Now that the site upgrading seems to be done maybe the Trixies will be coming soon. I'm guessing the new medals will be added in when the old ones are, when a medal system is implemented. (In other words I think they didn't do them earlier because they'd just have to redo them in a few months after the upgrade anyway)

Just remember that leather medals like this are only good until December 31st of the year awarded.  Then they dissolve like the snows of yesteryear.  The watch word becomes "What have you done for me lately?"

Whatever happened to the 2014 Trixies? At this rate they are going to be added in for next year.

Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

Poor Trixie.  The darling seems to have been lost in the shuffle.

So is the Trixie officially dead?

Did the people I voted for win??

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

Oh please guys, let's not be impatient like that. The Trixies are coming... Reminder that for the moment we don't have awards under our names yet. We have to wait until the admins figure out how to do that. It might take long just like it might come sooner than expected, just be patient.

I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

Listen, the awards under users names can come later. I don't really care how long that takes, but you can still publish a Trixie 2014 page and admins/moderators can message all those users who won trixies, right? So that's enough to celebrate the 2014 trixies right? The point is publish the Trixie 2014 winners; worry about the flair (awards under user names) later.

As far as I know, the results aren't too far away from being published.

All the votes have been collected, filtered, and most validation tasks completed. The final part is often the most tedious, as there are lots of little things to check for. Each award is often decided by a very close margin, so it's a very meticulous process. As to why it's taking longer than previous years, this can be mainly due to the new site, and there's been lots of background work going on. Rest assured, the llamas didn't run off with them during the site upgrade! :P

The medals will be restored in the future, it's just the old awards system isn't compatible with the new forum software. Unless this can be upgraded, we need to find a suitable alternative with the same level of customisation.

Thanks everyone for your patience, it'll hopefully be worth the wait.

I'm new to trixies, and not entirely sure what it is yet, but I like poetry

so, I hope you don't mind if I join you in this lighthearted exchange

Trixie, Trixie, wherefore art thou Trixie?
Dissipate my annoyance and bemuse me with thy poetry =)

Trixie is the name of the Simtropolis mascot.  She is a Golden Llama.  This bit of humour goes back to the Developers.

If you type in CTRL+xdollyllamaCTRL+m then open the advisors panel you'll see they've all been converted into llamas.  This is a toggle.

Annual awards for members are Golden Llama Awards and may be awarded on nomination or discretion by senior staff.  Naturally they are called Trixies just as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards are called Oscars.

This is completely out of context, but I finally realised what "A Nonny Moose" actually means. Either I'm a fool or you're very cryptic.

I hate to be out of context too, but I only found this out a couple of months ago too. Don't worry, you're not alone :P

If you fellows are referring to the dollyllama cheat code, you are not alone at all.  Newer players would not be aware of the history of all this since it is something of an in-joke between the Developers and early players.  However, I think this little bit of humour should be passed along to the current generation because, if you are not aware of it, the 'advisors' are an obstacle most of the time, and have private agendas.

As for the mashed up Shakespeare, not everyone gets exposed to Romeo and Juliet.  Some of us were forced to endure some of that stuff in high school, and some of us learned to like it.  My Shakespeare in high school was all tragedy {Macbeth (twice), Julius Caesar, Hamlet} and one piece of Shaw (Pygmalion) which I enjoyed much more as 'My Fair Lady'.  I graduated from high school in 1955, so it was a different era.

And yes, I did have a pet stegosaurus.

Well, if you look at my username history, you will find that I was originally N_O_BODY, but Meg changed it for me a few years ago when I thought of it.  Nothing like a really good pun.  This gave rise to the Moose Factory, which you can visit by clicking the link in my sig.  Think of Callahan's Crosstime Saloon.  We even have a dragon.

If you are not a native English speaker, there is no reason for you to see something as subtle as a pun.

Freshman year - Julius Caesar.
Sophomore year - A Midsummer Night's Dream, Merchant of Venice, Romeo and Juliet.
Junior year was American Lit - so we had Inherit the Wind, The Crucible, The Glass Menagerie, and suffering through the first two scenes of Beyond the Horizon with possibly the two worst "out-loud" readers in the class.
Senior year - Hamlet, Macbeth, Othello; a few of us convinced the teacher to have us read The Comedy of Errors for the last couple of days, since there were two sets of twins in the class.

I saw a llama upon the stair,
A golden llama that wasn't there.
She wasn't there again today.
Gee I wish she'd come and stay.
