  1. So a few years ago I had a go at bating. Unfortunately due to computer issues I never got around to finishing any of them, and long since lost the files. A bit of a shame really; I was nearly done modeling these two sets of buildings, all they really needed were nightlites and some desaturating of the textures. Oh well. Last weekend, for some odd reason, I decided to reinstall SimCity 4 and play it. But, after downloading a ton of new content, I found I still couldn't make the cities I wanted (mostly modern urban Dutch). The first thing that bothered me was the lack of varied in utilities, specifically pumping stations. So I looked up some modern pumping stations here in the Netherlands, and, the idiot that I am, downloaded gmax to see if I could make something of it: The first one I had a go at was a largish sewage pumping station: Unfortunately this is the material it is made out of, and I am not quite sure how to texture this. I have half a mind of simply modelling the panels instead of texturing it. In the mean time I decided to model another pumping station, a small drainage pump this time: It has the same issue with texturing, so oh well. While looking through pumping stations here in the Netherlands, I came across this little thingy and decided it also really needed modelling (for a change it is an actual ground water pumping station!): It is actually coming along quite nicely. I just need to finish the doors, add the rain gutter and some roof junk. I possibly need to figure out how to model a few pumps to fill the large frontal roof if the windows are going to be transparant (ugh...) At the same time I was really annoyed by the power utilities in the game. So yeah... I came across this funky little substation, and since it takes no effort to model had a go at it: Not sure if there is interest in this sort of thing though. I also created this substation (could also work as an industrial lot). I want to make it a wall to wall lot, but, as the roof is overhanging to the sides, I don't know how to go about it. And, if I ever feel confident enough to do so, I'd love to have a go at this power plant. The turbine halls are simple enough, but the chimney seems daunting. Anyway; thoughts and suggestions? Compliments or hate is also welcome. Oh, and IrfanView apparently does not like transparency. I hope you can ignore the black outlines on the images, they are not supposed to be there.
  2. I have never seen this problem before. I have used these for months without problem, now water will not travel beyond the area that the facility alone can provide. I have a water distance mod to cover more ares with less pipes but this is the first time I have ever seen all pipes connected and connected to the center of the facility but no water! Does anybody know what the problem could be? Samurott is the water provider and the Suicune next to it is the purifier. I used these two many times but this is the first time I have ever seen water not travel away from the facility.

