13 pointsSmall model that I`m working on lately. It can became a 1x2 mid density residential, possibly R$$ if I`m happy with the final results. Next I will be working on the night lightning.

7 pointsHi, I made this fun little project where you can navigate freely and zoom-in the city of River Junction up close. Here you go: https://saustartar.vercel.app/ I started this city a while ago and been building it through my gameplay videos on Youtube. And this collage preview I made was inspired by the amazing Isometric NYC by @ _coehen Enjoy!

4 pointsI've fixed this now. As Cori said, it was a bug caused by me modifying the column widths. I've made sure they don't keep changing width between each page of the table now. In the Activity Log, I've added a few extra filters such as "Note Related" which lists all new notes and replies. I figured that might help to check those in one place. Also I created a new "File Logs" option inside the File Actions menu. That allows viewing all logs from a given file entry. For the links issue, it might be they were already broken before the site crash. We can always fix those if worthwhile while at it.

4 pointsYes, indeed. Please do! You can even use the new option in Edit Details to access the pics without creating a new version if you want. (Or go ahead and upload a new version so it'll say last updated by your name.)

4 pointsHiya, @o.noa. Welcome to Simtropolis! For SC4, I believe the very best place to start would be the sc4pac (Mod Manager). I'm not yet in a position to use it myself, but I've been following its development all along and it looks damn impressive. For SC5 (aka SimCity 2013 or SC2013), you're pretty much on your own. There are some mods here for it, but it's all but abandoned by most everyone.

3 pointsHave you limited SC4 so it only runs on a single core of your CPU? The most common reasons for scrolling/zooming issues, is from not having done this. The best solution is to use the following DLL mod, mandatory for modern P/E Core processors:

2 pointsAfter a bit of a hiatus, I've come back to SimCity 4 and decided to start a new region. I have two maps in contention, both of which were downloaded from the STEX, and both of which I have been modifying with a mix of GIMP, SC4TerraFormer, and SC4 Mapper. The goal being to make each map more playable. Is been a fair amount of work... I'm talking tens of hours worth of work for each map, which got me wondering whether any other users would like to play my modified versions of the maps. If I have made significant modifications to a map downloaded from the STEX, what is the etiquette around me potentially re-uploading them (with credit to the original mappers of course)? NOTE: both creators of the maps in question, haven't been online for several years. So I can't just ask their permission.

2 pointsTo really do it properly involves altering all those timed RKT4 values to non-timed RKT1 values and properly converting the mod to a non-seasonal one. The problem with that is that in order to do this, you must remove all god mode flora planted with the existing tree controller or face potential problems. So if you have not been using Cascadia previously or only intend to use your altered version in a new region, all will be fine. Original flora (RKT4): 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x27812821, 0x5AD0E817, 0x7DD101DA, 0x00030000, 0x00000001, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x27812821, 0x5AD0E817, 0x3DAC2AE2, 0x00030000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x27812821, 0x5AD0E817, 0xFD06549F, 0x00030000 Becomes RKT1 (you have to change the Property Type): 0x5AD0E817, 0xFD06549F, 0x00030000 Essentially you just keep the final three values or Reps, because you no longer need to define three separate models or other data on how and when to display them. The problem with this method is that you are still switching between 3 models, likely even though they won't appear to change, this will still trigger the stuttering, because the game in that moment has a lot of work to do. The only difference is now each model is the summer one, rather than a unique seasonal variant. So again, if you really want to convert a Seasonal Mod into a non-Seasonal one, it is much better to actually do that, than continue to use a seasonal mod but force it to show Summer trees in every season. If you wanted an even easier method, you could simply make two copies of the Summer tree textures (FSH). Alter the IDs of one to the Autumn ID for the same tree, then likewise for the Winter variant for the second copy. Now, instead of altering all the 'links' so they end up with the same Summer tree, what you've done is alter the Models directly. This means, regardless of where Seasonal versions of them were used, every instance of those trees would now always show the Summer version. But of course, there is once again the drawback that you are still technically running seasons, when you don't need or (trust me on this), want to be.

2 pointsI am capable of replacing the images that were uploaded for my restored STEX files, I hope? Half of the ones that were uploaded in lieu of the originals show my BATs from the rear - which, with all due respect, makes about as much sense as a child turning around to face the back wall right before their school photo is taken.

2 pointsHiya. Welcome to Simtropolis! Btw, we noticed your first post over in the SimCity 4 General Discussion forum wherein you posted only the larger image from Stargate SG-1. We didn't approve that one since it's unrelated to the area you posted in.

2 pointsHi, made this fun little project where you can view a huge collage of the city and navigate it freely to see it up close. Here's the link: https://saustartar.vercel.app/ It's a collage of 30 to 40 zoom-5 images and it'll take a moment for the image to load since it's >100MB. Also, I got the inspiration from the Isometric NYC made by @ _coehen Enjoy!

