I'm trying to make some nice looking suburbs in my own way ;)

Holy...

I'm too used to my grid system, just keeping through traffic at bay gives me a headache.

I'm assuming it's permitted to post pictures of cities from other citybuilding games in these threads, correct? If not I apologize in advance.

Working on an Olympic Sculling Venue in Lot Editor. Still a work in progress. And there are buoys, they just don't show up at this zoom level. A follow up picture will be posted soon.

Edited: Added some closer up photos of the seating and track sections. (Also added a teaser of an equestrian venue I just started tonight :D

I'm currently in the early stages of creating a new City Journal. I've got the name (Vanaheim) and I know it's going to be Nordic orientated like my last CJ (Bergerland) but I'm putting a lot more effort into this one and I also want to incorporate a lot of Norse mythology into the CJ for those of you interested. These are just some images I'm gonna dump here of a town about 25km outside of the capital city. The main motorway into the city passes by and the country's largest airport is on the other side of the motorway. There's a lot of work to be done yet but I'm really impatient so I had to come here. Let me know what you guys think! thanks!

I've just been working on a new part of my town, a suburb, "Amstelveen" (as my city is New-Amsterdam I'm using names of real districts in Amsterdam). But it is very small and yet undeveloped as you may see. It just needs time I guess, as I have enough people and money.

Nice projects everybody!

I am currently working on a compact city by the ocean. Although it's not exactly mountainous, it is still somewhat hilly so the elevation is going to present an interesting challenge.

Here is a small design I had in my mind to make gridless downtowns

"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. When somebody offers to do a favor for free, like making a mod for SimCity 4, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth." - Twilight Sparkle after playing SimCity

"Being a mayor or a content creator for SimCity 4 is a heavy responsibility, Patrick. Each city and each custom content is like a child, and must be treated as such." - SpongeBob Squarepants after playing SimCity

Ok, i'm not on the same level of you guys, of your planning, hope someday i will reach that level, because this takes enormous time to make since i have little of it, i get very impatient on making great projects, so this is so far what i can do... hopefully u like it... its made because of the small amount of time, but still need to get lots of bats and props and whatever :P

sry bout the pause lines, next time ill remove them :)

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Right now I'm in the midst of completely rebuilding my downtown/inner city area. I got a waive of courage last night and completely dozed the entire tile. Here are a few pictures of the progress I have made so far.

This is what I've done with the default Berlin region in the game:

Berlin1.jpg

Berlin2.jpg

At first I was just building off of the pre-made cities in the region, but then I decided to build a second major city in the large city space on the east side of the region. So now it looks as though this will become a region with multiple business centers and Campbell as the biggest city. When I play now I mostly build stuff in the area between Campbell and the old cities; they are now connected by highway and intercity rail, so people can commute from one downtown to the other. I'm also planning to convert more of the El-train network in Campbell into a subway system, since subways seem to encourage more high density development in their vicinity.

I'm working on a set of R$ lots that should be released in the near future. I'm using these in New SorGun, but they should fit nicely in any rural areas. Here's a random grow session that turned out pretty nice.

They're excellent, just like your R$$ lots. Can't wait to use them. :)
