About This File

UPDATE: 23.06.2022 for Project ZIP. Installer replaced with ZIP file and other housekeeping, courtesy of Tyberius06.

This pack contains a set of six bus stops that sit on a road/street/avanue tile and don't require extra space beside the road. This is very useful for busy downtown areas or areas where you've forgotten to put in bus stops but don't want to bulldoze.

There are two sets of lots, each one with one street lot, one road lot and one avenue lot. Set1 is a more run-down looking busstop, based on the prefab pebblemix concrete ones found in many Australian cities. Set2 are more upmarket with transparent glass. They also use a texture with a pull-off area so the busses can pull off the road (as found in many places).

All are found together in the miscellaneous transport menu.

Install: copy/extract the Deadwoods parent folder into your plugins. If you extracted the _Documents folder into your plugins, too, it's highly recommended to keep it, but move it out of the Plugins folder.

The pack comes with two sets of textures for the pullouts. One uses the Maxis road textures and one uses the Euro road textures. Both will be installed when you extract the ZIP. So you should go to the install directory (/SimCity 4/Plugins/deadwoods/DEDWD_RTBusStop) and remove one of the following (the one you don't want):

DEDWD_RTBusStop_Euro_textures.dat, or

DEDWD_RTBusStop_Maxis_textures.dat

The specs and transit properties of the lots have been updated to current days NAM standards.

These lots are BSC Tracking Enabled (BTE) which means they may contribute to Reward Chains.

Dependencies:
BSC Textures vol01

The bus lanes are great--do the buses actually turn off?? <:-o ...The only oddity I see is the shelter located BEHIND the bus (I assume it's not a LH drive situation because the bus in the pic is driving RH). It would make a lot more sense for it to be in front for RH. Very nice overall!

This won't cause any of my lots to become dilapidated will it. And by the way I like the that I don't have to destroy anything to use them. Thanks

Love the pull out lanes, but they really look best on streets in that color. Love the whole concept, this deserves a 10/10

These are based on ones here in Oz. The shoulder is not wide enough for the bus to get off the road completely so they extend the reinforced concrete out into the road to reduce the impact on the bitumen (esp. on hot days).

SamJam - you're right, I did put it as we have here in Oz, which is driving on the left side of the road (like UK and much of Asia). I didn't want to get into the LH/RH modding thing.

These are very nice, but I'm not really keen on the grey-colored pull-offs. Here in Michigan we have these pull-offs too; but they are asphalt just like the road. This is my preference and it does NOT take away from my opinion of your work! But I'd love to see these match the road. ;)

No Funk: You can just create your own textures with the asphalt bus stop area in Paint or something and put them back in the game with SC4 tool. Deadwoods: These are fantastic. They are really realistic. Near where I live, there exists both kinds of bus stop shelters. 10/10

is it correct that the adjoining zones do not see these bustops as road? I'm getting an awful lot of "no road connection" signs up next to where I put them...
