Dear all, I'm sorry it took me so long. I have finished the final modeling of this Louvre Statues and will publish the first version soon. I want to make them as one icon with random plopped in the park menu, but it will extend the progress, So I want to publish first to gain some advices.

When I did this job, There were so many people helped a pretty newbie BATter, Your encouragement and heart (like,thanks)was a real tonic for me. I have to say that without you I couldn't accomplish it. Thank you very much!:}

Next step, I want to trying make them to props, Just in case anyone would prefer to use these with Loteditor, Furthermore, I plan to create the Kremlin walls @thecitiescenterand the Minas Tirith of the Lord of the rings. some basic polygon of them had modeled when I was learning and doing this job, I hope someone will like them too, *:D Thanks again!

Sincerely,

Yo, people --

After a computer crash & burn, a three year absence -- and housekeeping chores on 9 external drives -- I thought I'd get back into the game.

My first problem was realizing that I couldn't remember any of the hot key combinations or other tricks I had learned (indebted to Tariely for responding to my panic call).  I decided to pick up where I left off, in my city of Wilhelmshaven South.  As part of my "sea trials", I figured I'd post  some pics from the city tile that have never been posted before.

This is what passes for my version of a "Manhattan-like" business district (still a WORK IN PROGRESS).  I tried a wide variety of experiments, etc, etc, on this city -- which frankly -- was so long ago I can't remember what they were.

MUepuch.jpg

This is a shot of the shallow South Inlet that leads into the deeper bay on the west side of the island.  One of my experiments included perfecting a style for rocky coastlines and shorelines in general.

This is a detail shot of the South End Light.

pe4t3sW.jpg

This is kind of a landscape shot showing the rugged features of the point, with two sail boats racing toward the buoy in the shallows, while a yacht too large to pass under the railroad bridge has anchored inshore for the night.

EvfnL7P.jpg

This shows the lower harbor basin where commercial services are handled -- Guest Services and professional sport fishing.  The marina pieces are from the old PEG marina sets.  I made a creative use of the NBVC marina pieces to create a causeway for the harbor entrance light and the tourist stop at the base is made with Paeng's Pocket Plaza and two 1x1 pieces from one of his park path packs.  Note the park path and scenic overlooks along the ridge behind the harbor.  I modified the paths to allow for closer MMP work.

Hope everyone enjoys --

Hapy to see you back ! WolfZe got a lot of usefull stuff for your project among the Hamburg Havewachte and some late 19th century stuf !

You could certainly make these statues into a prop family. But that generally works better with props that are similar in size. It seems like you have 14 statues that will fit on 1x1 parks, and two that will need a 4x4. I don't know if the dimensions are appropriate, but the round fountain statue would be amazing as a roundabout.

Thank you very much Nate, You are absolutely right, Matt had given me the same advices, I will try to make one as Andisart's roundabout in the next version, I just publish the first version of it, Just in case anyone could give me tips to make that more perfect. Thank you. I appreciate it.

Yours Sincerely,

Hi Terring, I remembered that your CJ's style is  quite futurist, whereas Minas Tirith is kind of classical, so Are we talking about the same one?*:D Anyway, I thought you may like it as well, I will certainly show you more details about that couple days later. Thank you!

Based on the pictures I've seen on the Internet, it seems that Minas Tirith is a city-on-city tower, which mixes the concepts of vertical cities (a city inside of a tall building) and what I call 3D cities (more information here). So in other words, this...

minas01.jpg

...actually reminds me this...

h_i_v_es_by_julian_faylona_d84gszl-fullv

But I really wonder if you're going to make Minas Tirith at its original size, because that looks gigantic. It would be a seriously huge building for both BATing it and for the game itself. Good luck with this. Judging by your statues, I'm pretty sure you're going to rock the game and the community *:thumb:

Question on the scale of Minas Tirith, how big are you making the pieces? If it's very large in order to get the details to render you might need to set it up as multiple bats and lots that can be plopped in a specific order which will display the whole thing once plopped in that order. The pieces of course would need to overhang and would be nice to place at the base of a mountain after terraforming. I should just find your bat thread instead of asking all this here ..

  • Thanks 1

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

Dear philforhockey51, Thank you for your thoughtful tips, I planed to consider those after the main work has be done. Yes it's a very big model, Now, It's 300 meters in height and also a diameter of 300 meters, so In game it will be 300/1.33=225 meters in height. I have no idea of the effect in game due to inexperience.

Well, you know, I'm still quite a newbie of modeling, so I haven't had a bat thread of myself,*:D Thank you for your kind reminder, I thought I should do that instead of messing up this thread, I will tell you there when that's ready. Thank you very much.
