I'm guessing some time after 9? Or very early morning. Here's something you don't see every day - a pair of Canadian National locomotives which made their way down to Tampa Florida last month. I chased this one into the night, and it wound up stopping just outside of the port entrance, beyond which absolutely no photography is allowed. Talk about luck!

Good God, that is one of the more expensive toll routes for sure. It's still only $1.00 to cross the Skyway Bridge here in Tampa Bay.

Same here. This is officially my 8th year on the site, wow. Hard to believe it's been that long...
  4. SOLVED: STEX Downloading Empty or Corrupt Folders

I'd recommend a Malwarebytes scan. This can be useful as an "on-demand" layer of protection, often finding risks that can be missed by antivirus suites. Also, are you using a proxy or anything which changes your regular internet connection? Yeah thanks. I remember using Malwarebytes years ago when servicing other people's computers, actually. I knew it was good but I couldn't remember the name so I ended up with AVG instead. Still no luck on finding out why Windows can't open small .zip files, and only ones that are downloaded from the STEX. Other websites like SimPeg are not having the same problem. A program called IZArc is telling me that the selected files have bad zip headers. Specifically it seems to be the SC4 Model files which are problematic, for whatever strange reason. I can get these programs to extract the lot files but the model files - which are the most important - are unusable. Very strange. Never once had this issue up until now. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I think I solved the problem somewhere down the line but I'm not sure what it was exactly. I ran Malwarebytes and it removed some extra stuff that AVG wasn't picking up. I uninstalled AVG and then proceeded to download Renaissance Books again, but through Firefox instead of my usual browser (Chrome). The Firefox download completed successfully and I was able to extract it. I did the same thing on Chrome and the download was also successful. So, my guess is that some combination of AVG and whatever was bugging my computer (I'd been having Internet Explorer open up on me randomly and display ads the past couple of days, which only ceased after the Malwarebytes scan) was causing the .sc4model files to become corrupt during the download process. In any case, all is well now. Thanks for the help, Cyclone Boom and Nonny Moose!
  5. SOLVED: STEX Downloading Empty or Corrupt Folders

On the STEX, it says the file size is supposed to be about 394.8 kb. When downloaded, the file size is only 63.4 kb. The file size remains consistent, but it's significantly smaller than it is supposed to be (definitely smaller than what you're getting). Running a virus scan now. We'll see what happens... Ran the scan and it found nothing. I had run it the other day because there was adware on my PC, but that's since been removed. Now I'm not sure what the problem is, really, but I'll keep checking back/updating once I find out more.
  6. SOLVED: STEX Downloading Empty or Corrupt Folders

Hey all, I downloaded the windmill no grass mod in Cyclone Boom's link and it opened and extracted fine in 7zip. I tried the same with by nofunk and the problem is persisting, even with 7zip installed. I installed Disk Internals ZIP Repair and it managed to fix the files, and it managed to get them to the extraction phase in 7zip. It then gets stuck saying that the SC4 model file has an "unsupported compression method". Very strange.
  7. SOLVED: STEX Downloading Empty or Corrupt Folders

My ISP is Verizon and my main browser is Chrome. I just tried Firefox and had the same problem. However, I did just recently install AVG to get rid of a Trojan that found it's way onto my PC, and it's possible that it's removing the smaller files. I imagine AV programs aren't familiar with SC4 file extensions and assume they are some form of virus. I'll play with the AVG settings and update this post if I figure it out. EDIT: Seems that AVG was indeed intercepting the files contained within the .zips and deleting what was there. I went into AVG and disabled the Online Shield, so the files download now but I keep getting the "invalid file" error with smaller files, which I was getting yesterday as well. This happens on both Chrome and Firefox.
  8. So a while back I lost most of my files, but only recently have I just started playing SimCity 4 again. I've been rebuilding my plugins folder slowly but surely, and over the past couple of days have run into a problem. Whenever I download a file that's below about 1 MB, there's a fair chance it'll either refuse to extract in windows explorer (it will say that the file is "invalid") or look inside the zip folder and realize there's nothing there at all! This happens on a pretty consistent basis with any file below 1 MB and the issue doesn't discriminate between uploaders; all files are having this problem. I was hoping any of the kind folks here could offer an explanation and hopefully a solution. And as always, thanks in advance.
  9. The March of Slime

But that extra 1/4" of screen size and half-second reduction in loading time for my Facebook app really makes the new $600 phone entirely worth it!!! In all seriousness though, consider me a member of the "upgrades infrequently" camp. I have no real desire to switch over from Win7 since it does everything I need. Seriously, that's all I care about in any technology purchase. If it has extra features that might come in handy fine, but it needs to do what I actually need it to do. If it can't do that, it's not the right toy for me.
  10. The March of Slime

I'd imagine so, considering people are willing to upgrade their iPhone every single year.

Thanks! They were all taken very late in the evening...between 22:00 (10PM) and 3:00 (3AM).

So glad to see this thread is still alive! I always enjoy seeing people other than myself take an interest in working behind a camera. I've done some night work recently. The first image in color was shot on a digital camera, the rest were shot on a large format 4x5, aka 'View' camera.

Awesome. I'm actually experimenting with C-41 color negative film at the moment, I bought 5 rolls of Kodak Ektar and 5 of Portra. I'll probably have to take it to a lab to be developed, but I'm still interested to see how they turned out!

Haha thanks Larks! @Nonny: I have been studying/practicing for quite some time. I wouldn't mind becoming a professional, although I do have some reservations about turning my passion into work, if you know what I mean. @EB: I really like the spider shot. Nice one.
