  1. INFO: Map Installation Instructions

My problem is I can't navigate to the file I need to open. After I hit ctrl+alt+shift+r, the window pops up but I'm unable to open the folder documents and settings, where my file is located. I can open everyother folder SAVE that one. Any one have the same problem?
  2. Building Variety

Hello everyone, it's been ages since I've posted here and even longer since I last played SC4. I recall an old problem I used to have regarding the number of buildings that actually popped up in my cityscape. I had 100's of bats in my folder, but it seemed that only a certain portion of buildings would grow. Has this issue been fixed yet? Was file folder management for the addons the key to getting a wide variety of buildings in your city? Thank you very much
  3. april 1st Snow Modd

The idea of an April fools joke is lost on you people. You don't advertise that it is a fraud, you play along.
  4. HK Arch 1

It sucks and I hate it. I hope the file goes corrupt and nobody can download this building. I'll give it a 10++, out of pity. Pity I say. But ya, it's a work of art.
  5. Faster PC, Slower SC4

Thanks for all the help people. My comment about the game being old is not a stab at simcity. I can run Rome Total War not on full settings but near full, and I don't have as many problems as I do with Simcity 4. I've been a Sim fan since 1991. I recall playing the earliest version, the only sound effect was a traffic honk every once and awhile. Believe me when I say that I've never played a game that is so CPU intensive. When you ctrl alt del to deskstop and check out how much CPU power Simcity 4 runs on, it's 99%. I've done the same with Rome Total War, and it's not even close.
  6. Faster PC, Slower SC4

I have about 600 MB in plugins, including the NAM. Do plugins cause the game play to slow down or just the initial loading of the game. I've got 2 GHz, 1 GB RAM, RADEON 9600 Saphire, and the game still runs like *****. I even tried setting it to HIGH PRIORITY and it even made it choppier. Once my game gets going and I have more buildings, the choppiness takes away from my enjoyment. I've erased the game. I can't take it anymore. The game is old. It's not cutting edge techonology. Yet it takes the latest and greatest to run it at full settings with fluidity. Virtual lmemory should be set to 3072 minimum and 4096 maximum How do I change my Virtual memory?
  7. Wild West Newspaper Office Telegraph Office and Dress Shop

You need to make a dirt street design aswell as cars to horses switch. Buses can be wagon. Cars can be horses. Industry can be mining and turn of the century revolutionary factories.
  8. City Life: Official Trailer

This is great news, a little compititetion will give us some variety and hopefully force Maxis to pull out the big guns on SC 5.
  9. Schiffenberg Monastery

I think I constructed this piece with the lot pack you posted previously, lol.
  10. Cities not sharing demand

The measuring device that simcity uses is very crude. My roads can read 1000 cars per section, then a few tiles up, on the same road, it can read 'none'. I'm sure the demand thing works much the same way. It's just really inaccurate. Simcity 5, no doubt, will have really good stats and demand indicators.
  11. Of Railyards and Steel Mills

Can I have a link to the bldingprops1 and 2.dat files. I can't find them on the maxis site.
  12. Show us your home City's skyline

Since this site is over run by Canadians, why not one more? Vancouver, British Columbia; the most beautiful city in Canada. Or at least people in BC think so, and probably Calgary, Edmonton, and every one else save those who reside in Toronto, Montreal, or any where in Nova Scotia.
  13. Schiffenberg monastery puzzel pieces

Great Idea, I love these 'connect them yourself' lots!
  14. AGS Pesapallo Stadium

Not only have I recieved a beautiful BAT, I've also learned something really cool. And that being, Fins are crazy! Kidding, I love Finland.
  15. Banner Walk

This will add to my avenues. Thank you very much!
  16. Doughnut Library

There is nothing good about it, they're just being friendly.
  17. Poorly Pre-Made Cities

I remember playing an older version of simcity; the pre made scenario was Flint. Job strikes started from the get go and you had to try keep sims employed. I also recall a nuclear disaster game and another one where traffic was a problem.
  18. BSC DEDWD ElRail Shops

The trains stop ontop of the shops, for a second or two, then start up again. Funny glitch, but sweet bat.
  19. rock sea

Cool map, but the cut and fill that simcity incorprates on hillsides looks wacky. So I wouldn't fair well on that map. But it is nice nonetheless
  20. BSC Canals Coal Wharf

Simgoober, you are the simcity master. This game should have fallen into obscurity a long time ago. But thanks to the likes of contributors suchas yourself, you've extended the life of this game greatly.
  21. Church Pack

Great idea. Viva Variety! I hated the Maxis church, it was so androgenous. It don't look like a Jewish synagoge nor a Christian church nor did it look like a muslim church. It was this ugly non-commiting peice of crap that plagued my cities for too long, till now.
  22. 2 dollars

"a two dollar bill for all you greedy people" lol
  23. Downtown High School

Post the dependencies. I'm so sick of this is sloppy book keeping here. People give so little information about lots. I've downloaded so many useless civic lots because they all turn out to be eye candy.
  24. Hang em high 4 at a time

WHy don't you make a "stalingrad" building. You can display frozen corpses, blowen up children and women, destroyed houses, small animations of Soviet Comissars killing their own troops, and to top it all off a gigantic crater filled with dead bodies and destroyed artilery.
  25. Airport Enhancement TransitEnabled Circular Terminals

It's just eye candy with no Airport service. Too bad, they look great.