1 pointSo it's more how Flora and Seasonal Timings work. The data you see in the RKT4 property, is formatted as groups of 8 Reps of data, each is for one single model. For complex reasons, the order has to be Autumn, Winter, Summer for seasonal trees to work. You can not use more than 3 seasons with Flora, and the timings are sort of preset too. Hence, you can be fairly certain that regardless of what seasons were used, it's the final ID that will be the summer one.
-
1 pointNo advice to offer on the matter, but following this out of interest. Using the seasonal variant of Aerden, but mostly because of the pretty autumn colours. Would love a permanent version of that.

1 pointHello sir, I've just updated the plugin to version 1.0.4 - the new version has an experimental feature called ALT angle lock in modern camera mode. Hold ALT and it will lock to the nearest Classic Camera angle. You may freely move around while locked to this angle. Release ALT to return to the previous angle.

1 pointSince the shutdown, I've actually spent a large amount of time playing Tropico, but I've finally come around SimCity 4 again and I'm remodeling an old park: I might have to restart a number of poxed cities in my region, unfortunately. That has really brought me down, but at least there's a pleasantness in building these lovely curved entrances.

1 pointBridge oddities continued ! Last I brought up oddities wich where perfectly logical. Today I have another sample of this maxis bridge . This compaired looks Ok as it´s not shrunken at the middle ! Drawpath however reveal this bridge is non functional so it seem ! Some more functional fitting sample seem ! 1 pointThanks for the update for Windows long file names! I really wanted to compare my personally added plugins to those from SC4PAC! And now, I can! I won't touch your plugins along with those from @rsc204, @hugues aroux, and @Aka because you all know what you're doing, but I found some things to clean up because I don't always know what I'M doing with this game!

1 point@kschmidt That's a cute region! Really curious that it looks so developed and it has such a low population, I get the impression that it's mainly farms and scattered villages, no big urban development just yet, in spite of the extensive rail network and the rapidly expanding road network. Over here I have the Kingdom of Borike in its 97th regional view update! I've been focusing on preparing the terrain along the north coast, which I'll hopefully complete by the 100th regional view update. Population stands at about 5.4 million inhabitants, by the end it should be somewhere between 12 and 15 million, if I follow the same development pattern of the populated areas. Aerial view with labels: Transportation view:

1 pointAdding onto the park antics, the town of Sabaneque went with a lower cost design, an open grass area with paths, gazebos and flowering trees to adorn the landscape!

Electric Car Recharge Bay, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- This Electric Car Recharge Bay is designed to replicate the real-world set up of electric car recharge stations. In game it acts as a 4x1 parking lot. It is lotted with seasonal trees and is network enabled. As you can see from the pictures, placing them side-by-side along a roadway can really change the look and feel of individual roads, to help convey that all important 'sense of place' that is otherwise very difficult to achieve in SC4. It uses the parking lot as the basis for its modding, with additional features. In game, parking lots should be placed near mass-transit stops to get the best results (Sims drive their car to the parking lot and switch to bus, rail, etc for the remainder of their journey). These lots can be used away from mass transit stations, but they will never reach capacity if used in such a way....that's how the game works. Additionally, you can plop buildings with jobs or zone commercial areas alongside the electric car recharge stations and they won't abandon: please note, however, you should provide another network connection if you want sims to actually use the buildings. You can see an example of this in action in the 7th picture where I have connected a commercial building via pedmall pieces. As an added bonus, these Electric Car Recharge Banks will provide a commercial boost to surrounding areas: after all, the Sims will want to buy a coffee or spend money while waiting for their cars to recharge. These electric car recharge banks also make great median fillers in between on-way roads, etc. It is found in the Miscellaneous Transit Menu (about 2/3rds the way down). --------------------------------------- STATS ELECTRIC CAR RECHARGE BAY: Lot size : 4x1 Bulldoze Cost: § 0 Plop Cost: § 0 Capacity: 4,000 vehicles Jobs: CS§ 2 Landmark Effect: +80 over 20 Pollution: 1 (Air)/ 1 (Water)/ 2 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 8 Mwh Water Consumed: 0 Gal/Month Monthly Cost: § 10 Occupant Group: Transportation, Misc Transit --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: There are two model files in this download. The file suffixed with 'MN' is for users who do not have any such mods installed. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. Inspired by a parking garage I recently saw in Reno, Nevada. That one had classic cars in the windows outside the elevator, which were there to advertise a nearby car museum. I just thought it added interest to it, so incorporated it into this one. There are also retail shops on the street level. Mod Edit: Fixed broken description formatting. -
