INFO: Map Installation Instructions
GreenTreeWater replied to bigstunna06's topic in Mapping Community Room
My problem is I can't navigate to the file I need to open. After I hit ctrl+alt+shift+r, the window pops up but I'm unable to open the folder documents and settings, where my file is located. I can open everyother folder SAVE that one. Any one have the same problem? -
Hello everyone, it's been ages since I've posted here and even longer since I last played SC4. I recall an old problem I used to have regarding the number of buildings that actually popped up in my cityscape. I had 100's of bats in my folder, but it seemed that only a certain portion of buildings would grow. Has this issue been fixed yet? Was file folder management for the addons the key to getting a wide variety of buildings in your city? Thank you very much

Thanks for all the help people. My comment about the game being old is not a stab at simcity. I can run Rome Total War not on full settings but near full, and I don't have as many problems as I do with Simcity 4. I've been a Sim fan since 1991. I recall playing the earliest version, the only sound effect was a traffic honk every once and awhile. Believe me when I say that I've never played a game that is so CPU intensive. When you ctrl alt del to deskstop and check out how much CPU power Simcity 4 runs on, it's 99%. I've done the same with Rome Total War, and it's not even close.

I have about 600 MB in plugins, including the NAM. Do plugins cause the game play to slow down or just the initial loading of the game. I've got 2 GHz, 1 GB RAM, RADEON 9600 Saphire, and the game still runs like *****. I even tried setting it to HIGH PRIORITY and it even made it choppier. Once my game gets going and I have more buildings, the choppiness takes away from my enjoyment. I've erased the game. I can't take it anymore. The game is old. It's not cutting edge techonology. Yet it takes the latest and greatest to run it at full settings with fluidity. Virtual lmemory should be set to 3072 minimum and 4096 maximum How do I change my Virtual memory?

Cities not sharing demand
GreenTreeWater replied to Comradesmith's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
The measuring device that simcity uses is very crude. My roads can read 1000 cars per section, then a few tiles up, on the same road, it can read 'none'. I'm sure the demand thing works much the same way. It's just really inaccurate. Simcity 5, no doubt, will have really good stats and demand indicators. -

Since this site is over run by Canadians, why not one more? Vancouver, British Columbia; the most beautiful city in Canada. Or at least people in BC think so, and probably Calgary, Edmonton, and every one else save those who reside in Toronto, Montreal, or any where in Nova Scotia. -
