About This File

WMP Causeways v2.0 (props by Murimk, bixel; lotting by DocRorlach)

Lot Details and Information can be found in the readme. Read it.

Dependencies:

To ensure the proper functionality, make sure the files mentioned below are installed in the plugins folder.

WMP Dependencies:

External Dependencies:

Installation: Unzip the whole bundle, or COPY the "WMP" folder from the *.zip into your plugin folder. You don't need to keep the "_Documents" folder. To uninstall, bulldoze any instance of this lot in your city, then remove the file(s) from your Plugins.

If you use rivit's Urban Tar-sealed Street Mod for your streets, you will need the z_WMP Causeway RVTStreet.dat add-on. You can find this file in the "_Documents" folder and you need to copy it into the Plugins\WMP\Textures folder, to LOAD AFTER the WMP Mega Textures v1.02.dat.

For further details, please read the provided readme AND IF you still have questions, ask @Tyberius06.

Important: Please note: the game inhibits transit-enabled lots to sit next to each other. What you need to do is to leave at least a one-tile gap between two TE lots – this only applies to street and road lots – then connect these with either road or street and use the seawall piece on either water side to create uniform look.

Credits:

  • Original Creditings: Thanks to Murimk for the seawalls, culverts, and his patience; Porkissimo for his French props; bixel for the fences; d_j_p & rivit for testing patiently; and of course everyone around the Pegasus site.
  • Additional Credits:
    • DocRorlach and the WMP team and his associates for creating the models, props and the original lots.
    • David (djp) for keeping the original site alive so many years, and letting us rehosting the files on the exchanges
    • Tyberius06 (STEX Custodian) and xxdita for the restoration/rehosting of these contents.
    • Special gratitudes go to Vortext for restoring the WMP_Causeway_Tutorial and to Rivit for restoring the z_WMP Causeway RVTStreet.dat providing support for his TSR streets on some of the lots.
Support:

These WMP/DocRorlach creations are now legacy contents and therefore their support is very limited, however support from the wider community can be requested here on SC4 Devotion or in the STEX Custodian General Support Topic. Best include a screen-shot illustrating the problem.

(These very same lots can be/will be found on the LEX too, look for the WMP contents.)

This looks good. I suggest you make a causeway for avenues and ground highways next. Most definitely will be downloading this. 5/5

Nice work, I've been waiting for this.

However - the landmark effect? 30 per lot over 10 tiles? That'll add up to massive effects just from a little old causeway, won't it? Or is that just the pedmall?

Transit enabled lots can never be placed next to each other: the game inhibits transit-enabled lots to sit next to each other. What you need to do is to leave at least a one-tile gap between two TE lots – this only applies to street and road lots – then connect these with either road or street and use the seawall piece on either water side to create uniform look.Only the ped mall pieces can be placed next to each otehr.

This is awesome. I was wondering if someone was ever going to design a floating bridge. And although this isn't one, it's the next best thing.

Well done. I especially like the fact that you included a pipe to move the water from one side to another. Most retaining walls don't have such a distinct feature like that. :thumb:

Wow , am i impressed!! I had a dream, and you made it appear....Are you sure you're not a genie?

From the screenshots above it looks very promising. I'm eager to install it.

BTW, the original pedestrian causeway that sparked this idea (originally for just culverts that ran under the causeway) has since been dismantled. The city (ie, I) decided to go with a bridge out to the little isle and on to the other side of the river. Since it's such a small island, the bridges can't be tall enough for ferries to cross under, so in this case a causeway would be perfect.

Good work, Doc, and i hope to see more of your dreamcatching! :D

you should make a bridge piece, because maybe some boats would like to get by...

its nice... but its really restrictive in use in that you need an extremely steep slope of over 20m to use it. A shallower version would be much appreciated.
