I've pretty much wrapped up the staircase set...

There are two sets - one that requires no dependencies and one that requires the CP mega props vol1, which you can see below:

StairwayCPMegaPropsLots.jpg

If you would like to try these out ahead of time, check out my lot thread over at SimPeg. There's a link to download the set.

I'll get these up on the STEX at some point, but writing readme's and a few extra testing sessions need to happen first.

Those staircases look absolutely fantastic! Now I can finally break up my monotonous embankment sections and build some nice tiered downtown plazas.

45 minutes for this one. Think this one could be a nice as an apartment block too. I'm absolutely convinced this is the texturing/prop scheme I should've started with for my Maxis Enhancement Series.

Hmm... the overall look is very good as usual, but I'd like to mention two thoughts. The first one is that you're using high-wealth grass. This works fine for what you are doing, but do you have any plans for medium or low wealth? The problem is that some BSC textures are only available as a high-wealth version, and if you want to offer lots in all three wealth levels AND keep a halfways coherent look between these, this is something you may want to think through thoroughly before you reach a point where going back would be too much hassle. That's a general thought relating to the entire concept. Then again, of course I don't know how far you would like to take your concept.

The second thought is just a minor detail and only related to this particular lot: I think there's too little space between the buildings. Depending on where you live, work, you could amost hand a sandwich to someone living/working in the room directly across the gap. :D This would make the rooms in the lower floors extremely poorly lit. IMO it would be better either to push the buildings together so that they look like one building, or to leave a bigger gap.

...As you can see, I messed with various elevations a lot.

Looking good!

On the last picture, is that a Tram-in-Avenue Tunnel? How did you make that?  :???:

The new metropolis I'm working on building on the southern tip of the (wonderful!) Humboldt Map submitted to the STEX a little while back. So far all I have is this medium/high density coastal development.

Yeah, just ignore the Software Mode... ;)

I absolutely loved how you had the elevated (heavy) rail bridge directly cross roads the second it hit land. That really makes it look great! Keep up the amazing work!!

It's actually just 2 lots plopped on the slope on each side. They are bus stops/FLUPs for Tram-in-Ave. Here's a link:

Since the popularity of the monorail in my city is somewhat lacking I'm going to demolish some of my monorail-network. The monorail in the picture below is going to be demolished as well. I've also made some process with developing a new zone for offices (at the left side in the image). This new zone is not really part of the city at this moment. The avenue and the monorail are partly the problem. I'm planning on fixing that by building squares and perhaps placing one or two skyscrapers. Some space at the right side of the avenue should be demolished as well in order to get nice urban development. In the future the undeveloped area in this image should be zoned as well. Whether this should be reserved for offices or residential development is not clear yet.

They're from one of Glenni's packs, although it's worth noting that I relotted them so the lots from the download will be pretty different looking.

I'm currently building a European style capital city.  I have not yet decided on a final name for it.  "Capital City" is just the working name for the city project.

I just finished a renovation and modern revamping of my Vista Del Mar Capistrano Beach area. I switched out some transportation items and grew and plopped some new buildings. Before and after picks are below:

Kinda reminds me of NYC.

Some GLR and passenger rail (which turns into a subway network) is visible at the bottom.

Once again, ignore the Software Mode... ;)

More progress on the airport. Having multiple taxiways actually built makes a huge difference.

thrfeZT.jpg

To cover up that unsightly grass on those two protruding ILS glideslope jetty's, I planted some of Xannepan's terrain brushes to complement the rock walls.

fxcaHJf.jpg

And to test the spacing of the taxiways, I am using Xonedl's C-5's as a happy medium for large birds like the 747 and A380. It's an amazing model and I might place a few at this airfield once I figure out the portion to the west of the fighter ramp! Spencer Air Force Base could always use a few extra transport jets.

Airman15,

Well I still have a lot to learn! Your airport is looking really good!

Alejandro24,

I'm not to sure, but when I was building my first airport I could find a good guide. A search on YouTube might bring up the odd video, but I'm not too sure! Good luck in your airport building! :golly:

Great airport Airman!

...

I'm not sure what I'd do without all of the great stuff the NYBT has put out.

Normally I don't like skyscraper jungles, but when the city has a certain theme going it seems alright to me.

There are several tutorials on YouTube that show the basics of building an airport, but it's really up to the imagination of the builder as far as the planning goes. I'm drawing ideas from other airports made in SimCity and even from real airports on Google Maps, like San Francisco Intl.

For this particular airport, there are several rules i'm keeping in mind as I work:

-Diagonal turns and exits are to be used for allowing aircraft to choose between different taxiways.

-Add redundant taxiways, as this airport is going to be handing multiple AC at a time.

-A380's have their own devoted taxiways and paths so they don't clip other aircraft going to and from the gates. (Remember the A380 has an 80m wingspan and that translates to 5 tiles wide).

-I use avenues to plan out where the taxiways out, as they are the same width. Plus they can be changes easily if needed.

But if you would like a custom airport and don't want to build it up tile by tile, I would recommend the

So I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. I'm working a region that I want to fully develop and I think it will be fun to share as I go.

Any thoughts are welcome (but I may ignore your options, fair warning).

This is my region, Grand Chaos.
