Awesome industry I think that was the gas plant from SC3000unlimited.

I also see the coal power plant in there, though it has a different colour than it had in SC3000. Back then, it had (very dirty) white walls, but now it's brown.

The third SC3000 power plant is obviously the microwave plant.

Great city, by the way! Can't wait to see what you'll do next!

    Haljackey: Thanks a lot!

    Vitor13: Cool.

89James89: It is getting a bit more easier to create grungy industrial towns in CS. But more larger industrial buildings and larger zone sizes are really needed here.

    Mymyjp: Thanks.

Snugies: I bet most of the youtube let's play people have never played SC4 hardcore and gone for the realism route. Even New York doesn't have that kind of high density for miles on miles!

    47ply: Wow, that's dedication!

Cobraroll: What I'm going to do next is build a lot of farms and expand out the suburbs. This is going to be a low/medium density town devoid of skyscrapers. The next city tile will be different but then its terrain is designed for highrises.

    Entry 12: Coniferous Suburbia

I have been absent these past two days thanks to a stomach bug, a lot of throwing up and foody innards going out like a sieve on the first day, followed by a whole ton of aches and pains on the second day. The good news in that period is that I get a place on a teacher training course in Sunderland University, this September I will be training to be a secondary mathematics teacher.

Now, what is the plan for Charon Lake? A low and medium density town covering the lowlands along with lots of farmland. Because of the terrain I don't think skyscrapers will fit in, if you do want skyscrapers then a wait a week or two when I start on the next city tile which is just perfect for a metropolis.

Oh yes I finally managed to break the game with one of the mods. Fortunately I tracked down this troublemaker down and the games back to normal now, or as normal as can be when the graphics card is straining away due to the insane anti-aliasing I use when taking pictures.

    Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

    This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

Love that train halt there very nice and suburban. Not sure I'm the biggest fan of the housing estate but then again I don't suppose anyone is lol.

Love the views of the lake though, looks very idyllic.

    Cheers

Now that's one cozy little town! :)

Did Traffic++ crash your game? I had lots of troubles with it last night, but it's playable again. Although I still don't have the arrows on my roads back...

This is definitely something different from your last city :) Some lovely sprawl meandering through the hills, with a great backdrop at that.

Which mod was it that was causing you problems? I'd like to steer away from that one then.

Good as always but the textures of those small houses don't really fit the game well

max_13: Turns out it was traffic++!

Vitor13: Thanks, mind you with Cities Skylines it's not hard to get some beautiful pictures.

iviaarten: I want to expand this rolling suburban/agricultural sprawl over the next two weeks. Also it was the traffic++ mod which was given me bother.

coolwiththecool2: Aye, the textures are a bit offski.

Mymyjp: Yes that is a toll booth, a police one!

Snugies: In this game it's not Swedish twins, it's Swedish clones!

Toothless Stitch: At least the site is well sponsored.

Entry 13: My Way or the Highway

So with the brief shenanigans of the recent patch for a moment there the town of Charon Lake was pretty messed up, it's all right now. Thus starting fresh I moved straight ahead to the next map I wanted to develop so as to explore a heavily urban theme along with getting my hands dirty with the highways. Now all cities start small...

    3u4yxg.jpg

So let's welcome the town of Brendon.

    g54RDp.jpg

What I have so far. This weekend I intend to expand this at least twenty times.

    81fK0d.jpg

Bowlton Avenue is going to be one of the CBD/downtown areas. I laid down a six-lane avenue because this mayor likes to plan ahead.

    BBSLzM.jpg

My first serious attempt at a major interchange.

    QMVKuq.jpg

    IYxuax.jpg

By laying down the elevated highway sections in the same direction I could get them perfectly parallel to each other. The one way road direction flipper tool comes in very handy for getting the directions right.

    OSu391.jpg

The hotdog van is taking that corner like a mofo.

    ULYTPl.jpg

I also tried my hands at an expressway. Please Colossal Order! Build us some two lane highways so I can lay down some proper dual carriageways.

    WSa5yn.jpg

    QuryzL.jpg

    XtyY6A.jpg

    VX47aF.jpg

The expressway expands into two lane one-way roads, again two lane highways please!

    ZiAalM.jpg

    SQjCZ9.jpg

    43XKEr.jpg

One day someone is going to build elevated highway fillers.

That last picture is everything! So much life for such a small city.

And I read the last update too, and you could just use two lane one-way roads like I do, since highway ramps don't make intersections with roads. And when the expressway intersects with a road just convert it into a highway...

    Entry 15: A Mini Update

So I was taking various pictures of Downtown and the minutes were slipping away towards midnight when I noticed the f-lock light on my keyboard was turned off. With a sense of paranoia creeping in, and resolving to take the remainder of the pictures for Brendon's downtown tomorrow, I left the game to see just how many pictures I actually took. Luckily I only missed one picture, now I was going to post a fully entry tonight late in the evening, but I kind of ran out of time.

Instead here are seven preview pictures from the 30+ collection I took tonight, two of which aren't even in downtown. Enjoy!
