I know that the whole site has moved towards C:S or whatever the acronym is for it, but please, why would you have removed ALL of the categories for the sc4 Trixies?? There are like only 3 left!!

 

First the Trixie Noms are late, than all the categories are missing ... what's next? Come on SImtropolis, I love you and all, but please some more support for the old gal we all love - SC4 and its supporters.

I think the idea, like last year, is to create your own nomination categories.

 

And none of the Cities Skylines stuff is eligible since the 12th trixies cover 2014.

Considering that SC4 has been around for 13 years and C:S hasn't even had an anniversary, I don't think the current flush of activity on C:S is more than a flash in the pan.  It is typical of today's short attention span people that they rush off in a new direction.  Reminds me of the young man who was so in love that he leaped on his horse and rode off in all directions.

We can't give much details on that, but I can ensure you ALL nominations are hand-counted and checked several times. If you nominate somebody by creating a category (which is normal that most of you nominations will go this way), it will be counted as any other nomination.

 

The number of fixed categories was drastically decreased in 2013 to avoid having a very long list of awards at the nomination site and to make the guys think and create some category that the staff would have never thought of. Trixies 2013 already offer some brand new category that came from the users' custom nominations.

It has nothing to do with the time C:S has been among us nor the players' attention span. C:S content cannot be nominated/awarded because the game was released in 2015 and thus, all the content created around it was created in 2015. BATs/Assets, CJs or any other content has to be created in 2014 to be eligible for these Trixies. These facts are also internally checked by the site staff.

I guess the problem many people had with creating their own categories was that they can hardly imagine that every single category will be counted for itself. I don't know how you guys handle stuff like that, but just imagine there to be 100 users creating their own category because all of them are having a slightly different idea of how the category should be called and what someone did. I can hardly think of Simtropolis giving away 100 awards because each winner was nominated in a seperate category (assuming that for each category there was only one member to be nominated for)

Well, my friend, you have to trust the Trixie jury.  Similar categories nominated can surely be consolidated.  Exact wording need not be used just because it appears in a nomination.  :kitty: Especially considering that many members do not have English as a first language and that the rest of us are rather poor grammarians at best. :kitty:

Nonny has hit it right on the money. Trust us that each and every nomination is counted and individually reviewed. Maybe some get consolidated, maybe some get their own award, maybe some get recognised some other way. Its a secretive process which we will deliberate over for the next few days until we reach a consensus. Then stocks are traded. IPs are exchanged. Independent reviewers come in. Insurances obtained. Medical and Dental policies put in place. Llamas are valuated etc etc.
