About This File

6705176193_b1ac7627c8_n.jpg

This firestation was created to fill a gap in what we have for urban public services here in SimCity. The few firestations we do have suited for urban areas are often older and don't fit with more modern BAT styles. This is also my first building aside from suburban houses, so go easy on me. ;)

I hope you enjoy what I've included! I can guarantee though, it will be more enjoyable with a few dependencies:

looks correct but you didn't take account on physical laws (reflexion of glass mat in putting a ground map and the reflexion on roof junks are to proeminent)

Not sure what you mean about the glass, but if you mean adding a ground layer, I tried that but it gave everything a pink hue, even when invisible to final gather. Regarding the roof junk, they are supposed to be high-efficiency HVAC units, thus why they are reflective, to minimize heat absorption, and have those blue coatings they sometimes put on aluminum/tin objects on roofs.

Looks great, this will work well in a suburban area IMO as well. 5/5 for sure! :D

Thanks all for the comments, help decide on what's next! I'm thinking either an urban school, police station, clinic or power station. All of them are often BAT'd for non-urban areas, and I think that should change!

Looks so nice! I think nice, modern urban school would be great! Maybe a nice elementary and high school! Thanks so much!

I agree with Diamond, we need more Clinics for our cities...We actually have a few Fire Stations in my city (Amarillo,Tx) that look exactly like the one you designed...I give it a 5/5

I don't want to run the risk of getting banned, but this BAT is of such breathtakingly fresh design that I can't help but swear. Let's just say this work is schmucking gorgeous. It's so schmucking gorgeous that I can't think of what else to say. Finally, FINALLY, a truly contemporary urban design that ISN'T mid-century modern, that ISN'T conservative po-mo, that ISN'T ultra-modern glassy, that ISN'T amateur box crap. This looks like a modern fire station in Las Vegas. Or Houston. Or maybe Calgary, Atlanta, Sydney, Dover, Milan, etc. This is a shockingly fresh design for Simptropolis, and part of it's appeal for me is that it manages to be JUST generic enough to be realistic and yet JUST realistic enough to seem like a reproduction. You've done something that's quite simple and quite simply nucking futs, thanks a bunch Bipin.

And quite frankly I'd be happy with whatever you decide to do next, but if you're putting it out to the public I second a police station in a design that is in no way a copy of this but has every ounce of freshness and thoughtfulness as this one. Thanks again.

Thank you for the kind words everyone, espeically Bluthlucidity; you flatter me! :D It's down to either a police station (with about 5 cruisers) or small clinic (not a big hospital, just a small clinic with an ambulance or two). Let me know what you want to see, it'd be similar to: http://www.archimodes.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Wender-Police-Station-exterior-facade.jpg http://www.lscarchitecturalhardware.com.au/content/Image/article-image_nth-melb-police.jpg

This is what I have been searching for for ages! Thank you! :D Finally something not as ugly as the normal in-game stations. Thank you so much!
