As promised, we have begun to rebuild. It's taking a while to get all my plug-ins back in order but in the mean time the main city grids are being put into place. The southern suburb, the City of Jenks, Oklahoma. South Tulsa neighborhood/district, Tulsa Hills. and the Southwest Tulsa neighborhood of Carbondale.

Hello Citizens, I regretfully must inform everyone that my motherboard short circuited back in February (which is why there have been no new posts) and because of this my OS was compromised and I have lost all the data I had on the HD. So at this point, I have to recreate all that I had for the Tulsa Metroplex. This will only be but a small bump in the road and I assure you we will pull through this trial in the same way that this beautiful city has on many occasions. For now, this is it; BUT I will be diligent in beginning my recreation again and there will be new updates very soon. Yours honorably, Mayor Patchoula

THE INTRO This CJ as a major purpose pretends to be a chance to inmortalize and (finally) conclude a region I've been working for the last 5 or 6 years: TARRE. As is, I'll try to practice and beautify it through some Photoshop and certain words and stories my mind has coming up with throghout the years. Without further ado, let's go for the Sneak Peek. P.S. In advance, thanks to any lotter, batter or modder involved in the images, as I go, 'll make my best to do it intendly, as my time and memory may let me. ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ This first entry shows the origin of the Region's Capital, Tarre. This city grew up in the main crossing of the Tarre and Harne rivers. Built on flat valley, the city center began around the old known church of St. Stephen, with it's unique character surrounded by the city's main square and guarded by old known buildings and styles. A cold afternoon in the National Square... let's for this moment, rest at a lost shadow. ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨

Entry 11: Harrington, The Beginning (Mk3)
89James89 posted a City Journal entry in Harrington (A natural growth SC4 CJ)
So here we go again! OOC: Right so I have a bit of a lesson for everyone. Apparently, it turns out that its a really bad idea to edit the config file of a region while you have the region open in game. A definite lesson in how to actually think about what your doing before you actually doing and also to make sure that you back up your regions every now and then. Anyway, as you've probably guessed by now, this led to the unfortunate result of me wiping the entire map from existence. Bit of a bummer admittedly, still, from the ashes and all that so let's get stuck right back in, this time though, were going for a larger map (I'm seriously just kidding myself though, there's no way in hell I'm going to probably fill it up.), being 60x50 pixels (so 3000 square kilometres), but this time all in medium tiles rather than large so I can see how each of the settlements is really growing (I like seeing everything as an individual settlement so not being able to tell how many people were living in each of the villages in the old map was annoying me a bit). There's also a small chance I may have got bitten a bit by the whole MMP bug though, the plan is to keep this a bit minimal. Right here we go! Replies: Entry 11: Harrington, The Beginning (mk3) Haven't we been here before? So, welcome one and all to our new home, the Region of Harrington., a very sparsely populated but hospitable land and today, were going to visit the principal settlement of the area, Harrington. Discovered and founded a little while back at the most sensible place for a sheltered harbour on the banks of the river Harring, this place has quickly become the main landing place for new settlers, with most of people in the region having passed through this harbour below. Built to take advantage both of the natural harbour and the fish in the area we have a good staging point for this growing community, centred mainly around this church in the centre of the town where folks usually gather for important community events, both the working class that live around the church itself Or the rich folk, living above the harbour overlooking their various enterprises. As well as the bustling centre of town with the church and the farmers market, the town also boasts a large fete on the edge of the town where the housing gives way to farms. Lots and lots of farms. Other than that its your usual little town nestled amongst the trees with a couple of creeks like this one to give some points of interest. Along with this little ford which, although fairly picturesque and a always fun to watch people try and drive through in the rainy months, is promptly becoming a bit of an issue, given that more and more traffic is heading out and in from the surrounding farms. Still, it's a nice quiet place to live, and the people seem happy, not that they have that much choice, given that no one seems to really remember where the nearest actual settlement outside of the Harrington region but nevermind, they seem to have accepted that this is there lot in life. And that's everything there is about Harrington town, next up we'll have a look at some of the other small settlements that can be found around here. Till next time! -
