The wolf is at the door. The 3 biggest cities are all that's left to build- Madison, Green Bay and Milwaukee. Along with the current population, that should bring it up to roughly 2.8 million. That will leave about 3 million more to bring the state up to the actual population(2010 census count). Then I'll create hub cities and add in all the little towns that didn't get included on the region map. Pretty up the terrain a little, too. So I'm about half way there.

The fires are about 6 miles away from me and I can see them moving closer every day from my front windows. I have very expansive views and I have been watching it consume an area the size of France for about three weeks now: the fires are likely to impact the area I live in within a week (though not necessarily my house). I've made as many preparations as possible: fires aren't usually a feature of where I live as it is typically a wet, snowy climate, but the last few years around the world have shown that snowy places are no longer immune from massive conflagrations. 

So I'll be getting as much content as possible ready for upload between now and then....as I wait for this advancing monster to arrive on my doorstep.

In the mean time, I have started another building. This is one of the offices of CGTrader.com.

As you can see, a very quick start, more soon...

Nobody is telling you how to do your "silly" BATs. Of course I could make it more interesting but I like to stick with reality as much as possible.

The lighthouse tower is definitely fine, I can see someone like Korver use it. But the base is really tricky to interpret and only one of the walls is very thick. Google Earth is not reliable for textures because they're either too bright from the sun (satellite ain't gonna capture a cloudy day) or somewhat smushed and blurred. 

Getting rid of the walls opposite the sea would be more faithful to the Google image, dirtying the side buildings and wall textures would ensure it matches with the quality textures on the lighthouse.

Also Krio has done quality stuff and his diagonal buildings are invaluable.

I understand.

This was a request fulfilled for someone. It included the base as is. However if I should ever release it in to the wild, it will be the tower only.  The rest is irrelevant.

Case closed.

The total lot count for SM2 DIY Oil Storage now stands at 29. All lots have been finalized and tested in conjunction with SM2 Oil Pipelines Vol2 and it seems like all the combos are a match. I will now prepare the documentations and will start zipping away.

Sample of possible combinations. Bonus, the rail loading/unloading platform is also vanilla rail compatible.

Bazel Messe Turm ..!

Vienna as Dresden got a few new released Bat´s wich I released on my Anno Europe Vienna map and if upgrade will be released in the Dresden

map. Some weeks ago I stumbled on this excellent landmark situated in Bazel, Switserland wich I don´t want to withhold you; the Bazel Messe Turm by Matheman !

Bazel Messe is actualy sittuated in the Baden area of Bazel across the Rhine in a relative large urban area !

Fortunaly I had a townblock wich perfectly matched the space where to put the tower and congress center !

Thanks, the house is insured and as prepared as can be, plus I have an apartment in the city (which I've rented out at the moment) if the worst should happen. As part of packing the emergency bags of documents and clothes, I've got together quite a few garbage bags of old clothes which I'll take up to the evacuation centre and donate for those who have already lost everything. Most would have escaped with just what they were wearing, and since the day of the really bad firestorm the days have been quite cool (around 15C, even though its summer). So jumpers and coats are the order of the day. 

But, back to SimCity stuff...

I lived in Los Angeles (suburbs) for many years and know just how much worse the fire risks have become -- and I keep in touch with "schooldays chums" that are still threatened every year (Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Palos Verdes Peninsula).

Thanks @Dreadnought and @RRetail, we have had more humid, less windy conditions these last couple of days which have allowed firefighters to do a big containment line back burn which they think will protect the townships that will be under threat this weekend when the weather returns to hot and windy. 

The most amazing thing is that more than 2,000 volunteers will be working on Christmas day to do this. Truly wonderful stuff.

It's already Christmas morning here, but for those in the Americas and Europe/Africa where it is still yesterday, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas everyone

Working on my city. Up to 6.6 million, but still lots to fill in.

I'm working on the Northern Beaches and North Shore regions, located at the very north of the above screenshot.

The below is the suburb of Mascot. It has two train stations, Milson's Point and Mascot, and both have attracted transit-orientated developments of offices, shops and apartments. The plan is to have a lot of low-density sprawl away from public transit.

And then the almost-finished Northfields and surrounding suburbs. One thing that bugs me - the Japanese apartments which are a dependency for one of my train stations, seem to spam $$$ Residential and make my dense areas a little ugly. If anyone has any recommendations for similar lots which might break up the monotony, please let me know
