Some very nice stuff. You've gotten the city rather well planned out I think - keep updating.
  2. Download Audacity. Completely free, and you can do some basic sound editing as well as just converting to different formats. You need a plugin though to be able to save mp3 files, you can find it pretty easily on the Audacity site. I absolutely love the SC4 music, but I often play with a VLC playlist just running in the background, turning the game music volume down to zero.

It's not too hard, it's pretty easy to understand how everything works just by looking through menus There are free games and demos on steam as well so if you feel a bit anxious you can download steam, get an account and play a free game to get the hang of how everything works.
  4. Simcity 4 now available on steam

Just to clarify, the steam version of the game can use mods no problem. This is the case with almost all games on steam that support mods normally.
  5. Tropico 3!

Urgh, steam is being a [jerk] and won't let me play until 6 days. I can't wait, Cities XL wasn't my thing at all.
  6. Are you going to buy Cities XL?

I will not buy it at release. As good as the MMO idea is, I want my simulator game to stay single player. Since this game is so nerfed in that regard I will not get it right away. If I can get hold of the MMO content in SP I will most certainly buy it. I know this goes against MC's business strategy, sorry but I'm really not interested in the online aspect, I have other games for that I'll buy Tropico 3 and have some fun with that while I wait for CXL to grow on us a bit.
  7. XBOX 360, PS3 or Wii?

I'm a PC guy all the way. I don't mind consoles but in most cases (infact all so far) I get all my games for PC because of mod support, better patching and better graphics (not always though). And there's so much more to do with a PC than just playing games, which is what makes it truly superior personally! There is nothing a console can do that my PC can't do (except for running PS3 and 360 games, so far). Dare me.
  8. Tropico 3!

Anyone has played the demo? I found it really fun, will probably buy it at release. I never played the older Tropico games but I think it's a really cool mix between city sim and strategy game. Lots of nice little details and things to just jerk around with.
  9. Is the demo really as bad as I think it is?

It's pretty impossible not to be biased... so yeah. The UI - I guess I'll get the hang of it sooner or later but it could be a lot more intuitive. The camera controls - isn't this a 3D game? Then why are the cameras so restricted? Haven't quite got a good feel for the gameplay yet so I will wait a bit before I comment on it, but I will say right away that's it's rather confusing even for a city sim veteran like me Also, no real good Windows 7 support sucks... had to run it in XP compatibility mode to make it run properly.
  10. Steam, please. I know City Life is on steam which is great but I just want to be sure Cities XL end up there as well
  11. APRIL FOOLS

Party at my house! Bring your own food though
  12. Bellerose County: two cities, one urban sprawl

Great pics! I love the last park as well. Very cool region view
  13. Parkland - Adventures In Realism - Established 2004

Great job. Most people (including myself) just stuffs the whole map full of stuff but you're not afraid to use open spaces, which really adds some soul to it.
  14. Awesome start, really. Keep it up
  15. Escher

Pretty damn sweet. I really like the traffic planning (or lack of it)
