Hi,everybody.I'm new to the website so please welcome me and give me some useful information.I need to know how to build houses,manage city economy,install downloaded files from internet...etc...etc...I got the sim city box.there is deluxe edition disk #1 and deluxe edition disk #2 Both disks contain sim city 4 and rush hour.The disks are not identical.They have slightly different pictures on them.Do I have to install both or can I just install 1?

Hey KonstantinII, Welcome to Simtropolis!

Well I see that you need help with the installation, this is the process...

1. Insert Disc 1 on your computer

2. Wait for the Autorun, then click Install.

3. Fill out the Codes

4. Follow the instructions on the computer. Wait for a message that says "Please Insert Disc 2"

5. Insert Disc 2

6. Wait for the installation to be finished.

If you want to download files, go to the STEX and click anything you want. There you will see the download button. Click "Download". Then just place the file on My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins.

Hi all, newbie here! :) I've been playing Sims games since the original Sim City through to Sim City 3000.  That was a few years ago now, I've just bought Sim City 4 today along with the Rush Hour expansion pack.  I'm definitely a total newbie with regards to Sim City 4, and generally with the Sim City games because it's been so long since I've played.  I will be checking out the forum but if anyone has specific things I should be downloading or mods to add please let me know... I've been reading about NAM but no idea what it is?

Well Tammie, NAM, also known as the Network Addon Mod, is a modification of your cities' transport options. It adds many different kinds of road, rail, highway, and public transit options, such as tramways and even wide avenues. Well here are the essential NAM files...

guess I might as well introduce myself...

I'm Loki, 30 years old, live in alberta canada... and I am severely addicted to simcity

problem started when i was around the age of 11, when the very first simcity came out on super nintendo... I have played the livin crap outta all the games in the series, and is not uncommon for me to go on 12-14 hour binges... I just can't get enough :|

anyhoo... see ya'll in the forums!

love this site by the way, been lurking for a few years, figured maybe it's time to join in lol

Most people call me Red for short and that is ok if you call me that. I am 14 years old and live in Southern California. I just got SimCity 4 in June and been playing ever since. I thought no one still played SimCity 4. But I gusse SimCity 4 had the same case as Spore where Maxis left the game and community. My main interests are Science, Anthropology, and History. I have a pet Leopard Gecko and just got a new High powered computer. My main goal in coming to Simtropolis was to download mods to improve Vanilla SimCity 4, but I also would to discuss SimCity too.

Hi!

I'm 40, married with 2 dogs, 2 cats and an aquarium of fish. I am self-employed as a web analytics consultant, and I work from home - which allows me to sneak in a little bit of gaming here and there when I have some downtime between projects. :)

I've played SimCity since the classic one came out and have been patiently waiting for a new version. I am hoping the one in 2013 is better than Societies was (I'm glad Maxis is back at the helm again!). I'll remain optimistic until I get a chance to play it.

Name: Leon. Location: Manchester, England. Occupation: Part owner of Family business. Interests: Trance. Gaming. Very new to the site and very new to the game simCity4. But i do like Constructive games. And my friends have told me this is the game i should of played. so now i have SimCity4 i really would like to know how to get started on using ''Mods'' Not sure what i require in order to install mods for this game. i use mods on some other games i play.But like them they have a Mod-client. Not seen one for this game if there is one? Would appreciate any advice on how i can install Mods for this game. Thanks.
