@ohdude That "whole city" could very well be very very tiny building to give the impression of a very large shot... *;)

Wow Korver!!!

Thank you for showing us this insight into how you create True Earth. Your series always inspired the community to rethink the limits of SC4, and hopefully seeing your creation process will allow others to break their personal limits.

For the 50 or so people that downloaded Kloud Auto Auction...

In a haste to get my Kloud Auto Auction out, I didn't override a old file I intended to and extra files were included in the DL. So there are two copies of the same lot with different ID's They can be deleted if the were not grown yet. If they did grow, please remove any instances of the lot in your cities before remove files. (Not exactly sure the difference in the files, might just be the stats.)

Please remove the files below. Found in Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins\Kloudkicker\Commercial\Kloud Auto Auction-xxxxxxxx\Grow-Kloud Auto Auction.
(xxxxxxxx is either Seasonal or Evergreen).

Files removed from Evergreen version; KloudAutoAuction_GROW_Evergreen_8x8_1e692f18.SC4Lot, KloudAutoAuction_GROW_Evergreen_8x8-0x1e692f18.SC4Desc

Files removed from Seasonal version; KloudAutoAuction_GROW_Seasonal_8x8_3e692f7d.SC4Lot, KloudAutoAuction_GROW_Seasonal_8x8-0x3e692f7d.SC4Desc

Very sorry for not making sure it was correct the first time and any inconvenience.

Yo, People --

I need some input......

I've got some hills / mountains in back of my new harbor, and I need some info where to put the trees.  I know altitude usually determines which trees grow how high up the slope -- but some visual inspiration would be appreciated.  If you've got some forested areas with mountains -- could you post a few pictures to give me some ideas about the sort of landscape that might be appropriate.

THANX, guys --

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

(Harry Lime to Holly Martins...Graham Greene's THE THIRD MAN...1949)

Yes, they are fine. One of the grow version is also, the one with the newest time stamp. One extra grow version and description file was in there that should not of been.

...will be available soonish (for the plop version I'm thinking of doing a custom retaining wall to replicate the river placement, just like in real life)

Beautiful work.

@The British Sausage

I was hoping you would answer my query!! *:D

Your style is very much what I had in mind -- but with a bit less MMP work, more strategically placed on the map.  The focus is, after all, the naval base -- but I would like to make my mountain scenery reasonably authentic.

The snaps you posted will go a long way to making that possible.

THANK YOU very much for coming to my rescue, old son!

I hear ya Dreadnought, here are a few mosaics showing forest transitions from high elevations to low elevations. Yeah there's a whole bunch of MMP stuff but what matters is the layout of the coniferous trees and the deciduous trees.

The beauty of the ARDEN tree controller is the grassland which automatically spawns.

I hope that inspires you!

how? how? how in the hell does one create such a masterpiece using ploppables in sc4? is there some secret controller or something that will generate such beauty?
