  1. I'm Leaving the Community

    Thanks.
  2. I'm Leaving the Community

Sorry if it isn't relevant, but how can I upload @Haljackey's photos? Gallery can't handle more than 100 photos. Thanks.
  3. I'm so sorry, I'm officially out from the project due to my internet speed. My internet speed is slow to download all albums in short time, possibly distracting others. I don't know some albums are very large. So, I hope you download the uncompleted ones: Halton, Halton Hills, and Oak Ridges, especially ones with fast internet. Don't forget to download other members' albums as well. I want to upload the albums but I don't have places to do it. Is Simtropolis' Gallery is the answer? Regards, Zaydan
  4. Developing Our YouTube Channel

You should look at the bottom of the page!
  5. After a month break from my voluntary duty, I have back up 25 photos. The problem I'm experienced is some albums like Oak Ridges are very large in size. For part one alone, the size is 4 gigs, takes 3 hours to download with my internet. What do you think about this issue? Sorry for my breaks. Thanks.
  6. I think we should split custom content (yes, including maps etc) usage into 2 use: private and public. You can modify the content without permissions privately, but you can't (re)distribute to the public both original and modified ones without permissions the author or the representative (usually site staff). You can also (re)distribute the content with credits to the authors. But, there are fair uses. For instance, I can post the modified CAM for research in attachment, but I can't post it to the STEX without credits because exchanges can bring profit (or advantages or whatever) to the poster (credits, downloads etc). Archiving is also allowed, but it's recommended to ask the reps and other parties to make sure the content doesn't conflict with other contents. It's happened to with I hope this reply will defuse the tension. My licensing is just a framework, you can modify the license as an author. Sorry for my words. Be friendly to anyone. Thanks.
  7. @Namiko has been made Japanese-themed cities. He also made Indonesian-themed cities. You can check out his profile for more info. Thanks.
  8. It's Been a Bit...

Hi Joesocwork, Welcome back to Simtropolis! You also won't recognize me because I'm not a staff and more importantly, newer than you. If you have a beefy computers, then you should try Cities: Skylines. When the sale comes (tomorrow, maybe?), the game is becoming much cheaper, around half of the normal price. I would buy the game but my laptop only have integrated Intel GPU. If not, you should check out my guide (maybe moving to the forum is a good idea): Thanks.
  9. Hello, Sorry for my amateurish question. In the past, I'd installed CAM 2.1 and some other mods from the STEX and LEX. However, I don't get so much effect from "additional stages", etc. I did choose the Midrise setting though. Why I don't get benefits from CAM and its features? Thanks.
  10. Why I Don't Get Benefits from CAM?

I need clean farm, but I want more compatibility and more importantly, better growth. Should I use SPAM or CAM or even both? Thanks.
  11. I will break for a while from my activity. There are 14 done albums now. Don't worry about your images because I've a backup on my flash drive. I have a news for you: after I finishing some albums, I will be made my backups public. I'm intentionally made my backup private because I don't want some people to make a chaos. Stay tuned!
  12. Hello, For everyone who actively using Flickr and have over 1,000 images, and don't have place to backup, you can back the images up to me. It's completely free and the images will be organized. Send your Flickr profile address to me by PM. Here are albums from my (informal) client, Haljackey as of November 10, 2018 (thanks for the link!): Of course, the further progress will be informed down below. So, stay tuned!
  13. I participate saving your photos. Here are your albums in my laptop: Done albums. On going albums. Haven't done albums. I would like to tag the done, on going, and haven't done albums using colors but my file manager doesn't support it. So, I separated them with folders. For those who want to backup their CJs to me, then I give you the chance by PM. I also want to share my complaints. Why zipping the images took so much time? I do use adblocker and stable internet connection. And even without adblock, it still doesn't work. Fun fact, updating Minecraft is faster than waiting for the zip. Thanks.
  14. Hello, I've seen benchmarks shows that the latest iPad Pro can provide laptop-like performance thru Apple A10X, although with some controversies. Currently, it's the fastest Arm chip commercially available for tablet. Also, with the growth of Apple chips and production of the powerful Snapdragon 850, powerful yet still efficient processors going to lots of devices. The question is can Arm processors run heavy apps like full-fledged Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Blender, and heavy games like Cities: Skylines (heavy because it doesn't fully support integrated graphics) and triple-A titles? Nice to see if people carrying their tablet to model things in 3D and rendering it either while in travel or at home (depending on the complexity), or recording C:S gameplay on their phone, editing it using the full-fledged Premiere Pro and share it on YouTube. Thanks.
  15. Can Arm Chips Run Heavy Apps and Games

To be clear, I'm not having Windows because I don't how they update the user's system and other policies, and I will not using iPad 100%. iPads for light and (possibly) lighter-medium computing like photo editing and coding and laptop for heavier-middle and heavy tasks like video editing and gaming. But, there are clashes in laptop industry, especially on the Ultrabook one. For instance, the new MacBook Air is almost same as the previous-gen MacBook Pro with almost same price and the Retina MacBook is capable what the iPad did, minus macOS. I could buy the 2-in-1 one but if I'm installed Linux, it might not be optimal as on Windows. Also, the iPad is more common in my country than the Surface Pro for instance. What your solution to these clashes? Thanks.
  16. Can Arm Chips Run Heavy Apps and Games

