Hi folks, I'm currently working on an airport shuttle bus station and I would like to use a very old airport tram lot (8x6) which was part of a pack back in the days (SWAP) as the base lot. So it basically works like a functional airport. However, I'm not able to do a "save as" in the LE to create a new lot (the button is greyed out) I can only press save and overwrite the lot. So I made a backup of the original lot and saved the lot with my new custom building on it. For some reason the building is offsetted from lot so it is overhanging in game although I centered it correctly in the lot in LE. I used the "Model Tweaker" to correct the offset which works but but for some reason the new lot does not feature all the other changes I made to the lot (eg. base textures, props etc.) it just takes the old base-/ overlay textures and props. Can anyone help me? I read somewhere that it isn't trivial to make custom functional airport lots. Best, delyrium

Yes, something like that. It can be done if bridges cross a limited stretch. E.g. the "Lange Wapper Bridge" mentioned above is, as I recall, exactly the length where a draggable highway or avenue bridge creates exactly one pillars in between the start and ending point of the bridge. The appearance of the original bridge (except the asphalt texture when correctly placed regarding the height of the bridge) is then visually masked/overlaid by the "Lange Wapper Bridge" its Pillar overlaying the one from the original SC4 bridge. My goal would be to have a bridge type which can be selected in the menu that pops up when you drag an e.g. highway over water and can span any length without forming pillars in between, just a kind of floating highway, street.. you name it which is then overlaid with custom created overhanging bridge lots.

Yes, I can. I've seen one or two tutorials on bridges floating around on the internet. However, the pictures were missing so I wasn't able to use the tutorials.

Hi, I've been trying to get into creating custom bridges for traffic but I wasn't able to obtain a good tutorial on how to do so. What I would like to do is create for each traffic module (one way, road, avenue, highway, rail, monorail etc.) a bridge which has no pillars in between the start and the end part. Meaning, that the middle section is just hovering above the surface. This would allow creating bridge lots as overhanging props (such as the "Lange Wapper Bridge" by @smf_16 and would open up a whole new universe of bridge creations! This is why I'd like to ask someone to do this for me or explain to me (step by step) how to do so. Chers!

Ok. So now I only changed the instance ID of the S3Ds, generated a new group & instance for the exemplars and left the FSHs as is just as you stated. Then I scaled the files in the .dat down to 50% with the SC4 Model Tweaker. Now I see the original Props and the "scaled" props when I open the Lot Editor, they have the same name which I don't think is a problem. However, the props in the scaled file should be scaled to 50% which they are not. Both props still remain at the original scale. I can't attach the modified file because it is larger than 2 MB. Here's the download link to the original file: -

Ok, thanks for your patience! I still don't understand why they're invisible though. I you have the nerve to give me a step by step walkthrough (for dummies ) I'd really appreciate it! To sum it up: I want to copy a .dat file containing several props (Flunight Props Vol 01 - Flora.dat) and rescale some of the props in the .dat file while leaving the original file untouched, so that in the end I can use both the original props and the rescaled props in game/Lot Editor independently. Ok. So you are suggesting to first duplicate the original file and then go through the steps you mentioned above and scaling the file last for example with the SC4 Model Tweaker, correct? -

Hi, Sorry to bug you again. I proceeded exactly as you stated above. Both the original and the modified files now show up in the LE. So far so good. The problem now is that the prop of the modified file is now invisible and when you look at the S3D files they show an invisible cube (view attachment). Any ideas what's going wrong? -

Ok, thanks! Where exactly in the reader can I change the IID for each S3D file? -

Hi guys! I'm trying to scale props which are packed within a .dat with the Model Tweaker. The problem is that I don't want to overwrite the original file but instead have both the original and scaled props available in the Lot Editor. I've already tried to copy and rename the original .dat file, scaling the renamed file and having both files in the Plugins folder. However, for some reason only the scaled props are available in the Lot Editor. I'm assuming that it has to do with the naming as the props still have the same names within the to differently named .dat files. If this is the case how can I change these names within the .dat file so that both versions (scaled and original) are available in the Lot Editor? Using the Reader? Cheers Delyrium -
Does anyone have the "How to model a bridge for SC4" tutorial with images? They seem to be missing in the link. Cheers

The Urban Pavillon is a fictional pavillon and cantina for your sims to relax, have lunch or drink coffee. I played around with the golden ratio while constructing it. The .zip file contains a landmark lot with no jobs and a ploppable lot with Co$$ 18 jobs in your landmarks menu. Unfortunately there is no night lighting like all my other uploads If you are missing any dependencies just notify me. Enjoy!- 1 Comment
