"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. When somebody offers to do a favor for free, like making a mod for SimCity 4, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth." - Twilight Sparkle after playing SimCity

"Being a mayor or a content creator for SimCity 4 is a heavy responsibility, Patrick. Each city and each custom content is like a child, and must be treated as such." - SpongeBob Squarepants after playing SimCity

"Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible." - Frank Zappa

"The wisest men follow their own direction." - Euripides

You might like better how the Kingdom of Rota handles electricity generation, going 100% renewable with a diverse mix of sources.

But even then, I feel that fossil fuel generation does have its charm, even if we know the grim realities behind it.

Simmer2's long bridge will span a fairly large canal if you place them on opposing shores.

And what is that supposed to tell me? I don't want to span a channel here.

The oil should go from the ship to the tanks and vice versa. So the pipes go to the ship and I think they arrived safely.... ;-)

Sometimes you can use things differently than they are intended to get to your destination.

After all these years, I am still as passionate as ever and still at it! I like to make my cities as realistic as possible, meaning only using growables and the occasional landmark of course, creating commutes region-wide (although I have struggled with this since the game does not really accommodate this concept).

I use the PIM, Sc4Tool and LotEditor to change buildings to suit my city and I have even re-purposed some Maxis buildings that I think are gorgeous and made them high-wealth residences, for example. The style of architecture feature is also useful, making it so in my London-inspired city, I can edit specific terraces to grow only under a certain style and make them the same stage level so they don't replace each other.

A special thank you to all the incredible BATters and MODers that make gameplay exciting and possible.

Anyway - here are some pics! Try and guess which regions/shots are based off of which cities! The Mediterranean-looking city is a mish-mosh inspired by Nice, Lisbon, Barcelona and Monaco :)

More work continues on my rough part of town:  This former cottage and vacation home village has sat vacant since the 1970s.  Originally opened in 1946, the village had seen reasonable success in a booming post war economy.  However,  as decades moved forward, an influx in crime, and some dirtier industries taking their toll on the water quality upstream became the demise of this mini getaway spot.  What once housed families on summer weekends has since housed squatters and other hives of illicit activity as the city has grown around it.  This village is inspired by similar ones in and around  the eastern seaboard, specifically some of the ones that were on Jamaica Bay in Queens, NY.  What do you all think?5e9aa380d65a2_ScreenShot2020-04-17at1_09_07PM.png.67ad1d2883be6bcb323c6e574a881154.png

What you need is some of kind of fire animation. If the fire is simply a static image on the end then it would look weird.

Yes, I agree. But that's a number too high for me.
I'll probably leave the fire out entirely.

@WolfZe I'm almost sure that there are fire automatas that could suit this place with the lot editor ;)
