What I've been doing as "retrofitting" to older cities built several years back. This city was supposed to be the crown jewel of my region but it turned out kinda ugly.

 

 

Looks fair enough. Suddenly, citywide blackout! Only a few backup generators stand.

From what I can tell, that glitch happens when the surface you are working on isn't completely level. Others are probably more capable of explaining why it happens. But when I level the area I'm working in, it solves the problem.

The central area of my biggest and most important city, Sphinx.

I'm working on it for a few years now and I've completely destroyed it a couple of times as well.

It's still unfinished and I think my next move will be to thin out that skyscraper forest, but I don't know what to put there yet because I don't want endless repetition of 2x2 W2W buildings.

There are still a lot of open spaces and the historic downtown needs more life, like markets and sidewalk cafes.

I like your use of parks and greenery in your city. It's a wonderful blend of skyscrapers, old town and sports/entertainment. This city has a wonderful feel and personality to it. Clearly would be a wonderful place to live. I enjoy every detail and nuance of this city. It truly seems to have a cocktail of fun, history and function. I do also rather enjoy your use of the canal and your building placement overall is spectacular.

OMG the ordeal...

2 days ago - night light refuse to work, re-re-re-re-re.... render and keep trying.

yesterday - finally it worked, proceed to lotting.

morning - finish adjust parameters & time to send it out the door... wait, fuuuu! one texture screwed by 3DMax...

noon - re-re-... render after night light refuse to work yet again.

afternoon - looks like I finally reach the finish line... wait, why is the light kinda dim? Fuuuuu! Forgot the [GLARE] button!!!

evening - night light refuse to work for one of lot (it divided into 2)... oh goat why... 

Re-rendering right now for the 9725th time... Frustration level 1,301,123,469... 

 

 

Finalizing stuff for upload now, I hope there is no more mistake. My frequent sudden memory lost just not helping...
