Hello, I've been looking around this site. I played Sim City once upon a time ago (and Sim Life and Sim Earth on 486K computers when they were the new thing). I've recently become addicted to The Sims 3, which in turn led me back to discover SimCity4. I was able to get SimCity 4 Deluxe when Origin had that cupon code thing, and well have fallen in love with another game. I do use mods in my Sims 3 game and would not mind doing so in this game...and really came here because I accidently deleted a pre loaded region (I loaded it, decided I didn't want to play, and well the game deleted the whole map). I'm just still glad there is a fan base of this game. So Hi!

My names theghost, if you have not noticed yet, im 17, 18 in march, learning to drive, currently at college studing Performing art Level 3 btec, this is my 2nd year at college but my first year on the course. So on this course, if you wish to know more please continue reading, I have to dance, act and sing. Plus a heap of written work. I work with a profession or two if im lucky. And I basically get thrown into it really.

FUN FACT: 85% of all actors, world wide, are out of work. That is how difficult this indistury is. If you manage to get a job, even if its minimum wage, you take it on and work hard because one referance turns to two, which turns to four, etc.

Hi, I recently started playing SC4 again and have been lurking the forum for a couple months. Just wanted to say hello, and Thank You to the forum and community for the wealth of knowledge, content, and inspiration found here.

I am truly in awe of the work, and artwork here, I think it's astounding! The SC4 community has kept this game alive all of these years, and brought the game-play to heights probably never intended, or even imagined, by Maxis.

Anyway, thanks for the inspiration, and keep up the great work!

I call myself Phoenyx Imperius on the internet (though I usually just go by Phoenyx). I prefer to keep my real name private as to keep my personal life seperate from my online activities.

I stumbled across this forum while searching for mods and addons for SimCity 4. I considder myself half-decent at the game and am glad to have found a resource for info and strategies, as well as visual and mechanics mods (mainly for realism purposes).

I am also a member of Rock Raiders United, a forum devoted to modding LEGO Rock Raiders and more recently other LEGO games (besides the Travlers Tales games - we've determined that those are almost impossible to mod without having access to the developer's tools).

Chances are I'll be more focused on browsing through mods and strategies instead of being an active member of the comunity.

Well hi there. long-time SimCity fan here. I am no master at Sim City 4, but I can give some good tips.

Do not try and go for a booming skyscraper city right off the bat... it won't happen. Take it a step at a time. Make sure your Sims have the amenities and services they need, but do not be too eager to provide them. Watch your budget, and tend to your providance levels for the applicable buildings. Do not provide more than is needed at first. This will save you money and keep you in the green. For instance, a fire station is not really needed until your first fire. A Coal Power Plant does not need full funding if the total populous only needs 20%. More trees and parks are helpful and can cut down on pollution and raise desireability. I like to line my streets with trees.

Keep in mind the on-going process of this game. Do not be afraid to play around either... you can always Obliterate your City in God Mode and start again. Get the feel and do not be afraid to doodle around with the features of the game.

Im talking pcchips motherboard m871g...oldschool...slapped a video card in there from newegg and installed simcity 4, probably my favorite game ever. so now that it runs pretty decent im lookin forward to getting some population growing. Hi all, I'm John, I've just joined the forum, I've been playing simcity since 2000, I'm more of a casual player that drops back to simcity when I spot it randomly and get the urge again, I'm currently following the progress (albeit slow) of simcity 2013 and from what I've seen I'm looking forward to it, I've recently bought an ipad and I've been playing simcity on here a bit (not doing very well) and I'm hoping to dig out my copy of simcity 4 and give that a go to until either they let me in the beta for 2013 or it gets released. I'm Kjarbarey. I've been a member of Simtropolis since January 2009 but I hadn't thought of posting here until about 10 minutes ago. I'm a seventeen-year-old (for today anyway) New Zealander who's in between college (secondary school) and university where I'm enrolling to do a commerce course in IS and biotech. I first came across SC4 at a friend's house in 2008 but I didn't get it till a sale on Origin about a year ago and I've been fiddling ever since.

Hi all, my name is Alex and i am a "longtime simler" and i think the tens ani is a good time to say hello in here.

Mainly i am using SC for relaxing.

First i started with sc using the sc2000 OS/2 version. SC/2 and Links/2 have been my favorite games a long time.

That has changed after NOLF 1 came out.

SC4 i was buing first 3years ago, but i wasn't impressed cose most of the bat and mods have been incomp with SC4.

Therefore i decided to buy a completely new disc-set the deluxe edition.

After installing the game and after adding the plugins it was a new game i thought, a real eyeopener.

After that i was understanding what they mean if they are talking about "computer-addiction".

Today my favorite games are NOLF (1+2), SC4, Jade Empire and WorldRacing 2.

Now? I am very curios about the new SimCity...