    <p>Here is yet another Mass Effect BAT, though not a model from the official game. Set on the fictitious human colony system Ferust, Mast-One Station serves as a secretive, private and covert human research platform that allegedly experiment and tamper with Element Zero or eezo. But to cover up there illegal scientific operations, the station also supposedly is nothing more than a utility complex, supplying the real research stations with water from underground aquifers and in some cases, produces electricity.     The texture dat file and lotting by @Simmer2 This is a historical recycle centre with a twist. It lowers the city's garbage production as 20 %, the same amount as the Maxis Recycle Center, but Steptoe & Son offers the recycling with much lower cost. However they are not up to modern health and safety standard and thus the lot is really an eyesore. Not only it pollutes the environment, but it has negative impact on the park effect and mayor's rating, not to mention that is a NIMBY building. There are three different sized lots and each of those have a slight garbage disposal capacity. Thus these lots can help your garbage problem. I have felt that SC4's Vanilla's Landfills have too inefficient and cost too much, so I have often used user created garbage facilities, such as Simpeg's garbage barge. My lots are intended for early and small cities to stop the garbage to accumulate. Simmer2 has been invaluable help to implement this idea and he has made custom lot texture, which really complement the lot. I have made the BAT building and most of the props are from splendid Historic Harbour. I am very pleased to see how the lot, the textures, the BAT and the props really complete each other. The 3x3 Scrap Yard lot has functional and pathed STR rail connection. Both passenger and freight trains can travel through the lot. This railtransit lot required NBVC's recycle center as a dependency. The BAT is HD and both Maxis Night and Dark Night versions are available. The building has a custom foundation and it can tolerate moderate slopes. Note on custom query. I have made custom queries for these lots and I have used correct Maxis data Ids. However there is an error on monthly garbage disposed information. It shows incorrect amount disposed and there seems to be a decimal error. When the query informs that 10 tons garbage was disposed, the actual amount is 1 ton. Please note when reading the query information. I don't have skills to correct this error as it seems to in the Maxis files.     RAH Wat-Air Inc. v2 This is the latest updated version (June 2015) of my Wat-Air Inc. lot. (Wat-Air Inc. v2) It's the final creation and will clean the water and air in a small to medium city. Please replace any older versions with this version 2. It's the better of them. It must be connected to your main water supply or used as the main water supply for it to work properly. Connect those pipes from the pump to that flange! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Description: Got water pollution? Got air pollution? Need water treatment? Need air treatment? Need water purification? Need air purification? Well, brother, you've come to the right lot. You are looking at a revolutionary breakthrough in clean air and clean water. This process sucks all the air it can suck into the large turbo sucker than separates the H2 from the O found in the air and reprocesses the air into large green ionization balls which are than expelled from the top of the big blue ionization building. The 'smoke' you see is nothing more than hot steam used in the process. Backed by little steam injectors, they expel the ion balls into your city's atmosphere. The steam also keeps those little green buggers soft and pliable while they float around your city devouring any and all nasty particles in the air. It's revolutionary, I tell you! The 'waste' from the breaking down of the H2 from the O is 99.44% pure so it can be pumped back into the water system, completely cleaning all grunge and any nasties it finds. Yup, you heard right! Back into the main water system! These little goodies are called waterons and work like tiny microscopic scrubbing bubbles floating around throughout your water system. It's revolutionary, I say! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note 1: It was tweaked to clean two nasty coal burning power plants and one incinerator I have in one of my city's. If you have more dirty industry than that, you may need to plop two or more of them. It is also residential and commercial friendly. It can be plopped most anywhere. I've kept the stats within reason keeping it from being an actual CHEAT lot. The updates are: Increased radius area out to 144. Increased the plop cost from 10,000 simolians to 15,000 simolians. BUT reduced monthly costs from 500 to 200 simolians. Reduced garbage output. Added a small water pump, the same as the small water pumping station in the game. And a couple other minor unimportant thingys. Note 2: Don't forget to connect this lot to your main water supply or use it as the main water supply for it to work properly. Connect those pipes from the pump to that flange! Stats: Plop cost: 15,000 simolians Monthly cost: 200 simolians Bulldoze cost: 1,000 simolians Jobs Generated: 600 ($=100, $$=200, $$$=300) Installation: Unzip the 'RAHWatAirIncv2.zip' folder and place the lot file in your, My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder.     SM2 NUTS VDK Swan Mill Power Plant. A beautifully rendered coal power plant building by vester (VDK). This one is for my team. The NUT team. Lotting, modding and custom textures by Simmer2. Both freight trains and passenger trains will traverse the lot east to west. Just run the rail line through the lot and connect the street entrance to a street. The STR stub will only connect visually. You will find it in your power menu. Lot size 20x14 Plop cost = 68,500 Monthly cost = 1,550 Power output = 39,200 MWh Jobs $196 $$104 $$$13 There are 2 versions of this lot. One with all the proper stats attributed to a heavy polluter for the hardcore players and one with ZERO emissions for anyone who still wants the lot in their maps but do not want to deal with the pollution.   10. Zinfandel : Impressions

    P. R. 's week-end in Zinfandel was coming to a close, the buzz of the Big City was getting too loud for her country girl's ears. She was ready to leave, with a jumble of impressions stored in her mind (and camera). First : clean, that city is clean, Switzerland-like clean. Even both its dumps are clean, though they partly process the garbage of Eden Bay -- there has been talk of closing the big one down, P. R. has been told. Which would be silly, so the Mayor stands firm. But at least people really don't mind living near them. Or close to the waterworks, for that matter : The East Market rail station : The Mayor's posh mansion, near the regal City Courthouse : The bunkery City Hall, with the Central Balthazar Market, and the university Central Station by night (Nocturnals can have a drink there at any hour, it never closes.) And that's from there that P. R. not bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, went back to Kathy Vale... going... going... gone -- she snored all the way back and almost missed her stop.

All Lots have some differences but look quite same.
