Just a little "farm meets city"-

You know, guy -- now that you're doing some closer detail shots -- you're doing some really good stuff! *:thumb:

I really like the way you blended the fields into the tree line along the road.  And that's a very nice grid-busting industrial arrangement across the highway.

Keep up the good work, you "High Plains Drifter" !! *

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

(Harry Lime to Holly Martins...Graham Greene's THE THIRD MAN...1949)

Yo, guys --

Is there a "game system Genius" out there that can tell me how to get a tighter zoom level than the standard game system allows??? *:???:

I've got some fabulous models to put in the CJ -- but the level of zoom just won't do them justice.  I thought there might be a "cheat code" or some keyboard trick.

Any ideas most welcome -- *:D

The standard cheat (CTRL X) sizeof n where n>2 is what you're looking for. n=2 is the same as the standard max zoom or 2x the zoom 4.  sizeof 3, and sizeof 4 are still pretty good for most content. looking at automata up close sizeof 7 will be good. You can rotate the display but watch out when scrolling in these modes as the page will disappear very quickly. Also any mousewheel work will undo the zoom.

Also remember, the game saves in .png format, so you can do a considerable bit of enlarging right in photoshop, without it getting too lossy. Convert the image to .jpeg when your done.

Frighteningly, while doing a map of Paris that included Château Thierry, where an embankment site for a Paris Gun was found, I could see that even from this nearest site the monster cannon would have been firing across over 17 large SimCity 4 city tiles to reach Paris.

Meanwhile, another mountain...

uy4nsYf.jpg

Mt. Rainier here uses a tweaked VIP Terrain Mod from @BadSim along with @blunder's Cascadia Tree Controller.  I admit the tweaks probably show more rock face on the mountain foothills than would be there in reality, but I really wanted more rock face to show on the snowy upper mountain to be more resembling of Mt. Rainier.

Ten years ago Blunder showed off a beautiful 16-bit version of Mt. Rainier from the same angle in the Ring of Fire city journal entry "Lowkee's Terrain Mod of Ridiculous Awesomeness."  What is especially interesting is that Blunder first showed it using c.p.'s Meadowshire Terrain Mod, and then afterwards with @Lowkee33's then new LK Appalacian Terrain Mod.  It's virtually identical terrain, but in three different terrain mods.

This is amazing, I'm a huge history buff so any WIP historical SimCity is up my alley. That mountain feels as if it could pass a genuine picture, amazing stuff!
