. I would like to know what I would need to say/include if I were to release those reskins of Girafe's rolling stock.

You've a couple of ways.

1) You can release just the FSH with the dependency being Girafe's originals for which the textures hold.

but its better if you can release as a clean set so

2) You could ask Girafe (he's still about) if you can release complete reskins (his model + your texture) of his models. Then credit for his permission.

BTW that last diesel is very nice - it has just enough highlights and shadows to look 3d, solid, beefy and not hand drawn. A little color gradient on those carriage roofs (to give the impression of curved) and perhaps ventilation patches/circles will improve the 3dness of them - the bodies are good as is.

HDness on automata is a bit of a furphy - the display of automata is so small that 256x256 textures are often overkill - it will improve text and the like but 128x128 is usually good enough. Same goes for polys - less is better than more as details can be expressed in the texture more easily. Roof junk and pantographs do need extra polys though to look good.

Thank you. I think asking for permission would be the better route to go.

I'm happy with the diesel and the tweaks I've made to it since posting. The carriages i'm alright with, however the way the roofs are mapped wouldn't allow me to add much weathering to them - it's one part of the texture repeated several times across the roof, rather than it being mapped as one thing, so I can't add a gradient across without it going 'stripey'.

I've been working at 512x512 currently for the diesel (and the carriages are a similar size and quality. I haven't scaled it down yet to see what the effect is but I will certainly take that into consideration when I release anything.

Something small again. Bandstand. There is hardly a park in Paris that doesn't have a bandstand. 1x1

I got some fantastic news today as Girafe has very kindly given me permission to use the carriage model with these skins, so work is being done to prepare these for release. I've remapped the roof so I can add gradient to it and I think it has worked out very well.

In addition, I have also created a new set of passenger coaches to go with the Class 33 locomotive, and a few variants for the Class 33 itself. And I've also made the Southern EMU with two different roof textures for some variety. I'm quite pleased with how these have come out. :)

I will probably end up making a dedicated thread for these soon, once i'm ready to release these.

Everything looks extremely good. Really great job......*:thumb:

Awesome work on these British liveries. Would you consider making the GWR (Great Western Railway) as well? Although I'm not sure which skin, since they changed the old dark-purple-ish to a new dark-green-ish colour. But really good work on these!

You can do that with the WaterDepthForMaxAlpha property. It's a value in m, and at this many m below sea level, water becomes completely opaque.