Here it is everyone, the story of the region, and my plans for developing Frontier City. Pics of the town's utilities in development coming next. Frontier City – The Plan: Frontier City will not be some bustling metropolis lined with tall buildings and international airports. Rather, my plan for the region is to develop a large mountain town, the final population of which will be somewhere between 40,000 and 60,000. Frontier City will be the main town, and will contain roughly half of the region’s population. The remainder the citizens reside in multiple satellite towns and rural developments. Logging and mining are going to be the primary industries driving the region’s economy. Location: Frontier City is located on the planet 107 Piscium Major, the second planet orbiting the star 107 Piscium, which is located approximately 24.4 light years from Earth in the constellation Pisces. I have attached stellar and planetary statistics for any astronomy enthusiasts out there. The city is built within the planet’s northern temperate belt, approximately 1,000 kilometers south of the Northern Ice Sheet. Climate: 107 Piscium Major is a planet that orbits a smaller and dimmer star than the sun, (a K1V-type orange dwarf). Orbiting closer to the sun at an average distance of 0.67 AU, results in the planet only receiving lower levels of solar radiation, and the atmosphere has less than half of the carbon dioxide content of Earth; therefore, the planet is significantly colder than Earth, with an average temperature of 49°F (8°C), or roughly 13°F (7 °C) colder than Earth. Thus, the planet exists in a near perpetual ice age, with ice sheets covering over 10% of the planet’s surface, and ocean levels low enough to leave the continental shelves exposed. While the planet possesses tropics with temperatures comparable tropical conditions on Earth, most of the planet’s climate is either temperate at lower latitudes or sub-arctic at middle latitudes. Frontier City’s climate is reminiscent of this. Summers are mild with highs in the upper 70s, while winters are cold, frequently dropping below 0°F. The climate of the city can best be described as Alpine or even boreal. Years on the planet are short, lasting only 223 days; therefore, seasons are equally a short with only 56 days in each season. History of 107 Piscium Major The history of the planet is one of great sadness of the challenges faced the Earth’s early space travelers and early human arrogance. Originally, the planet was first visited in the year 2149 by the space explorer Ferdinand Rutledge. Being the 5th closest planet to Earth capable of supporting human life, Earth’s unified government began sending colonists to the planet between the years of 2169 and 2182. By 2190 the planet supported nearly 2.4 million colonists. Unbeknownst to the colonists, the journey to the planet gave the settlers a genetic disease. Early human space travel involved using cryogenic stasis pods. It was originally believed that people in their frozen state would be immune to the effects of cosmic and solar radiation. Unfortunately, this was a great error, which was not discovered until the colonists between producing children. Nearly all children the colonists were sterile and suffered from genetic deformations. At the same time this became known, wars on Earth cut the planet off from all contact with Earth, and by the year 2265 all the colonists were dead from natural causes, and their children from genetic disorders. Along for the ride to the planet also included domestic animals and other forms of life. These animals included: dogs, cats, rabbits, mice, rats, pics, deer, bass, blue gill, sun fish, just to name a few. Ironically, their animals were able arrive on the planet relatively unharmed by the effects of cosmic radiation. These animals once introduced and after the death of the colonists heavily damaged the planets ecosystem on the northern continents. The most destructive species ended up being the cute cuddly bunny rabbits, which reproduced at exponential rates, and had no predators to control their population. This is exactly what happened in Australia, but on a scale spanning an entire hemisphere. Eventually wars on Earth ended, space travel resumed, and Earth began sending colonists back to the planet starting in the year 2315. New spacecraft not only were able to use wormhole drives to travel faster than light, but were also equipped with magnetic shielding which protected the crew and passengers from cosmic and solar radiation. New arrivals set foot on a world covered in the ruins of the previous inhabitants, and a drastically altered ecosystem, dominated by Earth-based animals. By 2440, 107 Piscium Major had become a prosperous and productive planet supporting 50 million human setters, orbited by several large space ports. History of Blue Gill Lake: Blue Gill Lake gets