Yo guys --

My apologies -- I'm going off-topic, again -- but just for a moment.  I have a bunch of building downloads (really good looking) -- but they are "Camelot" releases, and I don't use the Mod.  If someone would kindly refresh my memory, it would be much appreciated.

All I have to do to make them compatible with the non-Camelot stuff is to --

(1) Open in Reader

(2) Open LD File

(3) Change the "Stage Lot" number, then "apply" -- hit "save" -- and "rock on" !  RIGHT -- ??  Nothing else -- RIGHT ??

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

(Harry Lime to Holly Martins...Graham Greene's THE THIRD MAN...1949)

@Dreadnoughtyou open the Lot in the reader and in the lot examplar file yes, change the growing stage up to 8 (I mean 8 or below).

I would do the right click reindex lotconfig move at the right panel and then reindex-rebuild directory at the middle panel.

After this you can hit the save...

now done phase 3 & 4... and only three phases of low density left... (the 19th and early 20th century stuff, and r-$$$.)

laurentia1-4.jpg

4.8 million sims crammed into 1x1 lots... and only 10,000 commercial jobs. I use custom parks with 2.5K civic jobs and 5K cap relief, with max landmark and park effect. I also manual edit demand (ie r-$ and r-$$$ are at negative -500,000 and r-$$ 10,000,000 (and things sometimes still wont grow )) and use a host of really old mods.

Heres a waterfront hotel/ music hall complex with a highway through it and some piers around it. I wanted this to be like a waterfront version of Lincoln center in NYC

Fine looking selection of mods there.  Those JS seawalls were the first I downloaded, and still a favourite, despite their disappearing act when you zoom out.

Thanks! Those were my first walls too I think (all those years ago). This is the only spot in my city that I've been able to use them though. I've been favoring the JENXParis walls recently

Thank you for sharing... our building styles look rather similar.  *:)

My alternate favourite are the Marrast seawalls, and the JRJ ones are still the go-to for industrial areas.

I started my little version of Vancouver, British Columbia about 7 years ago after the 2010 Winter Olympics.  Not meant to be a recreation, just a similar layout.  Still a long way to go, but here are a few pictures (photos are clearer if you click on them).

We'll start with some close ups of the Waterfront Greenway and Waterfront Station.

Waterfront Station is the main transportation hub for the City of Vancouver.  It serves commuter rail lines to Port Moody (via the West Coast Express), Burnaby, New Westminster, Surrey, Langley, Delta, and Richmond.  Waterfront Station also serves as the terminal for the Main Street subway, more then a half a dozen streetcar lines and VIA Rail service to other Canadian cities.  Two blocks south (via the Main Street Greenway) is the Dunsmuir Bus Transfer Center, serving both TransLink and Greyhound buses.

A wider shot of Waterfront Station along the Waterfront Greenway.  Waterfront Park was built atop the switching yards leading into the station.  Part of the Main Street Greenway can be seen on the right.

Waterfront District.jpg

A closeup of the Waterfront Greenway in Downtown Vancouver.  I custom built the greenway with the Lot Editor so it's openings and features lined up with my street grid.  The strip closest to the boulevard is for pedestrians, the strip closest to the marina is for cycles.  The large transfer with the underpass intersection is a connection to the Georgia Street Greenway, which provides a direct connection from the Burrard Inlet waterfront in Vancouver Harbour to the False Creek waterfront near the stadiums.

This is Portobello Market in the Mount Pleasant area.

Vancouver General Hospital, the largest hospital in the city, is also located in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood.

Alice Townley Park in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood.  On the North Side of the park runs the 3rd Avenue Greenway (that, along with the 8th Avenue Greenway out west, runs the length of the city.  Along the greenway sits Vancouver General Hospital.  On the south side of Alice Townley Park is a small tech district that sprouted up to take advantage of both the downtown location of the University of British Columbia and Vancouver General's large research operation.

A wider shot of the Mount Pleasant neighborhood and it's booming business district.  The Main Street LRT runs at an angle along the top, Broadway runs at an angle to the left.  The area is the region's second main business district after Downtown Vancouver.

Let me know what you think.  7 years in the making!  I've got some wide angle shots of the skyline for the next post.

Thanks!

Great downtown ! Real large packed cities like this I haven´t ventured; probably grid and bat´s are at blocks of 4x4 .5x5 or 9x9 max for larger structurs as there a lot of thin mid and highrrise mostly ? Raised park beyond the Waterfront station is a nice feature Street FLUP under parks might be streched all the way, additonal FLUP park pieces ?

https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2126

Like these set !  City with so much variety, painstacking process; gowable there´s no real repetation to be seen, if ploped this must be a lenghty exercise  choosing mid rixe as standard at setting up avoid most of those low  business services wich cluter unnecesary space. Public transport indeed is the connecting factor as road traffic would swallow op all the streets, turning them in endless  traffic chaos. Parks are nice, sparsely footbal pit and sport facilites  not counting. Last business enterprises mid and highrise might be a drawback if there´s not any industrial  custom installed beside the default maxis industries, well done !

Thank-you.  I've lived in the Vancouver area most of my life, born at St. Paul, the 2nd major Hospital downtown.   You captured a lot of the feel of the city, especially the waterfront and train station, the Mt. Pleasant area and VG Hospital, --you got the science world dome in there too.  Interesting how accurate it looks, I can see the medical building that our family doctor was in since I was born.   This is got to be the most amazing SC4 experience for me of all the city building I've seen here.   I'm home.  *

Wow the stuff that I've seen here recently is mindblowing! Especially for a game from 2003.

Today I'm working on adding a couple ramps (half diamond interchange) to a highway corridor at the edge of a city tile
