Can see you've been squeezing out every last drop of potential from the T21s! Love the minimalist MMP style and the seamless texture integration.

I don't know what it is with my Sims.

All I wanted to do is upgrade the road network to a AVE-2. (I've seen it done in lots of nice pictures and I always forget to do it myself). The NIMBY types who live in these victorian houses obviously think they're more important than progress, and when I place the transition next to their houses, I get a hole to the other side of the world.

I'm The Mayor for heavens sake. I shouldn't have to put up with this attitude from my sims, who should resume their previous behavior of idolatrous statue building and worshiping my image.

I haven't seen a bug like this for a really long time, is it something I did or something with the NWM transition piece that I need to be more careful over?

We mayors may be god, but we are not THE God- sometimes He reminds us of our presence.

Nah- classic hole-to-the-centre-of-the-earth bug. Time to call the NAM team.

I swear i've seen this before too... but don't remember what causes it...  however if i recall correctly it is a simple matter of using  the leveling tool to fix it.

@mitsos @Barroco Hispano   I've wanted to layout race tracks for a while and thought I was one of the few. Are there many F1 and other motorsport fans here? I'm curious.

I've thought about this a bit and have considered how to accomplish it, first thinking of using the asphalt sam for street to get the unmarked asphalt but using any transit ruins it as automata is harder to control and the sidewalks etc. Making the correct or close to radius of some turns are not possible.  Using MMPs is a good idea but limited by available mmps. There is also a lack of race track structures/buildings. Maybe the artists of our community are interested in creating different models for a group project?  A coordinated effort to stick to same scale, not repeating structures car models etc.  Track Textures would also need to be created

Forgive my disorganization to expressing these ideas, just wanted to mentioned what I've thought through.

The ideal way to layout a race track is to have two groups of a modular set, a track set and a structures set. A group of lots that cover a variety of track sections. A 2x1 tile straight, 2x3 tile straight, 2x5+ tile straight, 2x6?7? straight start/finish line starting grid lot, 2x2 45 bend, 2x1 opposite side 45 middle (I might be confusing this bit) 4x4 90 bend, ideally larger lot section of actual sectors/corners of real race tracks from around the world. These track lots would receive textures that would need to be created for the track, curbs, offtrack siding.  In creating these textures is where he variety could be created to help with variety like we see in real world tracks. Curbs (typically only seen on curves inside and out, and at times on straights) vary in colors from track to track, some are white and red stripe some red white and green some blue and white or red. Track siding also varies such as grass or dirt or asphalt. Within the tracksiding variation is also the variation of run off areas (area that tries to slow the car if they go off track typically on outside of bends) these are made up of various things like white pebbles, yellow or color sand, varied colored asphalt sometimes with designs. There are at times variety in the actual track asphalt as well but maintaining the same asphalt texture over these lots would allow for easier inter-matching for variety.

All track lots would need to be fully slope friendly to allow layout on slopes. I might be mistaken on lot size but a single width tile would be too small. Lots would need to allow the placement of MMPs.   Dream scenario: If someone can create timed props of race car models to randomly appear (ideally moving a bit possible I believe because of the timed airport runway approach  lights that appear to light in sequence) on specific lots such as a track corner lot or straight. The automata approach I think would require a lot of tech work to layout the oneway traffic route for a specific automata group (like for bus), yeah too much work not likely to find someone with the skill and willingness or time for that.

The second group of lots would be race track structures. Grandstands, Pitlanes and Garages Building, Podium/Award stand. (sometimes all these are combined in one big building) Start/Finish line flag man stand/elevated enclosed box. Specialty and Luxury box viewing building. Track side safety teams including tow vehicles, safety car with light bars, medical cars. Track walls the barriers that keep the cars in track area, usually lined with safety barriers such as tire walls painted in track colors.

To make it all work comes down to a a couple of nice sets of race car models/props, can start simple with model class like F1 open wheel open cockpit with it's aero, LMP series with it's closed wheel closed cockpit and aero, and GT class "regular" race/sports cars with racing livery. If people enjoy making them there are many many others to use for inspiration, copies of real world liveries and new custom creative liveries from our model artists would be cool.

That would be ideal, I wish that I would see something like that you have suggested above. For many years i was working on the idea of building an f1 race track and the time is now. I know that there are many limitations but I ll give it a try anyway. The time is now. Your idea is brilliant. Thank you for your contribution.

Nice!! Can I sugest a "dirtier" or maybe slightly darker texture for the roof? Of course, it already looks awesome and I can't wait to see more of your creations!!

It is always great to see you back, man, but it's even better when you bring something like this

Playing with different textures. What do you think?

I think it's a bit oversaturated for what the standards of the game are (which are extremely unsaturated, as if a layer of dust were over everything). Try this: make the gray background transparent and paste the house image over a screenshot of the game, to see how it blends with other buildings. Then you can use the same image to pick colours used by the other buildings and change them in the model.

Okay, I agree. I tried reworking it. What do you think now?

Looks definitely better, maybe only graying the whites a bit more, assuming those are concrete parts. I would go for even less saturation, but that's just my taste, not something you should necessarily follow.
