The Chanin Building is a brick and terra-cotta skyscraper located at 122 East 42nd Street, at the corner of Lexington Avenue, in Midtown ManhattanNew York City. Built by Irwin S. Chanin in 1929, it is 56 stories high, reaching 197.8 metres (649 ft) excluding the spire and 207.3 metres (680 ft) including it. It was designed by Sloan & Robertson in the Art Deco style, with the assistance of Chanin's own architect Jacques Delamarre, and it incorporates architectural sculpture by Rene Paul Chambellan.

The building was designated a New York City landmark in 1978, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

First of all, thank you for sharing your creations with us here on Simtropolis! It's much appreciated. All your buildings show much promise and talent, but there are also some aspects where there's room for improvement. Therefore, I'd like to echo _B's comment on your last upload: Have you thought about opening a BAT thread here? It is clear that you have what it takes to make great stuff, and with some constructive feedback and help from the experts, you could take full advantage of your potential. As good as this is (especially for a gmax BAT), I am confident that you are capable of even more! :) However, it'll take some feedback, hints, and help from others. I'd be glad to help out where I can, but a thread would be a better place for this.

In any case, thanks once again and keep 'em coming!
