  1. Trying to get back on the saddle. Bought SC4 from Steam, installed it, everything OK, but Lot Editor not functioning. Have been told to add a command to the shortcut target property. Still doesn't work. Anybody here using Steam to play and also using the L.E. ? (I'm playing on a virtual Windows with Parallels. Have tried with empty plugins folder -- after test folder almost empty -- No cigar.)

    TL-Rivit Essentials V5 This replaces completely version 3 and 4 from now on. (you must remove any previous versions of this essentials) Contents of this essentials: · z0_rivit lights – essential light cones and poles on the TL lots. · z1_TL essentials – custom textures which might apear on TL lots. · z2_TL optional lightpole overrides – When usingV4 and above, and if you already have a lighting set-up (LRM or USL), the z2_ prefixed folder should be optional. The first file (RVT ParkLights2.dat) in this folder changes the maxis park light poles to a custom one, it’s an override and makes effect on all of the lots which using the original maxis park ligth with the original TGI ID. The second file (zTariel-LRMv4 US Generic Lightpoles_v2.dat) is a special override version of the light poles from the z0 folder, which have custom nightlite set-ups. By default you would not need this file. · z3_TL Divers – this contains a set of automata turned props, they were mostly used on the TL-SCF-Heretic Modular Regional Airport lots. It is essential to remove the version what was used in the Essentials v4 and only USE the version from v5. They were buggy (in V4) and had an odd side effect on the original automatas (drifting automatas) Installation: Remove any previous z____Tariely Mods or Tariel-Rivit's Essentials folder (particulary these files: · zLightCones_RVTNite.dat · RVT ParkLights2.dat · Rivit BSCTexturesCycledoggVol1Extra2.dat · Rivit BSCTexturesCycledoggVol1Extra.dat from the earlier versions (before v4). Also remove whatever files came with the Tariel-Rivit's Essentials V.04. Place/copy the z____Tariely Mods folder from this V5 into your plugins folder. Additional things which you might need to remove as residues of previous versions: · Z___RRW Reskin Rivit folder – this was released with V3, it’s an older version of Rivit’s RRW Reskin mod, not the most up to date, and if you are using a different RRW Reskin or will use a different one later, this might be conflicting with that one. If you want to use this Rivit version of the Reskin, please, visit his OneDrive and get the most recent one: rivits SC4Resources (latest RRW Reskin Kit) · RVT zNightLighting LRM tweak – this folder was released with the TL-Rivit Essentials V4 and contains a tweaked version of the original LRM. It’s actually mostly an either this or that decesion. You can remove this from your plugins if you are using USL or LRM, or you can remove those. You can also find the original version of this tweak in rivits SC4Resources (this is basicly the very first zip there). It changes night settings to somewhere between Dark Night and Maxis Night. If you are using this tweaked version, then you might want to use zTariel-LRMv4 US Generic Lightpoles_v2.dat from the z2_TL optional lightpole overrides which can be found in this Essentials v5. Disclaimer: the Rivit Lights (more precisely this file: zLightCones_RVTNite.dat) have been recut into this new Tariel-RVT LightCones.dat to work with this essentials and to have less side effect on other light replacement mods. Dependencies (yepp although it’s a dependency it has a few dependencies): MandelSoft's LRM v4.0 – it’s an installer based plugin. For the essentials you only need the models/props installation. You need the following files from this: LRMv4_Models_LightCones_DarkNite.dat (OR Maxis Nite version), LRMv4_Models_Streetlights_Misc.dat, LRMv4_Models_Streetlights_USA.dat BSC MegaProps JRJ Vol.02 – For the jeronij taxi props. Mikeseith modular 8Level Parking Garage – only the Airport Shuttle.dat file is needed from that one. Special thanks to Tyberius and Rivit, who rationalized this new version —it needed it ! And many thanks to my technical gurus, Rsc204, Kosc and Dreadnought. And especially Rivit, who lighted my SC4world and is always generously ready to help. And the guys and gals on the forums (Twalsh, Tyberius06, Matias93, Fantozzi, Cyclone Boom, Catty-cb, Corinamarie, Andreas…). We need help when we begin peeking under the hood of SC4. That the community is always there for us noobies is very comforting. NB : Two other dependencies that I used to include in my upload folders are now more easily available, one on the STEX, NOB Ftexture.dat , in NOB GLR Assortment for NAM and the other, ML Texture.dat. on the net (ML'S One Drive)

Hence the included RVT zNightLighting. Depending on your using or not a Light Replacement Mod, the lighting will be slightly different, but There Will Be Light. If you dont want it, you can either tweak my lights in the Lot Editor or get rid of them entirely. (5) I like trees. I make intensive use of trees. Especially Girafe tree collection on the LEX ; so here’s a link, once for all ; just follow it into the woods.

    Well, Guys, you all have been busy ! (me too on other things), what a cornucopia of goodies ! I only regret that nightlighting seems to have become so difficult that most of the talented new batters dispense with it (I'm the grumpy old grand-ma, OK). I understand, but I do lament it. Ah well. Before leaving before the next visit, let me wish you all a year that is as new and as peaceful as can be and with much love and community, at least.
