I was curious to see if there was anything new on Nob's site -- so I went to the link.  But NONE of the download buttons work. 

It appears to be just a list with no download links ???

First off; NOB has not been active in the SimCity community for many years.. so don't expect anything new there

Second off; The link I gave in that post is just (an english translation of) a section of Hide&Seek that hass collected his work so that people can still enjoy it after his site went down.

There should be a green download button and an orange info button next to the file name - if they don't work in the translation window, simply go to the original version of the site; http://hide-inoki.com/~nob/index.html

Yep - you're right in some way. - left mouse button didn't work for me. Try right mouse button and 'save as ...' instead.

Hi there, Im looking for missing dependencies for the Imori Lavender Farm., however I checked and installed everything I could find, but Stages 2 and 3 are *still* coming out as brown boxes. Stage one of Imori Lavender farm is fine however, with no brown box. I'm using CAM and NAM 34

Check that when the site is back up

Kind of. I went through the readmes provided in the BMD Mediterranean Style Farms, and in the list of dependencies, there were a few that were either locked by the Admin at the LEX, or had a slightly different filename, which therefore confused me a little.

 

While rereading the readme to double check, I realized I had downloaded one of them yesterday during that search for dependacies for Imori that I forgot to install, BSC Mega Prop Pack MBEAR Vol01. I installed that and the problem is fixed, I believe. :)

I looked at the lot file in Reader:

My search for Plugin_RCI_Buildings_Prop_Modd.dat led me to a post indicating it pre-dates Bldgprop_vol1.dat and that should be used instead. I added it into my plugins folder and the props still do not show. I then renamed it to Plugin_RCI_Buildings_Prop_Modd.dat and that didn't help either.

So, does anyone know where to find the missing dependency?

Hmm...

I wonder, if the files Raphael Ninja had were replaced by the Buildings as Props files, it doesn't necessary follow that the IDs used would have been the same. So far as I can tell, you need to do some re-lotting to replace the affected props with those from the official Building as props pack. This is a rare issue, that came about because there was a gap before these files were made available.

Ah. Well, phooey. That's beyond my current abilities.

 

I did go grab:

As the original source of Plugin_Props_Euro_Contemporary.dat and did a File Compare between it and the one included in the HTD file and they are identical. The park lots of European Props pack seem ok:

Maybe I'm not comparing apples to apples tho. I guess the only thing I can tell Ed is that it's too complicated for me.

Well the props in question are the industrial ones. In fact, it only seems to be two props. I know the big one, that's Max's Microchips. But the small ones, sadly the images are a little too small to really be sure. Although I found one building that would fit.

My main worry with this kind of lot, due to it's age, it's probably not well modded. Because so much less was known back then.

Lastly, I would not use the European props pack either, I would only use either the official buildings as props or TWrecks improved version of them.

Because it was quick to do, I've quickly swapped the props over, but note I've not looked at the modding side. See attached.

Update:

As if to prove my point, upon subsequent testing, something has happened to mess with these lots when I saved them in PIM-X. I'll try again, but don't use the files I uploaded previously!!!

OK let's try that again. I have no idea what could have happened there. But for some reason all the buildings as props were suddenly missing from the lots, including in the LE, never seen that one before.

This time I've tested them in game first. So the lots have everything you need on them, but as I said, I've not touched the modding side. Ideally, they would require completely new lots really and that's more work than I fancy getting into for this.

Thank you so much for looking into this. I hope someday to understand that part too. I just got your zip file a few minutes ago, so I'm sure it's the updated one. I'm not sure what I did wrong cause all I see are your new additions. The original two buildings now go missing.

I believe I should tell @Ed the Dragon the lot itself is wonky and advise him not to use it. (I personally don't want it cause 9k & 25k high tech jobs seems like way over kill for any of my rural towns. *;) )

Yup, that's the same problem I keep having, it's like the props go missing from the lot. Before I uploaded them the second time, I double checked and triple checked they were still there in both PIM-X and also in-game.

There are two reason why I don't simple re-make the lot. First, as you say, the job count is too high. If you plop these items with abandon, without the demand to cover the new jobs, you are in essence breaking the game. You'll end up with phantom jobs and this can be catastrophic to further growth. Since the max demand for un-modded SC is 6,000, even the small one is out of whack.

The lot though is reasonably pretty, I don't think I've ever seen that tower grow in my cities either :( - so I may have to re-lot that. Perhaps when I've more time I'll consider making a properly modded replacement as an I-HT Landmark with Jobs.

@rathefalcon and @nos.17, thanks for the help, but it's not those I was meaning, but I like them anyway so I'll download them :P The one I'm talking about has urban stuff you know? Telephone booths, mailboxes, these kind of things. And the two-way road by  NAM I was meaning was actually this one:

Can anyone tell me if Paeng ever released the colin & bilyk towers lot on the right with the 2 towers and the paths and plants ect between?.

I think that "lot" might actually be the 4x2 CO$$$ lots plopped with tiles from Paeng's modular parks in between. In case you don't have them yet, they're here:

Sort of... The base texture used is not one of the default options for the Parks 205 set. I'm pretty sure the pathways in between were custom lots, perhaps you'll find them in Paeng's Scrabble Box, but I couldn't say for sure these saw release. That said, using the Parks 205 lots, you'd probably get pretty close.
