I came here because my cities always get to a certain point and then plateau, stagnate, and decline, and I'm hoping to find a way to prevent that and keep my cities growing. @FrenchThom - Oooooo! There are some people who have been keeping their CDs since the launch of SimCity 4 but you're probably the first person I know of that bought it on the launch date.

I heard somethings about it 1 or 2 weeks before the launch date and I immediately been interested ! The day of the launch date I was at a FNAC in Aix-En-Provence and when I saw the game behind the window , I made " des pieds et des mains " ( translation : crying and yelling until my parents have a mental breakdown ) to get it and in the evening I eventually obtained my Sim City 4 !

But years after years , by changing an house for an other and so on ... Destruction of all types and so on ... I had to change it 3 times since 2003 and the CD that I use right now is from 2010 !

The best thing to me about SC4 is that it was launched on my birthday. I consider it my all time best birthday present. Certainly the one I use the most!

Hello everyone. I'm from Indonesia and. SC4 is my 1st (and last) SimCity series I have. Got it as a gift from foreign friend since it's a little hard to get original copy here. Back to play when SC5 preview shown up on my Google search, just to be disappointed when knowing the requirement.

After nearly 2 years absent, I'm amazed by how the SC community grow (and still growing after nearly 10 years post-release), and how I miss some of most important addition to the game (NAM, bugfix, etc) which probably will help me endure the torture of city bankruptcy back then.

Being an avid SimCity fan, I'm feeling slightly ashamed I didn't discover this site earlier. With the upcoming release of 2013, I've decided to jump back into 4. I feel the reboot of the series has reinvigorated my enthusiasm for the game. Hello good residents of Simtropolis!

I've been around this site just a little over 6 months or more and just now I've decided to bash in.

First time I met Sim City was on my old Mac - in 94' or so. I played the first ever from 89', Sim City 2000 and since the original Sim City 4 came out, I went to buy it! Loved it ever since. But, haven't played it for a while (8 years or so) because I didn't understand the concept of building my very own big city. Simtropolis helped me alot and I'm loving ever second of it.

I post slow because I have some bad vision loss (goes in and out very blurry), I have glasses but I don't wear them xD. My dream is to be a helicopter pilot.

And it seems that everybody here are working with games. I only have sim city 4 deluxe edition and I am very exited about sim city 5. And my English aren't the best.

Hi everybody. I'm a long time SimCity fan, even if I did miss out on SimCity 4 ( I played up until Sim City 3000). I'm really just a big fan of strategy games in general. I've played everything from Simcity, to Civilization, Alpha Centauri, and even Star Wars: Rebellion (if anyone remembers that). Right now I'm playing X-COM: Enemy Unknown. I'm pretty excited about Sim City 5, even though I'm not a huge fan of the always online mechanic, the game just looks too fun and impressive to pass up.

Came here looking to find some peeps to play the game with when it comes out because none of my IRL friends are really into SimCity. Hope to see you all around.

I've been a member here for several months and never knew about this part of the site . anyway my name is Barry and I'm a SC4alolic . I live in south Texas and work as a nurse and I'm an EMT as well. I first played this game while visiting family for a week a couple of years ago. I immediately got addicted and when I left I went through withdraws. After awhile I forgot about it time several months ago I saw it and plunged back in with both feet . After Christmas I got a little burned out but now I'm back in it and <3 making cities, regions, and rural areas.

Hello All,

You can all call me Luna. I've been around the SimCity world since SimWorld was released in 1990 (I was in college then!!! Time goes by quick, doesn't it?).

I have played and owned SimCity 2000, 3000 and now 4. I am not too warm to the idea of SimCity 2013 with its mandatory internet requirement. Seems to me it will turn out like another FarmVille! And I agree with the people who are saying that if Maxis decides it doesn't want to support the game anymore, we're screwed.

Only recently have I been looking at the forums. I wanted to do things in my city that I couldn't and now I found the wonderful world of plugins! And how exciting is it to know a NAM 31 is coming out soon! I really hope people around here are going to keep producing those wonderful plugins even if 2013 is out...

In any case, I am not likely to post much but I will be reading and looking at the pictures. Man, people around here have some serious city creating talents! I wish I had half of what you all got!

Yeah, That's why I prefer the new mods over the new game, I would want the game to be more aged when I play it, but then there's no use of it since the servers will be severed anyways.
