-JD- replied to lopes8070's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I highly suggest you guys check out this Beta playthrough of SC2013 and watch it. It features live gameplay and commentary, which could sway your opinions of the game. He has a press pass and premission from EA to post videos of this beta. -

My hope for the evolution of SC13
-JD- replied to VeritaScientia's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I do actually love this idea. I don't think they will make completely separate games however, rather expansion packs similar the The Sims series. -
While I wouldn't advocate playing SimCity on a tablet regardless, they have no choice but to make the game compatible with Windows 8. When it releases this month, it will be on millions or even tens of millions computers by February. Their hand has been forced in this regard

Can I move my SC 4 stuff do a different computer?
-JD- replied to Harden's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Just install your game as normal on the other computer, copy the SimCity 4 folder from the My Documents folder from the old computer onto a flashdrive (4 to 8 gigs should be good), and then copy the folder from the flashdrive to the My Documents folder on the new computer and select "Replace files" on the screen that should pop up. -

-JD- replied to Vampirovibrio's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
[Deleted post] Back on topic; I love love love the vertical wind farm structures. Such a simple and elegant solution for power generation The interaction between the University and utilities is also an interesting addition that I rather like. -
An open plea to everyone critical of Maxis

Am I the only one that feels that the hate being spewed towards SC5 is starting to become somewhat ridiculous? -
Alarming tile size discovery. Its really 1 km x 1 km
-JD- replied to alex macnamara's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Did anyone ever care to think that the tiles may be surrounded by fields so your city tile could buy the land and expand its borders? -
I'm sad because I can't install The Sims 2 on Windows 8...

and yes that is another but a minor reason imo for i think the Windows phone like interface is ugly The funny thing is, I can run SimCity 4 just as well, if not better on the Windows 8 Release Preview than on Windows 7 I suggest you do some more research to be sure you are not talking about Windows RT which is more restricted as far as programs, but is specialized for only a few devices. If you guys have any questions you'd like to ask to some that has been running Windows 8 for several months, feel free to ask!
