  1. NAB Hobart

    Version 1.0.0

NAB Hobart, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- A request from a fellow SC4 player, NAB Hobart is a slim-line 14 floor mid-rise (or high-rise depending on your point of view) mid-twentieth century building from downtown Hobart, Australia. So typical of the mid-century design, the main tower part of the building sits atop a wider podium level with exposed columns at both transition areas to lend a 'lightness' of contruction quality to the design. Another piece in the playbook of modernist style is the wall sculpture that adorns the main entrance. Vertical concrete and metal fins help visually lengthen the building. I have taken some liberties with the building. Most notably, in real life the large blank wall area of the tower actually faces the street and the windowed wall faces other builidngs. I found that highly peculiar, so swapped that odd detail around to make this a much more traditional W2W building. It is offered as a growable only CS§§§ 2x1 and CO§§§ 1x2 covering both corner lots. --------------------------------------- STATS CS§§§: Lot size : 2x1 Growth Stage: 6 (Medium & High Density Zoning) Bulldoze Cost: § 808 Capacity Satisfied: CS§ 479, CS§§ 122, CS§§§ 51 Pollution: 3 (Air)/ 2 (Water)/ 4 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 14 Mwh Water Consumed: 125 Gal/Month Building Style: Chicago, New York, Houston, Euro Occupant Group: High Wealth CS STATS CO§§§: Lot size : 1x2 Growth Stage: 6 (Medium & High Density Zoning) Bulldoze Cost: § 808 Capacity Satisfied:CO§§ 262, CO§§§ 184 Pollution: 1 (Air)/ 1 (Water)/ 4 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 8 Mwh Water Consumed: 93 Gal/Month Building Style: Chicago, New York, Houston, Euro Occupant Group: High Wealth CO --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: There are two model files in this download. The file suffixed with 'MN' is for users who do not have any such mods installed. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. 2. Beverly Apartments

Beverly Apartments, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- Bring some retro mid-century glamour to your cities with Beverly Apartments. It is inspired by a real-life US west coast building which was originally designed as an office building, but with its distinctive, cantilievered, bucket-shaped balconies, was ripe for a residential re-purposing in SC4. In game it is offered as an R§§ apartment. The apartments are mostly 1 bedroom, but with wide curtain glass windows feel spacious and airy. The ground floor and lower ground floors are reserved for shops and gallery spaces. Secure underground parking and a pool complete the ammenities for all the residents. These apartments are presented in 2 options: a 4x2 and a 4x3 lot. --------------------------------------- STATS R§§: Lot size : 4x2 & 4x3 Growth Stage: 6 (Medium & High Density Zoning) Bulldoze Cost: §565 Capacity Satisfied: R§ 1,589, R§§ 878 Pollution: 7 (Air)/ 3 (Water)/ 4 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 12 Mwh Water Consumed: 33 Gal/Month Building Style: Houston/Euro/NY/Chicago Occupant Group: Medium Wealth Residential Building --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: This download contains TWO model files; one for dark nite users (and other night-time darkening mods, such as Gizmos night-mod) and one for the standard Maxis nite. You must keep only one file - depending on which version you use. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. (https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23089-simfox-day-and-nite-modd/) --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT PARKING TEXTURES: As these models contain garaged underground parking, the lots do not come with parking textures. If you wish to add acres of parking or change the concrete textures, please use the lot editor to do so. --------------------------------------- DEPENDENCIES: This lot requires no external dependencies. --------------------------------------- To install, simply unzip the contents of this file into your plugins folder. 3. Europa House

    Version 1.0

Europa House, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- This is an otherwise dumpy little post WWII inner-city low-mid rise building which is transformed by an unusual (for SimCity at least) butterfly roof on the eighth floor penthouse. The butterfly roof was a design classic of the late 1940's to mid 1950's that created amazing, soaring, light-filled interior spaces that forced the eye up and out along the inverted plane of the roof line through dazzling clerestory windows. A lot of modern buildings are also reviving this simple trend. After WWII, buildings called 'Europa House' seemed to spring up in cities everywhere: perhaps it served as a bricks and mortar reminder of the horrors of war and the constant need to vigilant against extremist views and ideologies (a lesson we seem to have forgotten). Whatever the case, if these buildings still stand today, they are usually fairly low-value commercials, and this is what I have created for the game. The lot comes in two 2x2 flavours: a growable LOW-WEALTH Commercial Services and a growable MID-WEALTH Commercial Office. And, with a name like 'Europa House' this grows only on the Euro tile-set. --------------------------------------- STATS CS§: Lot size : 2x2 Growth Stage: 5 (Medium and High Density Zoning) Bulldoze Cost: §423 Capacity Satisfied: CS§ 312 Pollution: 3 (Air)/ 1 (Water)/ 9 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 6/7/0 Power Consumed: 7 Mwh Water Consumed: 64 Gal/Month Building Style: Euro Occupant Group: Commercial Services Building STATS CO§§: Lot size : 2x2 Growth Stage: 5 (Medium and High Density Zoning) Bulldoze Cost: §436 Capacity Satisfied: CO§§ 175 Pollution: 1 (Air)/ 1 (Water)/ 4 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 4 Mwh Water Consumed: 45 Gal/Month Building Style: Euro Occupant Group: Commercial Offices Building --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: This download contains TWO model files; one for dark nite users (and other night-time darkening mods, such as Gizmos night-mod) and one for the standard Maxis nite. 4. American City Bank

