world over in those days.  Since there are not nearly enough diagonal ship models in the game, we decided to add as many as possible.  The mooring Dolphins, cruisers, lighter and tug are all the talented work of @AP .  In addition to what you see here there will be all sorts of props in our packs -- everything from large battlecruisers down to small boxes and barrels -- and a lot more.

Those are from "Nob's 1905 Naval Harbor" series -- Japanese site. 

This is a classic example of "making do with what's available".  Since I do not have the skill level necessary to make my own models -- I have, over the years, gotten quite creative in using other people's creations to make lots for my own projects.  I do try to give credit to the original creator, but there are so many of them now, that it is becoming difficult to remember where all of them came from. 

I'm sorry I don't have a link for them -- downloaded them may years ago -- struggled with the Japanese language on the site -- etc, etc.  I'm sure someone -- maybe @Tyberius06 -- has a link to the site.  (Can anyone assist with a link ??)

I took the single lot (two buildings) and simply pushed two of them together on a new lot -- added some night lighting -- and then finished the area around the building with custom-made 1x1 lots showing crates, barrels, fork lifts, etc, etc.  "Nob" made a lot of props that can be useful -- but it can be difficult to decipher the Japanese model names in the lot files. 

The paddle tug is based on the British "Eppleton Hall" - 1914 -- and she is the beautiful work of @AP.  He really enjoyed making these paddle tugs and I really enjoy using them.  They are truly small "works of art" and authentic in every detail.  Paddle tugs of this type were in use all over the world in the early decades of the 20th Century -- the last of them being retired in the 1960's.  "AP" is a highly skilled modeler and has graciously gone into collaboration on this project to make so many wonderful scenes possible with his creative and beautiful models.  We will be releasing the paddle tugs with our prop packs when we begin to publish the new CJ.

CATALUNYA ODD BAT´S 2 !

Earlier, I had a odd office bat on a residential zone, today I have another odd bat a supposed medium  R$$$ large residential with a density of a country estate. This isn´t so much a problem as there´s a landmark version, but the growable R$$$, little to frequent poped up. Fortunaly, recognized and done with before it might become a recuring oddity, waisting my building time !

Been slowly working my way downtown on a massive tile (Pop 2.5 million)

I have to tread carefully when the tile is this complex, do too much and the save file will be too big and crash

So am I! But, as far as I know, custom animated sims have never been made. (Spoiler) it is actually one of the future projects I have in mind.

I think most of them came from Maxis. The animation is fairly simple, and doesn't take a Walt Disney. Most are 2-3 cel animations in png format. I imagine transferring them into the game is where the expertise comes in. I can barely see those little guys, so I don't care if they move or not.

There is quite a bit of animated content, but no animated custom sims as far as I know? I've only had a superficial look at Maxis pedestrians and it is definitely possible to expand the set. However it would take some patience to create similar 11-frame sequences of moving humans taken from 8 orientations and then scaled to the various zooms. Not hard in concept, but time-consuming for sure.

Finally the city of Homestead is completed (except for the space reserved for the construction of an RHSR station). But from the suburbs you head to the county and small towns along the coast following Interstate 12. If you are curious here is the link to see the live streaming of Homestead is towards the end a bit of construction and terraforming of the next city
