This is my attempt at rendering the famous Copacabana Palace which is the main landmark on Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana Beach. Just what the rich visitors to your city need ! Another 5 star hotel ! I have also created a few 1x1 tiles which will enable you to have a boardwalk style promenade on any water front, to create a real tourist area. It is styled on the Copacabana's famous wavey black and white cobblestone promenade. This building is intended to be converted into a landmark using catty-cb and CorinaMarie's Landmark Converter and then be placed somewhere pretty. You can download the converter from Simtropolis : 5x5 tiles Format: .bld Intended zone type: Hotel Place into SimCity 3000 Unlimited/Buildings/ to install.-

Cable car based off the Sugarloaf cable car in Rio de Janeiro The pack contains four lots: 1. Base station LM version (with cables and gondolas as overhanging props) 2. Base station Cs$$ plop version with 300 jobs (with cables and gondolas as overhanging props) 3. Mid station connecting to summit station (park lot so it does not require water or power) 4. Mid station* connecting to base station (park lot so it does not require water or power) * Use this station as the summit station as well. Extract .zip to your plugins folder ALL FOUR LOTS ARE FOUND IN THE LANDMARKS MENU. Unfortunately there's no nightlighting, sorry. 994 Vargas Avenue is located on President Vargas Avenue, a long straight avenue that was carved out of downtown Rio de Janeiro in the 1940s. The broad avenue features uniform building heights and colonnades along the road's length. This BAT has been created for the Rio 2016 Project. 6x2 growable and ploppable CO§§ lots. CAM versions included. MaxisNite and DarkNite versions included. DarkNite requires the Day and Nite Modd. Installation Instructions: Download either the DarkNite (DN) or MaxisNite (MN) version. If you're unsure, choose the MN version. If you use the CAM, download the CAMeLots and use them instead of the normal growable lots. Ploppables are unaffected. Unzip the .zip and move its contents to Documents/SimCity4/Plugins. SC4Lot files are descriptively titled. Remove the lot versions which you do not want. Do not remove any .SC4Model files.- 1 Comment

I´m from Rio, born and live here in this city and applied my knowledge do correct and enhance the heightmaps, appearance, roads and natural resources. The Rio 2016 Olympic Project is proud to present... Christ the Redeemer Cristo Redentor is a 30 metre Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, created by French sculptor Paul Landowski and built by the Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, in collaboration with the French engineer Albert Caquot. The statue is located at the peak of the Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park overlooking the city of Rio. As a symbol of Brazilian Christianity, the statue has become an icon for Rio de Janeiro and Brazil. It is made of reinforced concrete and soapstone, and was constructed between 1922 and 1931. (Source: Wikipedia) This is the first BAT release for the Rio 2016 Project. Cristo Redentor is a Landmark that comes in several versions. It's a pretty complicated BAT, I've tried to keep it simple... Start by downloading either the Darknite or Maxis night versions (xx_DN or xx_MN respectively) not both. If you're unsure, download the Maxis Night version. Versions: 1) Statue with Observation Deck, is an overhanging prop that sits on 1x1 lot. Costs §5000 to build and §150 per month. This version has the statue and plinth atop the stone viewing platform that sits on top of the mountain. It comes with a separate staircase, on a 2x1 lot. (zero effect, zero cost) Delete folder 'Cristo Redentor Observation Deck' if you don't want the Observation Deck. 2) A standalone version on a 1x1 lot. This version has only the statue and plinth standing directly on the ground. Delete folder 'Cristo Redentor Standalone Statue' if you don't want the standalone statue. You can use both! 3) The night versions come in 7 different colours. You can only use one version, please delete the versions you don't want (or just remove them from your plugin folder). Do not delete them all! You need at least one. There are no external Prop dependencies, although the Dark Nite version requires SimFox_Day_n_Nite_Modd. Disclaimer: I have tried to test all of these but there's so many versions I may have missed something. If you find a problem please let me know. This is my 30th BAT.- 31 Comments

G'Day Simtropians, Today I wish to present a map requested courtesy of Paulobegonci here at club simtrop, Thanks old mate. It is of Rio the capital of the state of Rio de Janeiro and was the capital of Brasil from 1763 until 1960. See me up CLOSE and personal. This is a real world map and was produced with dem and satellite data. It measures 55.296km x 41.984km and utilising 16bit mapping technology it is in .SC4M format. Wouanagaine's mapper or terraformer is required for importation. The map is terrain and scale accurate. A readme has been included containing some links and instructions and a picture. I think that's all. Cheers
