@Barroco Hispano no photoshopping, everything in the picture is in SC4, i used print screen and saved the JPG.

The beach texture is only the terrain texture at the very shoreline. Most of the beach is a lot which paints the terrain in a small area around the plop, i just plopped them along the shoreline and used MMPs to cover the obvious edges.

Your windmill is excellent. Personally i think I prefer it as an MMP so it can be plopped in more situations. Can you put it in the power menu if you make it a lot? Less scrolling to find it that way, and it does make power in a way... *:)

As announced, I created more content for the wind industry in sc4. This is a blade reck as mounted on construction vessels for offshore farms. The tip of the blades are usually hung in slings:2020-12-31-18-23-55-Sim-City-4.png

Is there a way to export in a higher quality than the "High-Option given in GMAX- BAT?

Happy new year to everyone that celebrates it & take care of yourselves.

That is seriously one of the best shoreline I've ever seen done in the game.

Shores are an area where I struggle to make it look good. You've pulled it off brilliantly. *:thumb:

40 million people, NAM simulator on low, eternal commuter bug (which I like as a challenge) and a massive inter-connected region does all this.

Always gotta stay on top of it.

I don't understand how some of you are doing what you are doing, but truly excellent work in so many different areas of SC4.

My update after an early finish to work on new years eve; MMPing an entire shoreline was quite a lot of work, but I think its actually looking reasonably realistic. I think improvement will just take practice on my part but again, if anyone has any thoughts, I'm all ears.

I figured that I'd try to grow some Dutch houses here, as they should get on just fine with these sand dunes. Unless familiarity breeds contempt of course, but it's a chance I'm willing to take.

I will try to get a city journal up soon but I've had a bit of a plugins meltdown whilst trying to sort my residentials into tilesets that let me grow pretty much what I want where I want and I've had enough of PIM-X for this year. Luckily I only have to wait a few more hours until next year... *:thumb:

    THIS is absolutely GORGEOUS !!

The terrain configurations, color blending, and highlighting on the crests is a positive work of art!

I've been trying to make dunes like that for years -- without success.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

    The cuckoo clock !

Very nice! I like this minimalist style with MMPs and wide spaces contrasted with lotted buildings- NOICE!

I don't know whether to place it in the landmarks menu or in the parks menu or just make an mmp.

The normal option would to be to place this in the landmarks menu, the technical option would be to place it in the power menu because technically windmills are a form of power, while the gutsy option would to make it an MMP!

There is another way which is to set the automata generator, in the NAM installer, to 24 hours constant which guarantees busy automata (traffic) on ALL streets, roads and highways which are being used by Sims. The downside of this is that suburbs appear to be busy streets and another downside is that in can have an adverse effect on game performance and can cause more crashes. I opt for the periodic 24 hour automata where there's a lot of visual traffic which coincides with rush hour times: 0500 to 0900 to 1600 to 2000.

The transition from grass to dunes looks absolutely flawless! Any chance you could create a quick tutorial on how you achieved this effect?

    Yo, guys --

At the dawn of this new year, I wish for all of you -- HEALTH -- Prosperity -- and especially, Happiness

    *:P  *  *:P  HAPPY  NEW  YEAR !!  *:P * *:P

I just got home from last night's "ritual celebratory madness" and today, I prepare to set off in celebration of My Birthday !! (As the aging, but brilliant, police Chief Inspector always says..."I'm getting too old for this crud!"  *)

But before I go -- I offer a few more shots from Wilhelmshaven South......

On the west side of the "Eglise de La Madeleine" market / plaza, we have a hodge-podge cultural center that started out many years ago as a church and a park.  As time went on, successive cultural sites were crowded into the area even as it was ringed by business and financial districts.  On the left is the Guggenheim Museum, the Sorbonne, the Old National Gallery, the Tarrazzo (SP?) bell tower (with sidewalk cafe), and in the right, bottom corner -- the Old Stock Exchange building.

    bVxMDBn.jpg

    9rfi3HI.jpg

North of the Madeleine Plaza we see the beginning of the New Financial District stretching along the upper level of the seawall embankment.  These tower buildings have fine, scenic, views of the inlet with a cozy promenade and fountains to sooth the weary tycoons or cheer the strolling tourists.  (The AIG building can be seen many miles out at sea.)  On the lower level, the old fishing port has been renovated into a modern tourist attraction complete with a boardwalk, riverboat dining, shops, public fishing piers, Capt. Jack's prestigious seafood restaurant, mooring space for tourist boats, and even an old lighthouse converted into a maritime museum.  Altogether -- a delightful place to enjoy the bracing sea breezes, dine, or just spend an afternoon puttering about on the boardwalk.

    f71sbec.jpg

    7yVh9AG.jpg

And behind the AIG Building, you see "The Shard" tower, the BanMedica Insurance building by @mattb325, and the beginnings of a cluster of new financial giants that are occupying the prime real estate on this small headland.  (More work to do, here.)

    I don't understand :(

    Immagine.jpg

    imperial tower.zip

Try rendering it in parts... e.g. render one set of LODs for the bottom half of the tower.  Then Render the second set of LODs for the top half of the tower.  That will get you two sets of SC4MODEL files.  Make both of these props.  Then make a "blank building".  Then put both props on top of each other in LE (this will be your actual building).  Finally replace the Building with your "blank building" SC4MODEL file.  Feel free to PM me if you need further instructions.  Good luck *:thumb:
