@watercitymadero I remember using the first texture back in 2018 but I modified it so many times that I ended up messing it up *:D

I really like your water textures, you're doing a great job! :thumb:

"BAT waves" test *:D

This is one of the ways I can think of to replace maxi waves (Obviously I have to export several textures to be able to mix them, but it will be very complicated to adapt them to the shape of any beach)

image.png.d3a8e809dfc3c4be94b74a8f8009f6d3.png

Now I want to go to the beach. 😩

Your water colors looks photorealistic.

The sand looks soft on the feet; that wave foam looks fine to me. Looks like the Caribbean and South Asian island beaches.

I think the game automatically adapts the waves depending on the terrain elevation and shape, but I'm not sure. Some tests could confirm this.

In real life, they look similar to yours. Some places don't have waves, and some have big waves. However, I believe that creating something that balances both extremes is acceptable. I think you nailed it.

@watercitymadero - Thanks for showing us how you did it. There is really no substitute for nature for sources for textures in the game.

You've also very successfully taken account of the fact that, when making water-wave textures for SC4, the perspective is important. The textures must have dominant lines running close to the angles of the projection (16 and/or 60degrees from horizontal) for the swells/waves to look best in the game. The scale of the swells and waves must look reasonable with objects running over them - the speedboat is a good measuring item. The lighting must be from the left when shown in-game. And of course the holy grail is perfect tiling (no visible joins) and natural textures don't - they are continuous, so that usually turns out the hardest to do.

Your inspiration texture meets these criteria and your resultant textures look great.

@watercitymadero In the next few days, I'll try to make a new texture using a new program (Phoenix FD & Vray). My hopes for a good result are low, but I'll give it a try anyway. *:thumb:

Yo, guys -- *:D

I know this is a bit "OFF-TOPIC" -- but this thread usually gets a wide variety of answers pretty quickly.

CAN ANYONE SUGGEST A GOOD MP4 VIDEO PLAYER -- WITH A FREE DOWNLOAD --??

I already use WIN 10 player and occasionally VLC, but there's a lot of stuff out there that just won't play.

A download link would be REALLY nice......

MY APOLOGIES FOR THE "OFF-TOPIC" question -- *:kitty:

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

(Harry Lime to Holly Martins...Graham Greene's THE THIRD MAN...1949)

I use the K-Lite Codec pack.  You can get a small version or a mega version. Get the Standard, Full or Mega. Never had an issue playing anything ever.

More motorcycle dealers are coming up. This is one honoring the Marquez brothers in MotoGP, and Spanish-themed selling Spanish brands and Honda and Ducati (who they've driven for).

(I swear I won't be using the Honda dealer model for all of them, there will be other models as well)

EDIT: Mega Lo Mart, which I might add to the grocery store set. Includes the lowercase version on the Season 14 revival.

Hello I'm making other BAT now. (The previously made BAT has not been completed due to various problems.😭)

I'm trying to make sort of... Beaux-Arts style building for this time.

Yes please, make more in this style!

Meanwhile, the last model for the upcoming pack. It covers half a diagonal tile and is meant to be used as filler between short and long diagonals:

That looks like a small-scale Singer Building, which would be great for any city that wasn't New York-sized back when the Beaux-Arts were in vogue!

Thank you so much matias93! That building design is inspired from 'Singer Building' and 'The Dorilton' apartment in NY. hehe :)

Hello everybody!

After the busy summer with RL commitments, holidays and some background SC4 related developments as a preparation for future restoration releases, the BSC Common Dependencies pack got a new update so now it is running on Version 9d (delta). This was a smaller update, as part of the restoration some of Cerulean's older contents some UI related files needed to be stored in the BSC_Essentials. A few other adjustments were added too; you can read more about them in the ChangeLog on the description page.

On the wake of the DLL modding revolution the Allow More Building Styles - DLL Plugin were developed by Null45, and last December we tried to cover some of the functions in SC4PIM-X by adding the Building-Styles property as default with a dummy ID to freshly created or recalculated Building Exemplars. BUT it was not known at that time, that these dummy IDs or the additional buildings styles are not entirely compatible with the industrial growable lots and these IDs were potentially blocking the growth of industrial lots. Many of the updated and restored contents have received either or the other dummy ID, until the deceison was made, that this property should not be available as default, rather the user can manually add it in Reader or in PIM-X. As a result the official SC4PIM-X upload got a recent update with a new/updated new_properties.xml file. This very same file also have been upoaded separately and if some development will occur this separate version of the file will likely receive updates.
Since many of the recently restored contents (including many industrials) got these conflicting dummy IDs, they had to be updated. It is highly recommended that players should re-download and re-install these contents.
Please read the full article and see the related links here:
