There aren't many ploppable residential buildings in general. So finding mid century ones is a tough task. Ploppable residentials used to be abandoned very quickly until the Growify mods arrived.
You could use the BuildingPlop Cheat from the SimCity 4 Extra Cheats Plugin and plop the growables you found. But to avoid abandonment, you must also use the Growify plugin.

Another thing that helps is plopping it on top of another residential, and making sure beforehand you have commercials that would satisfy the demand.

Yes inasmuch as you could often greatly extend the time before it would abandon, but that method isn't bullet proof like the aforementioned Growify Mod.

I know there's a mod that adds like 50 pieces of useless information when you start loading a city tile. Like a tooltip or something.

The image looks photoshopped to me, so I cannot be sure. It might be Gobias' Chicago River (part of Gobias HD Water Pack 03). Have a look at Cori's Water Shoppe. You might find a better match there.

What you're looking for is the “RRP Draggable Paths” mod by ChrisAdamas3997. As far as I know, it used to be on LEX, but it's no longer available. I have it in my plugins, if @CorinaMarie lets me, can I put a link to download it from my plugins folder?

I didn't know that, thanks, I was also looking for some mmp paths from MGB but I don't remember where's the attachment anymore or if he released it anywhere. But since I don't remember how it looks or a picture from him, I didn't ask about it.
