Realy sad, that he/she wont share it with the Community. Wondering why.

So for me is it all "boring". I can watch it via Google Earth in a better Resolution. Sure, he/she is doing a good Job, but...

you know what i mean.

Thats me, the Crazy German (and my Point of this).

So what have YOU contributed to the BATing community? :)

Maybe it's not intentional, but this definitely sounds insulting to me:

I don't know about City_Slider's previous comments, but finding something "boring" is not insulting. Please let's leave the snowflakes to Santa! *;)

Korver's work is so good that it looks incredible. His skills are simply on another planet, and I've always wondered how he can create so much wonderful custom content so quickly. Having said that, I must say I am also more enthusiastic about models and mods we can all use in the game, so I understand City_Slider's point of view when scrolling all those pretty pictures and I don't think he was offensive in stating it. He was not denying Korver's talent (which is clearly impossible to deny), he was simply sharing his frustration for not being able to use at least a bit of that talent in his own cities.

Just my two cents, guys. I don't like it when people are asked to withdraw their point of view because it might "offend" someone. Let's stay free or die trying!

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom to offend.  There is a very thin line between freedom of speech and offending someone. Let's be polite to each other and keep toxic conversations out of this site. Don't forget that we play for fun here.

I think both versions would be much appreciated  the mid wealth and low wealth have a place in SC4 and since you have already created all these models they should make it into the game     thanks for these beautiful models

And who decides what is offensive and what is not? Offence used to mean calling someone stupid, but now it seems everything is "offensive". Korver did not complain, so why would anyone else complain on his behalf? Sorry, my friend, I will always oppose this snowflake culture of censoring expression because someone might not like it. How about being less sensitive? If I had to demand the censorship of all negative remarks I get in my life, the world would be a quiet place! *;)

And yes, we play for fun - that's why we shouldn't take things so personally. (said by... justforfun!):D

I didn't ask for City_Slider to be censored, banned, or arrested for his speech. I asked him to be a little more considerate because he repeatedly makes the same negative comments about one particular user's work. I cannot roll my eyes hard enough at the idea this is censorship. Good lord.

In other words you asked him to censor himself. *;) And you are not even the user City_Slider was referring to, imagine that?

Perhaps then I should start rolling my eyes at how seriously you guys are taking this, apparently failing to see the emoticons I'm adding for the professionally-offended *:P

I'm off for tea now, so anyone wishing to turn this into nuclear war will have to do it without me :}

To anyone considering replying about this silly subject further...
Let's not be having any wars please (nuclear or otherwise).

We'll draw a line here, thanks!  -CB

Working on a new project , the evolution of the cities of Dimland. From stone age until now.

Missed this at the end of the last page. Looks excellent (as usual) and seems like a really interesting take on Dimland! Would love to hear more on how you're envisioning this. How many iterations of each city are you planning to showcase?

Thank you Barton. Well, I haven't yet thought the details, I 'm in creative phase yet but it would be based on real facts and historical info but in a very pleasant way. Reshaping, improving and renewing existing places and cities is the best part to me. I hope to enjoy it.*:D

Sounds great. I absolutely love this kind of stuff. My dream city journal is doing the same thing, just with a modern city over a shorter timeframe. I'm really excited to see what you come up with.

The method Korver uses is to take aerial photographies and create ground textures with them, so they would only work for an specific place, which doesn't lend itself at all for any other use on the game.

I think, though, that playing with semi-transparent MMPs something similar could be done: we already have semi-transparent water, so some sand shadowing shouldn't be that difficult. Nonetheless, getting those striking shadows might be much more complex, if not outrightly impossible without custom textures, but those are the reasonable limitations of a game from 2003 that doesn't even is in 3D.

So you're saying he lives near all this stuff and  takes shots with a drone...or he's a billionaire with a helicopter, and goes all over the world taking aerial photography to make those superb shots for an 18 year old game with a cult following.  I had it figured that he just had a stack of his dad's National Geographics laying around in his attic. I'd ask him personally, but he doesn't seem like the gregarious type.

The only way us commoners are going to get close to the rare air korver breathes, is with photoshop.

Pretty funny, thought I saw some pictures of PEG Area 52 base had some underground areas.  Guess it's best to put on edge of map to fully see everything, but just lowered the ground.

Can do some Industrial and Military Base all around it