its name from Blue Gill, which were introduced into the lake and thrived, Blue Gill lake has a somewhat dark and mysterious history. The lake was first inhabited by the planet’s original colonists which described the lake as an alpine paradise surrounded by riches. Mountains were rich with valuable ore such as uranium, gold, nickel, copper, and other metals. The forests contained near limitless supplies of wood, since trees grew twice as fast on the planet as their Earth counterparts. The region however, had a history of people vanishing without any trace. After being resettled, numerous abandoned mines were found scattered in the mountains and dozens of collapsed logging mills. One of the more bizarre discoveries along the lake’s shores were three fortified gun turrets, pointed directly across the lake. To this day, no current colonist understands their true purpose, but most believe that towards the end, the last remaining settlers before dying completely out waged war for what few resources were left. More wild theories point towards defense against the legendary Blue Gill Lake Monster. Blue Gill Lake Monster: Original colonists of the planet and today’s colonists have both passed stories along about a great serpent-like beast which lives in the lake, which reaches up to 60 feet in length. This creature reportingly likes to roam the marshlands at night, rest on the numerous rocks protruding from the lake, and even kills anyone that gets too near to its resting place. A region on the lake known as the dark beach is notorious for the disappearance of swimmers, and even people who simply stroll along the beach. To this date sightings and disappearances continue, but official searches always come up empty. Blue Gill Lake reaches depths of up to 242 feet and contains an extensive under-water cave system near its southern shores. Additionally, the Blue Gill River both feeds the lake and drains the lake, the river itself reaching up to 70 feet in depth. If the monster is real, three possible theories have been put forth for why it has not yet been found: it hides in the underwater caves, retreats either up or down-river, or it has skin which absorbs scanning waves. To this date, colonial scientists officially say there is no monster in the lake, but admit they still know so little about existing life on the planet, that anything could be possible. The dark beach region in the mean-time has been deemed off-limits to all, under penalty of incarceration. Southern View of the Region Northern View of the Region. Planned Location of the town and utilities above. Below are statistic charts for the sun the planet orbits and the planet itself, not really city related, but part of the story. A New Beginning (City Journal) | CANCELLED PERMANENTLY!
Nevermore2797 posted a topic in Cities: Skylines City Journals
LOG #1: "New Beginnings can Take you Time to get a Good City" Remember Lexington (the city I created weeks after I got the game), well I plan to remake it from scratch with a lot of difference, and still retain those memorable parts. This is the old Lexington City. Now, it's time to recreate this city with A LOT of differences... Now, it is now known as Thanemontshire (same city name used by those NDEX guys in one the descriptions of their made buildings --- my apologies.), yet I still need help to make a sensible city name that you can think of (either generic English or Japanese or anything that makes sense).... and it will be appreciated In making cities, I always wanted it to be realistic or semi-realistic that in a way that it is good, and I hope it will be good in the long run. I'm using some mods that will be helpful here along with Unlimited Money, so I can make this city easier (I'm more of a Sandbox guy when it comes to City-building games ). SCREENSHOT TIME!!! (Didn't disable the UI on some screenshots because I was kinda bit lazy or in a hurry) Ahh, the 12 lane Avenue from Old Lexington makes a return with a difference (sorry for no old screenshot from the old city). Suburbs is rising That Power Plant on the upper left will be moved once I get enough power or something like a Fusion Power Plant Monument. Progress so far......... What do you think? Any suggestions, recommendations so far?? That would be appreciated, and please do not be negative. TO BE CONTINUED.......- 8 Replies

