About This File

MHW Total Retexture Mod version 1.2 - US textures

This mod is now included in the Network Addon Mod (from version 31 onwards)

What is the MHW Total Retexture Mod?

This mod will totally retexture your Maxis Highways to match any US styled textures. This will retexture every single Maxis highway texture, including the NAM interchanges.

Are there any issues?

Unfortunately, due to the way Maxis Highways are UV-assigned, there are some texture issues, mainly with the NAM interchanges. This cannot really be easily avoided from a texturer's point of view, but the current texture issues aren't really that serious.

If you happen to spot any other issues, please let me know.

How do I install this mod?

To install this mod, unzip the downloaded file to Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins

IMPORTANT: Ensure the included .dat file is INSIDE a folder in your Plugins, for example the path might be Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins/zz_folder-name/retexture.dat

If you have the NETWORK ADDON MOD v31 or higher...

I'd recommend that you install this texture mod using the Network Addon Mod's installer. If you didn't select it during your install, you can run the installer again without removing your existing installation, and tick the box which can be found in the Textures section.

I have an issue/question/request!

Please post in the Development and Support thread.

Dependencies

None!

Recommended Mods:

Network Addon Mod, available here.

Incompatible Mods:

This mod is incompatible with any other mod which alters the textures/models of the Maxis Highways, for example Project Symphony included in the Network Addon Mod, or any other Maxis Highway retexture mod.

Looking for a Euro version?

There's one available here.

Also...

There's also a version of this mod available which alters the Ground Maxis Highway models. Find it here.

Thanks, Sam.

Hello everyone, I have changed my display name as I work on stuff to release on to the exchanges.  Satoshi is a online nickname I use after the Japanese name for Ash Ketchum, by the way,  and not after the founder of blockchain and Bitcoin, the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto.
Anyways, I'm working on a few different things right now.  Have been experimenting with GoFSH and have I guess what would be better to call a  'rough draft' of a retexture of Paeng's Bicycle Paths using the highwealth texture from Catalyst's Asphalt Sidewalk Extension Mod.  I got the idea to start using this texture actually from @rsc204 and his addon to the Catalyst one. However, instead of Bicycle Paths I'm re-purposing them as more of an Urban Sidewalk to be used on custom lots and to be made into custom filler pieces.  The lots in the picture are the lots included with the Paeng Download and had been relotted by me a bit before I started the retexture, so sort of ignore the props because that is all going to change.
I'm also gonna link two pictures of the SuperSHK Parking relots that I'm doing.  This would be cool to eventually release with @kingofsimcity's permission as I used his repository and, I'm assuming, will adapt to whatever texture set up you would have in regards to that pack.
Lastly, work continues on the retaining walls I'm making using the prop from @Bipin's Concrete Retaining Walls.  But I was thinking as maybe my first BAT project, remaking if possible Bipin's prop and adding Diagonals and grafitti.  Probably a bit out of scope as I have no modeling experience but you gotta start somewhere? Again, that's a big maybe, and if I don't decide to do it will still be continuing with the Ortho pieces
In addition, I will be doing relots of BATs and if people like them I’ll try and release that too. The general focus of all these projects is creating urban settings with unified textures. Looking forward to moving forward with things for a first release of something!

Pegg Bank began as an experiment in city building using techniques that would prevent the Infinite Commuter Loop, an issue this Mayor has always dealt with.

Named for the Star in the Reasonably Priced Car on the episode of Top Gear at the time, Simon Pegg.

This coastal town began with 4 little towns in a surrounding region, only one being connected by a single road to the north.

The town began along the coast, focusing on Manufacturing industry. Soon the growth spread to commercial and more people began to move in.

Currently plaguing the city is the mass of commercial buildings that have taken over the majority of the coast. As seen in the photo above, it is the same time of building over and over.

How can this city move beyond this sprawl of commercial?
With hardly 20K sims living in Pegg Bank, upgrading to high density commercial is not an option at this point, even with the healthy budget with a surplus of at east a few thousand over expenses.

Residential areas are compact, with the majority of buildings being constructed on a 1x1 tile.

The residential developments are created in pods of 10x10 with roads or streets 2 tiles apart to lead the 1x1 homes to the main street down the middle. That main street will lead directly to the commercial (where the majority of sims work)

How can this small city expand, knowing that the majority of land area will go to commercial builders?
