Will someone find himself who builds everything

Not sure what that means, but OK then!

Re-lotting residentials to reduce population sizes for more realistic cities. A 3x6 logging camp pop:150 becomes a 6x6 barracks. A 1x2 slum house pop:20 gets spread out over 4 houses. A 1x3 tenement pop:93 becomes a housing project 6x3 & 6x6.

More work to be done, but I ripped these straight from 10th ave in Midtown. Planning on doing a diagonal series but I have some geometry to figure out. I want to optomize these so that they can snap together into pre-formed blocks. This style of building is ubiquitous in Manhattan, but IRL many are ortho.

Re-reading your comment made me realize I'm a bit off brief here. I think if we want to realistically create diagonal blocks in Brooklyn we'll have to pull source material from places that are angled that way IRL. Bed Stuy, Crown Heights, all the way out to Brighton Beach are all aligned to this grid. Are there any particular styles you'd particularly want me to capture? There are so many styles of brownstones there. Give me some addresses or street view captures and I'll help you out. I'd love to see what you're aiming for. cheers

These three city blocks are half a mile away from the southern point of Brooklyn Bridge and quarter a mile away from Downtown Brooklyn. The thing is I'm using less than 20 buildings when I recreate strictly w2w brownstone blocks and the thing is the buildings in these three blocks, highlighted in wood, would be more than enough for diagonal city blocks. It should be noted that the city blocks in this Brooklyn area are at a rough grid angle of 45 degrees direction compared with the most of the city blocks in lower Manhattan.

187-195 Amity Street. This is within the red area I highlighted in the first picture.

Also, thanks a lot for your efforts as well! I like the dirtier texture work you do and this is just great for SC4!

NOICE! Would probably make a good 1x1 corner block too!

@WolfZe any interest in doing this? Or are you sticking to northern Germany? Nibelungenbrücke in Regensburg...

The tower wouldn't be a problem. But that the bridge is really functional. As a fake for a canal, I can do that but over water is not my collar size.

Oh yes ... the bridge you are showing is NOT in Regensburg, by the way. The Nibelungen Bridge connects the Rhineland-Palatinate city of Worms across the Rhine with the Hessian cities of Lampertheim and Bürstadt.

@WolfZe

You could make this wide enough to be plopped on either side of the roadway -- and simply use the current Maxis bridges.  Or it could be placed at both ends of the bridge as a "gate".

Looks great, though.  I could make room for something like this! *:thumb:

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

Love the specificity! When I get home from work I'm gonna try to dive into this project. I like the variety of buildings involved :)

@Raymond7cn

I'm not surprised that freaks them out --

Looks like something dark and sinister from Fritz Lang's "Metropolis" - 1927.
