About This File

MHW Total Retexture Mod version 1.2 - US textures

This mod is now included in the Network Addon Mod (from version 31 onwards)

What is the MHW Total Retexture Mod?

This mod will totally retexture your Maxis Highways to match any US styled textures. This will retexture every single Maxis highway texture, including the NAM interchanges.

Are there any issues?

Unfortunately, due to the way Maxis Highways are UV-assigned, there are some texture issues, mainly with the NAM interchanges. This cannot really be easily avoided from a texturer's point of view, but the current texture issues aren't really that serious.

If you happen to spot any other issues, please let me know.

How do I install this mod?

To install this mod, unzip the downloaded file to Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins

IMPORTANT: Ensure the included .dat file is INSIDE a folder in your Plugins, for example the path might be Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins/zz_folder-name/retexture.dat

If you have the NETWORK ADDON MOD v31 or higher...

I'd recommend that you install this texture mod using the Network Addon Mod's installer. If you didn't select it during your install, you can run the installer again without removing your existing installation, and tick the box which can be found in the Textures section.

I have an issue/question/request!

Please post in the Development and Support thread.

Dependencies

None!

Recommended Mods:

Network Addon Mod, available here.

Incompatible Mods:

This mod is incompatible with any other mod which alters the textures/models of the Maxis Highways, for example Project Symphony included in the Network Addon Mod, or any other Maxis Highway retexture mod.

Looking for a Euro version?

There's one available here.

Also...

There's also a version of this mod available which alters the Ground Maxis Highway models. Find it here.

Thanks, Sam.

I'm a city painter and I'm trying to gain some control over my neighborhoods. I'm pretty sure that "Building Themes per District" by Boformer is the mod for this but I'm having trouble learning how to use it. Are there other mods that you guys use in conjunction with it? Do you city painters use the "Always Demand" mod? Cause I'm having demand issues and I'm not sure if I want to remove that aspect from the gameplay. Also, when you plop a building from a theme, do you have to lock it every time, or is there an easier way to get it to stick?

Even just some kind of quick introduction to how you use the Building Themes per District mod would be really helpful. I'm having trouble figuring out the GUI.

      thx in advance

I've been playing around with Blender and thought I would modelling some residential properties.  After finishing the model and working on a 1024x1024 texture map, it appears ok in Blender Render, but a corner of the house has a texture glitch in Cities.  Before I start playing around with it more, I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions on what the problem may be.
Edit: Should note that I loaded the model with Steam Workshop disabled, but saw the error both with and without mods/other assets loaded.

So a while ago while screwing around with modtools i stumbled upon something that seems to control how smoke effects (or spawners) behave. Editing these parameters made me discover these things:
M_maxlifetime: controls how long the trail of smoke will be.
M_maxspawnangle: controls the grouping of the individual smoke puffs
M_maxstartspeed: i believe this controls the amount of smoke puffs spawned.
there are min and max values allowing for variation in the effect. i used the factory smoke large effect to test this.
At this point im stuck, i can edit the smoke effects without problem, however they just wont save, everytime the game is restarted they reset back to their default settings.
I tried to look into making a mod that saves them, but i lack the knowledge on how to do so. so i hope someone can help me figure this out or wants to pick this up.
Attached screenshots is were the prop effect parameters are located (default settings), and how the effect can look when you edit these.

Hey guys! so with the hint of a road modding tool in the next DLC arriving, and presuming it's something like Network Extensions let's discuss what roads would be cool to add!

I've looked at the source code of Network Extensions and I've looked at their textures etc so I want to make a start at creating textures for roads. for that i need suggestions!
      Rules:
Use https://streetmix.net/new to visualise your road. I won't even consider ones that are just some random description For roads you want to zone on: use either 16m wide roads or 32m wide roads as those are the two widths that work with zoning. For highways you can use any width lanes for cars, trams, buses etc should be 3m in width. parking should be 2m wide sidewalks should be at least 2m wide (maybe 1.5m at the smallest) and this is for either side of the road, so at least 4m of sidewalk altogether! try and keep in mind that it's not about creating new types of prefabs like MOM, it's for reskinning like we do with Network Skins! Here's some examples of Vanilla Roads visualised in StreetMix
      a 16m Wide Basic Road:

And a 32m Wide Medium Road

You can click on the above links to be taken to a template in streetmix.
      Give me inspiration!
