Rezoning to 3x3 will probably resolve this repetition, other 3x3 lots too replicate but there´s some more variation !

WORK IN PROGRESS --

THE JADE BIGHT II

WILHELMSHAVEN WEST:

(Click to make bigger.)

Yo, guys --

Been busy "roughing-in" the basic pan for Wilhelmshaven South -- a sister city, but I've a few more pics from Wilhelmshaven WEST for you.

This is a large mixed-wealth residential area south and east of the central train station and Cathedral Square.  Again, this neighborhood was never in the original plan, but the population demands of the game forced me to create more housing.  This eventually grew into the largest neighborhood in the city and holds approximately 80,000 Sims -- about 25% of the total population.

LY9kHWp.jpg

zNKaiTA.jpg

A closer shot of the first area that was developed.  Little did I know what would come later.  The units are packed rather tightly, but there are trees and park paths to open it up to air and sunlight -- and all well lighted for evening strolls.

5YpuWsg.jpg

JJjLJTM.jpg

Over on the west end, I threw in a business park for high tech offices to help cut down on the commute times.

UZsK92m.jpg

uI5N4UU.jpg

This is a view of a "central park" feature that runs down the center of the main neighborhood.  Even heavily built-up areas can benefit from parks large enough to provide a bit of nature -- and possibly a little peace.

HlQNhbX.jpg

Finally -- this is a small experiment with some different uses for ground cover.  I was looking for something besides plain old grass, and thought this might be OK.  I'm going to try it on a larger scale in my next city.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

@f3cs Hi!

As I see on the third picture you're using Frogface's Estacao da Luz station, but with the old texture. Rivit made a patch, but I'm not sure if it's compatible with the normal RRW skin or only with the reskin, but I guess it worths a try. :)

Nice pictures anyway! Thanks for sharing them.

While I'm never fully done working on transportation networks, this city is pretty much done. Time for zoning and services, then a city will sprout from the ground!

Yo, Guys and Gals --

I AM IN NEED OF OPINIONS AND SUGGESTIONS --

Here are three pictures of a small stretch of shoreline landscaping.  I'm trying out a new style -- going for that "rocky" look on this part.

Let me know what you think -- PLEASE!

...Work In Progress...

Started work on a medium-sized city located in Northern California known as Beacon Hills. The CBD will be moderately sized surrounded by suburban sprawl, and hilly slightly mountainous areas.

In the first pic I present the southern mountains that offer not only hiking trails but also an escape from everyday city life...and in the second pic my work so far on downtown Beacon Hills as of now the CenturyLink Tower is the city's tallest building.

@Dreadnought

Hi!

I realy like these pictures, the rocky shoreline is nice, I specially like those little rocky islands with a couple of trees, and like the pedmalls by the wall (where did you get that wall set with that green fence? I recognise the stairs, those are I think @SimCoug's creations, but dont't know about the walls...). And I'm also curious about that two kind of w2w building on the #1 picture. I think I have them, but I'm not sure what are those...

Thanks to share these! :)

@Tyberius06

Yo, Tyberius --

Thanx VERY much for the feedback on the shoreline.  This is my first attempt at simulating a really rocky beach and, frankly, I'm struggling with it.  Being in uncertain territory, and keeping in mind that this is MASSIVELY labor intensive -- the positive comment encourages me to carry on and work a bit harder to get better at it.  Thanx, again ! *:thumb:

Yes -- those are "SimCoug's" transit enabled stairs -- for which I am indebted to him, since I have no skills at TE work.  They work very well with the TE pedmalls.  Besides which, they are nice stairs. *:kitty:

The walls are my custom "fiddling".  The base set is from "Mas71" and I simply went into Lot Editor and substituted a stock sandstone base texture with a fence prop from one of the "Debussyman" lots.  I think it was one of his palatial mansion types -- the prop says something like "FraContra" -- ??  Check in your LOT EDITOR for fences and it will likely come up if you have a bunch of Debussyman's stuff.

The buildings are a multiple arrangement of the "MS Jubiler" lots --  they seemed to be perfect as a shopping venue in a marina area.
