  1. XXXI ・ Reflection

    wow! kawaii town desu!!
  2. omg! these buildings are awesome! the yare exactly what i'm looking for! high density r$ buildings, they remind me of those federal housing projects that were developed by Uncle Sam back to the 60s.
  3. Intro, Bell-Nord Metropolitan Area

    pretty pretty!!
  4. Arcadia Metro I - Winchester/New Arcadia

great job! one day my region will look like that too! right now my biggest city has half of the population of new Arcadia.
  5. Chaning Building

it would be superb if this is growable!
  6. the terrain looks beautiful! but i imagine building a metropolis on this kind of terrain would be a challenge.
  7. My Sims Wont Die

you need to make sure both of your old and new cities are well connected with public transportations and highways, so sims in all your cities, both young and old will find jobs in the neighboring cities. currently, my region is rapidly approaching 300k pop, and my big city, which is still developing and growing has over 250k people, and almost all of them have a job. that's because my entire region is connected with evelated trains, subways, buses and highway. so all my sims can work and live in the surrouding cities. also it is a good thing to have long lived and well educated sims. they will be the stepping stones for getting big skyscrapers in the late game. finally, make sure you have NAM (network addon mod), this mod makes your sims' commute time more realistic. the default commute time in the villina game is too short, sims who travel only 1/3 way across the city consider themselve long travel time (but in real life most of us travel longer than that to get to work). remember, long travel time is the NO.1 cause for jobless sims, which always lead to abandoned buildings.
  8. Aphrodite's Garden

very well made! thx for the upload!
  9. Hello I'm trying to download some R$$ AND CO$$, i know they are in ST Exchange -> Building Bats. But when i go into building bats, it contains all the buildings from R$ to R$$$, C$ to CO$$$, low dense to high dense. so if i want the page show only CO$$, what should i do? if i just put CO$$ into the search bar, the page always shows "it cannot find such content"..... Best Regards
  10. How to search for content?

Yeah I think so too! don't know why they changed it。。。
  11. RAH Wat-Air Inc. v2

i installed the file, but my building doesn't look at this. it is a water pump located on a parking lot, and it is emitting green clouds...
  12. so for my current region, i was trying to play with the tax code, and i admit, i had failed. after desperately trying to save my creation, my cities just refuse to give me the amount of jobs that's required for the my sims. at the end, i had more than 55K commercial jobs, which is more than enough to trigger skyscrapers, given that the cap is 43650, however, those skyscrapers, they never came. even though the demand from high wealth resident in my 4th city (the destined to be downtown city) was over 7k, but the demand for high tech job and commercial job are simply not high enough to accommodate the amount of high wealth resident that's coming into the city. the demand for commercial buildings were very stagnant and sometimes even dropping as my high wealth moving into the city. and soon after they settle, they became unemployed, and their buildings are abandoned. and those high wealth residents were never able to get the demand for commercial $$$ jobs to spike again, so at the end, my city collapse, and i became a broke mayor. after my failure, i went on to youtube, and start looking for vids where people don't play with the tax code until they absolutely have to. and i found a youtuber, who had 45 simcity 4 vids. and, i was amazed at how bad his city planning skill is, his cities aren't even organized in grids, he just built wherever there is space (however, he is smart enough to separate the dirty industry from residential buildings and commercial buildings), and for the longest time, he was just following what RCI tells him to build. but at the end, after only building on 3 mid size maps, and with a decent size population, his demand for everything actually went up. at first i thought he was using demand mods, but then, after seeing different kinds of building poping up at the same time, i realize his city demand was legit. (every single one of his city has bad traffic problems, because he has no highways, and the roads are messed up, but businesses and people were still coming in, it reminds me of the cities in China and how bad their city planning is, but people are still moving into those cities millions at a time) as a result, for my next experiment, i will do exactly what this youtuber has done, don't play with tax code, and just build what the RCI tells me to do, and just get as much pop as possible, and i will see what will happen in the end.
  13. Hello My current city has a small population of 15K people, and it has very high demand for R$ and farmland. I also have some small demand for commercial. my demand for dirty industry has died off, and i didn't do anything with the tax rate. I'm just wondering if this demand pattern is normal. my sims are also pretty well educated with both elementary schools and high schools. so, if i want to deal with the agriculture demand, should i just start a neighboring city, and building a ton of farmland? i also realized that my sims are not working on the farms, even their apartment is right next to one. I'm also looking for some good looking R$ buildings to make my city look more diverse. thanks for reading
  14. Currently, i'm making 3K surplus in my main city, right now i have around 20k pop, most of my sims are within the elementary school and high school coverage radius. also, i had unlock Harvard university, i guess i will build Harvard, and put some libraries for my sims
  15. i don't have any demand mod installed for my simcity, and as i stated previously, this time, i will try to build a city without doing anything to taxes
  16. NDEX DRK Tower by DT and EB

    well made! keep it up!
  17. I have failed

i can't relate to the w/e vids you are discribing. however, i do understand that the surrouding tiles provide demands to each other. what i meant is eventally, i can have a city tile with 1 million pop
  18. I have failed

wow! 1 year?! i don't think i will have that much patience. but at the same time, i doubt the game is designed to make a person play the same region for 1 year.
  19. I have failed

thank you very much for those tutorial suggestions, i will look through them when i have time! i hope one day i will have a city with 1 million pop, and i will probably post pictures about it too. :)
  20. don't forget, a lot of those beauty comes from terraforming as well! moutains, rivers, and ocean make your region and cities look nice!
  21. I have failed

it's my dream to get a city with around 1 million sims. my question is, how does one have constant demand for everything so a city of such scale can be created? my new rig has intel Xenon, 16 GB of RAM, GTX 980 4GB overcloaked, and 1TB of HDD, and 250 GB of SSD, so i think my rig can render a city with 1M sims.
  22. Right now my main city has three surrounding cities (each of them has 20K-30K pop), i play with tax code because i want all the skyscrapers in my 4th city. so for these three cities, i have made CO$$$ and CS$$$ tax rate at 20%. however, currently in my 4th city, the demand for office is negative (after i change the tax rate for CO$$$ and CS$$$ to only 1%)! how is this even possible, my other three cities has 0 CO$$$ jobs. do i need to scrap my 4th city and rebuild?
  23. Wagner Hotel

    wow! looks very nice!!
  24. they did that with mostly NAM, realistic highway mod, high speed rail mod, yeah you get the idea, lots and lots of mod. but if you are looking for how beautiful the villina game can look like, check this guy out, he basically hasnot used any mod
  25. Is my city bugged?

thanks a lot for the feedback. i think you point actually goes back to building up the cities slowly but surely. i believe the main reason for having a large populaton in the surrouding ctiy before building downtown (a city with lots of skyscrapers) is to actually break the prop cap for skyscrpaers. now the math is, you need 43560 commercial jobs at min in your entire region to make skyscraper grow, and this number includes C$ C$$ AND C$$$. however, without a large pop, a region can't really have that many Commercial jobs. so i will keep playing with the tax code in this exercise, and then in my next region, i will leave the tax code be, and see what my region will become. the other reason why i want to play with the tax code, is because i don't want dirty or manufaturing industry to grow in my 4th city, because i want to air quality to be super clean, so more R$$$, high tech and C$$$ will come.