    Version 1.0

    8,657 Downloads

American City Bank, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- The American City Bank was an iconic mid-century gem located in Century City Los Angeles. The Bank itself failed in 1983 and was taken over by a consortium of banks. This BAT is a scaled down version of the main branch (in order to fit it onto a lot 4 tiles wide) which was built in 1959 at a cost of $2.5M and features an abstract mural on the second floor, very wide, plate-glass windows, cantilevered construction and a quaint little moat surrounding the bank building. Another quaint, but hideously expensive, feature was the electronic thermometer on the street sign. During the mid 20th century, it was surprisingly common on the US West Coast for bank buildings to be surrounded by water. Of course, if these buildings still survive today, these moats have long been filled in given how much maintenance they would require in shaky, drought-stricken California. In game it is offered as a high-wealth commercial services building growing on all tilesets and densities on a 4x3 or 4x4 lot. As for the actual building, after having fallen into disrepair, it was demolished about 15 years ago. A shame really, as this sort of architecture is truly unique. Stats, links and dependencies are listed below. --------------------------------------- STATS: Growth Stage: 3 (low/medium and high density zones - 4x3 & 4x4 lot size) Bulldoze Cost: § 261 Capacity Satisfied: CS§ 1,132, CS§§ 285, CS§§§116 Pollution: 7 (Air)/ 5 (Water)/ 10 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 6/7/0 Power Consumed: 32 Mwh Water Consumed: 289 Gal/Month Building Style: Chicago/NY/Houston/Euro Occupant Group: Commercial Services Building --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: This download contains TWO model files; one for dark nite users (and other night-time darkening mods, such as Gizmos night-mod) and one for the standard Maxis nite. 5. Dental Clinic

    Version 1.0

Dental Clinic, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- Few people look forward to a trip to the dentist, but as every one knows, part of general health care is looking after your pearly whites. I've often wondered at how bad the Sims teeth must be, given that there is no specific health exemplar for dentistry and there are next to no such clinics in Sim City! This little building is inspired by a real such mid-century low rise building near downtown Los Angeles. I really liked the curved entrance façade and small, high windows within the curtain wall and of course, the unmistakable dental signage ensures that the building's function is immediately recognisable. As an added bonus, this building will function equally well as a stand-alone building or in a Wall-to-Wall environment. In game, I use buildings like this to supplement the main hospital function and I have modded the capacities to sit mid way between the clinic and standard hospital. But it will work equally well in a smaller city without the need for an additional hospital. --------------------------------------- STATS: Lot size : 2 x 2 Plop Cost: §1,250 Monthly Cost: §900 Patient Capacity: 1,850 Coverage Radius: 656m/41 Tiles Demand Created: Jobs§: 17, Jobs§§: 39, Jobs§§§: 12. 6. Harbor Clinic

    Version 1.0

    24,829 Downloads

Inspired by a rather imposing mid-century building on Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, Harbor Clinic operates as a large hospital in game. This 6-floor building is substantial; its 100 meter street frontage is broken by a large blank entrance wall clad in marble tiles for its full height and makes for a striking streetscape addition in real life. As it sits on a 7x4 lot, this is useful for urban and suburban areas. It has an expanded coverage radius and high patient capacity and provides quite a number of civic jobs in all wealth categories. STATS: Patient Capacity: 12,250 Monthly Cost: $4,200 Hospital Boost: 11.52 Coverage Radius: 1,384 Plop Cost: $6,700 Bulldoze Cost: $310 Demand Created: Jobs$: 86, Jobs$$: 247, Jobs$$$: 81 Pollution: 8/5/4 Pollution Radius: 3/4/0 Power Consumed: 15 Mwh Water Consumed: 58 Gallons DEPENDENCIES: (note you must be registered and logged into the SC4Devotion LEX to download these): BSC MEGA Props CP Vol01 (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1180) BSC MEGA Props CP Vol02 (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2790). *Note, this is a new file* To install, simply unzip the file and select either the DarkNite or MaxisNite model files (only one can be used) into your plugins folder.