Welcome to Amesbury and to my Cities : Skylines CJ! I am writing this CJ and chronicling my city of Amesbury as I develop it from scratch. It's not an attempt at organic city planning (there is a master plan after all), but the city isn't fully planned either and I let myself wander off the 5-year-plan when issues arise or if I fancy trying something else. As it turns out, the candy graphics don't actually put me off. This is actually my fourth town, but the first one I build with more than just gameplay in mind. We'll see how it goes! I will not attempt to keep to a certain time frame as it killed my Traebia CJ dead in its tracks a couple of years ago. My time is limited, I want to take it easy. Of Cats and Cathnoquey So where to begin...Amesbury is a small village in the Commonwealth of Cathnoquey. During the Tiber Septim wars this island was developed as an outpost for invasions of Akavir, but it was out of the way enough that once the wars ended, most citizens returned to Tamriel and colonization was over. Ayleids were reported on the island as late as the Fourth Era, when colonization began and Cathnoquey became interesting again. They were persecuted and the few remaining Ayleids now enjoy protected minority status, but harm has been done. Cathoquey is a federation. Its two biggest cities are Wellsborough (1.254.698) and New Wigmore (785.021), though there are some other big cities scattered on the island, mostly on the coastal areas. Amesbury, Land of Sleepy Roads The two towns are linked by railroads and limited-access roadways. Amery County, in the middle of forested hills, is where the two axis meet. It could be a perfect place for a town to grow...but at present, there is only a small village settled barely fifty years ago : Amesbury. A very sleepy town... Which for fifty years has not been a great hub of anything. Though the timber industry is very present and drives the municipal economy, the town is a cosy and unassuming place. But everything changed in 5E115 with the municipal elections, and Major DeFacto, a very moustachy old Altmer, was defeated by an up-and-coming human councillor, Major Davies. And the Wellsborough-educated daughter of a timber tycoon has plans for the town. If there's a city in all of Cathoquey that must become important and -the- place to invest in, it better be Amesbury! In 5E115, Amesbury is home to 2'407 people. Most live in the residential district, also called North Shores. Further east, Crest Heights is an industrial park that, while in decline, has managed to hold its own far better than most of the industry sector in the whole country. Motorway M2, the east-west axis between New Wigmore and the New Gold Coast, looking west. Exit 54 for Amesbury and Amery County... Most traffic enters the town at Hickory Circle or through SR-8, a small road leading south. Hickory Circle is the town's central park and is where of the town's commercial activity happens. There's also a small Major's House and County Seat. The very quiet Browley Street, still sleepy in the morning sun. Proposals to embellish the roadworks have remained shelved for years under DeFacto's majorship. Browley Street was where singer Ciley Mirus lived before losing herself in a construction area and finding fame in New Wigmore! Thank you, TeeEmZee! The town has managed to keep its industry going over the years, in large part because of the many logging camps across the County. Wood-related industries make up for most of the town's industrial output. Dam Splinters, Inc has based its headquarters in Amesbury to take advantage of the very low industrial tax rate (barely 6%!), and ICK-EA is planning to set up shop here, too! DeForest Station Co., just outside town. This logging camp (and many others) is owned by the Davies family. A Sprinter train from Wellsborough to Albany runs near the town. Amesbury is not served by the CathRail passenger or freight networks, though CathCoach buses stop at Hickory Circle. That's it for now! There are many development plans going on, but for now Amesbury is still quite the sleepy town it is known for. There's high residential and industrial demand, low tax rates, plenty of land to settle, and it's one of the best spots as far as transportation is concerned, so Talos willing, maybe the town will grow someday... This is my first entry and beginning area, hope you like it and feel free to give feedback.

Hi all out there! My name is Iamsmol , I'm german and I have until now always played Sim city on my own. I have never published my creations. But again and again I had the idea to show people my creativity. I have never implemented the idea into reality. Now after 6 years of playing this game I decided to change that...... So I want you hereby present my project Alexandria - The Beauty of Sim city 4. A region which is still in its implementation and in the future, at least I hope, many things will happen .... The City Journal will not shine with special stories or outstanding Photoshop skills. What is essential in this journal are beautiful pictures of what with the hundreds of downloadable Lots and mods is possible in Sim city 4. Because I love the landscapes and cities of North America and Canada this theme will dominate in Alexandria. Thank you also for the many other City Journal that are here on simtropolis. You have always given me inspiration in recent years, so I can finally publish my own journal. But enough chatter! Here are the first pictures of a small town in my region. Solace was the first city I've made after 1 year of Sim City 4 break so this is just the beginning, a warm-up. A second much larger city is already almost completed. Photos of this city will follow in the next few days. In the future, I will also post photos of the still-nascent cities and landscapes. I hope you'll enjoy it.