Hello, I see the new iPad Pro is getting better and better. Here are the hand-ons: But, as a power user and personally I don't like Windows, I want to ask a question: what the setup you'll suggest if I'm buying the iPad? iPad and custom PC running Linux? iPad and iMac? iPad and MacBook/other laptops reinstalled with Linux? Or, another setup? Thanks.
  17. Hello, My school balance is about Rp300,000 ($20). I like sandbox and city building genre, so I want to buy Minecraft and SimCity 4. For Minecraft, because in my country there's no official way to buy the game other than credit card, the pricing on one of trusted seller Unipin is about 480,000 Unipin Credits, or about Rp500,000 ($33). For SimCity 4, it's about Rp136,000 ($10). I have a question: what game should I buy first for now? Thanks.
  18. ideas Site Suggestion Box

Simtropolis Fund Inspired by Blender's Development Fund and SC4Devotion's subscription, I want to suggest Simtropolis Fund, a recurring donation to Simtropolis starting from $5/month. The money then granted to people work on various fields, from site administration to even modding. The goal is to help progressing fields, especially for the stagnant ones and of course, benefiting the community in the end. For transparency, 5%-10% of the money is spent on that and we will provide a page shows some donators and the grants. Here's the price plan (per month): $5: bronze badges. $10: silver badges. $25: gold badges, your name will be on the donators page. $50: platinum badges, your name will be on the donators page. $100: diamond badges, your name will be on the donators page. For instance, the community has been raised about $100,000, the money will be spent as shown below: $20,000 will be spent on the site administration and development.. $30,000 will be spent on SimCity 4 activities. $30,000 will be spent on Cities: Skylines activities. $15,000 will be spent on the other game activities. $5,000 will be spent on transparency. If you've suggestion, you are welcome. I hope this will be accepted. Thanks.
  19. Hello, I struggling to laying out a city. I want to have properly laid out roads, properly spaced and sized airports, properly placed seaports, properly place parks and so on. Can you show me how to properly layout a city? Are there any tips with it? Thanks.
  20. How to Properly Layout a City?

Few days ago, I've watched a video from YouTube: Although it's for Minecraft and regarding landscape (I think landscaping is a part of layouting), I have a question. Are some tips from the video applies to SimCity 4 or other city builders? Sorry for my (maybe) weird reply. Thanks.
  21. SimCity 4 Startup Problems

Have you updated your Windows? If yes, you might have installed an update that disables SafeDisc from running (I'm forgot the update code because the post have been "hidden" since 2016). SafeDisc is a software to disallow unauthorized disc duplication for Windows apps and games. Because of security reason, Microsoft decided to completely remove it on Windows 10 and disable it on Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. Because you're using Windows 8.1, then follow this guide down below: https://www.howtogeek.com/230773/how-to-play-pc-games-that-require-safedisc-or-securom-drm-on-windows-10-8.1-8-7-and-vista/ My recommendation is to moving to Linux if you can. Because, there is a surprise for you: Steam is now supporting Windows games on Linux! To enable the feature, it's easy. Just follow this guide and run the game you have. I've using Linux for years now and there's no problem aside from the minor ones. Thanks.
  22. Hello, Yesterday, I've tried an internet cafe near me. Every PC has Steam client and the USB can be plugged. In my knowledge, Steam games can be made offline and their offline data is available. I'll leave that later. Which game should I buy up to around $20, Cities: Skylines or SimCity 4? I've missed the promo few days ago. Are there any another giveaways/promos on them? Also, if I made the game offline, can I copy the files to my USB drive? So, I don't have to download the game again, only the validation. No, I'm not supporting any kind of gray/black distribution of the game. It's only for personal use and for 1 PC (though is moving). Thanks.
  23. Game Questions

OK, there's a sale on Steam. It applies to almost all games, except SC4. In my country, it easier to find Steam Wallet rather than GoG Wallet. What the game should I buy? Mine has 4 gigs, rather than 8 gigs of RAM.
  24. Hello, My laptop has Intel HD 3000 and I have $8 on my school saving. I want to buy $5 Steam Wallet. There are discounts on Steam. Should I buy Cities: Skylines (around $5) or SC4 (almost same price)? Thanks.
  25. Monas Monument

Good job, @RandomDownloadLotsGuy! As I know, this file has been here for a while. Maybe, this is the replacement of the original file. Regarding to Indonesian SC4 community activity, it's like the global ones. It has been saturated since 2015/2016. That's because of, you know, Cities:skylines. If you compare the C:S topic and SC4 one on Kaskus, the largest Indonesian forum, you'll see the difference in activity level. The C:S one has 152 pages, while the SC4 one only gots 25. Yes, 25 pages. That measures how the saturated the SC4 be. So, I've started a topic on how to fix the saturation and the issues are in the game itself. The game has lots of limitation that hampers modding. There's few hopes for the SC4 until some breakthroughs has been unveiled. I'm Indonesian. Thanks. Edit: here's the original one:
