  1. Passenger Ferry Terminal V1

    Version 1.0.0

Passenger Ferry Terminal V1, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- While I quite like the look of the Maxis Passenger Ferry Terminal, and I also like the fact that both passenger ferries and car/passenger ferries are far and away the cheapest and most efficient form of public transit that never suffers from congestion...but after 15 years of seeing the same ferry buildings in game, it's time for an upgrade. This is the second of three fictional buildings which I made for just that purpose. This unimaginatively named passenger ferry building is a new lot and it does not replace or interfere with the in-game building (or any of my other ferry lots). It can be used in conjunction with the Maxis passenger ferry terminal or any other similarly modded passenger ferries available. This ferry is also easier to place along the shore line - if you have ever placed the in-game version, you will have no problems using this lot as the principles are identical. Additionally, it uses standard maxis pavement textures (rather than a batted base like the in game version) so the lot will blend in with any sidewalk mods that you have. Just like the in-game lot, this lot must be placed adjacent to a street/road and it also must be placed across both land and water. Ferry buildings are a great alternative/supplement to bridges, and I use them to ease congestion on the road network. It is crucial to note the Passenger Ferry Terminal is a separate network from the Car Ferry Terminal. Ferries that leave from a passenger ferry terminal do not use a car ferry terminal and vice versa. Now, this is no different from the function in the vanilla rush-hour game, but as there are so few custom ferry terminals available for download, it is important to point out. Therefore, I recommend placing this at least twice in any city tile (on opposite shorelines) and in a neighbouring city connected by water to get the most use. It is also important to note that ferries do not work if the water is too shallow, bridges too low, or if the edges of your cities and waterways are at wildly differing elevations. It has similar stats in terms of capacity and monthly cost to the Maxis Passenger Ferry Terminal, but provides a few more jobs. The other thing about this series of passenger ferries is that they will conform to 90%, if not all of, the available seawall sets: as long as the seawall set has left/right overhanging lots (which are typically used as under-bridge lots) and are not too wide or deep, then they will function perfectly so you can keep a uniform look to your seawalls and not be forced to pick one that I choose. Obviously the passenger ferry building is found in the water transit section of the transportation menu and crucially it can only be placed in a city where in-game water is present; it does not work on canals or ploppable water. --------------------------------------- STATS: Lot size : 2x3 (to be placed on land and water) Plop Cost: §100 Bulldoze Cost: §20 Occupant Groups: Transportation, Strikable Transit, Ferry, Passenger Ferry, Water Transit Catalog Capacity: 800 Wealth: Medium Wealth Demand Created: Jobs§§§: 0, Jobs§§: 1, Jobs§: 4. Pollution: Air 1 over 1 tiles, Water 1 over 1 tiles, Garbage 1 over 0 tiles Power consumed: 4 MwH Water consumed: 12 Gallons/Month Monthly cost: §20 --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: This download contains TWO file types in two seperate folders; one for dark nite users (and other night-time darkening mods, such as Gizmos night-mod) and one for the standard Maxis nite. You must choose only one file - depending on which version you use. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. (http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23089-simfox-day-and-nite-modd/) --------------------------------------- DEPENDENCIES: There are no dependencies for this lot. However, if you are new to using passenger ferries, I would recommend Vester's (do a search at SC4devotion) mods which will give you lots of different ferry automata options and make your water ways quite lively. --------------------------------------- To install, simply unzip the contents of this file into your plugins folder.

This second, optional set of eleven optional 32m and 48m dockland piers contains several pieces with street access and jobs. Further to these sets there are additional optional Warehouse Lots, a Dockland Ferry, and a Dockland Rail Freight Depot available separately. Like all dockland pieces, they contain timed props and thus use the same set of WMP dependencies. The download contains individual lots rather than a combined DAT, so you can pick and choose which to install. All pieces are self-leveling and will lower the terrain similar to other harbour lots. Note: The two resource files (WMP_Dummies.dat & WMP_RDock_Resource.DAT) are included with each set but are required only once. Optional 32m & 48m docks: Lot sizes: 2 x 2 tiles; 2x3 tiles, 3x3 tiles; Menu position: Water Transit Jobs: varied (see below) Plop cost: varied Bulldoze cost: varied Monthly cost: § 10 ea. Power Usage: varied Water Usage: varied Pollution: Water: 3 over 4 tiles; Garbage: 32 over 4 tiles ea. Job Details: 48m Warehouse A - IM: 18 48m Warehouse B - IM: 22 Fertilizer Filling - IM: 8 Crane Pier - IM: 5 Dependencies: Note: If you already downloaded the dependencies for the Docklands Base Set you do NOT need these again! To ensure the proper functionality, make sure the files mentioned below are installed in your plugins folder. WMP Dependencies - you do need all of them: * wmp_ferry_props01.dat * wmp_power_props01.dat * wmp_rdock_docks01.dat (for 16m docks & corners) * wmp_rdock_docks02.dat (for 32/48m docks) * wmp_rdock_props01.dat * wmp_rdock_props02.dat * wmp_rdock_vehicles.dat * wmp_texture07.dat (contains pathing exemplars) External Dependencies: * BSC Mega Props - JES Vol01.dat * BSC Mega Props - JES Vol04.dat * BSC Mega Props - JES Vol06.dat Credits: Thanks to everyone around the Pegasus site & teams; as always, Dave for his patience with testing this stuff; NBVC and Murimk for their GMax advice. Credits also go to Max Grueter for his Working Class Heroes, and the number of anonymous creators at the 3D Warehouse. Problems? If you have problems with this lot it is most likely that you did not download all the dependencies or - just as likely - that we made a mistake. You can contact us via email at comments@workingman-productions.co.uk. Best include a screen-shot illustrating the problem.

The first base set contains thirteen 16m wide 1x2 lots, plus two 2x2 IC lots with jobs, and two 2x2 OC lots. The second, optional set of eleven optional 32m and 48m dockland piers contains several pieces with street access and jobs. Further to these sets there are additional optional Warehouse Lots, a Dockland Ferry, and a Dockland Rail Freight Depot available separately. The download contains individual lots rather than a combined DAT, so you can pick and choose which to install. All pieces are self-levelling and will lower the terrain similar to other harbour lots. Download sizes are due to the entire project having been rendered in HD. Note: The two resource files (WMP_Dummies.dat & WMP_RDock_Resource.DAT) are included with each set but are required only once. WMP Truck Ferry, by DocRorlach The third ferry in our series contains two lots, sharing several local dependencies (all available from this site): * WMP Truck & Car Ferry (8x5) This is the game's first large-scale ferry port and the first aimed entirely at streets. It acts as a standard car & passenger ferry, but at 8x5 takes up a fair bit of space and is best suited for industrial areas. It comes with a separate truck parking lot, featuring time truck and car queues as well as timed parked cars. * WMP Truck Parking (8x3) The parking lot is meant as a complement to the ferry lot itself, and ideally sits across the street. It uses the same trucks and cars, plus some extra, timed queues, but has neither jobs nor other functions. Best placement for the ferry lot is on a gentle, sloping area of the waterfront. We recomend that you do not terraform for it, but let the ferry lot settle the terrain. Lot Details: Lot Size: Truck Ferry: 8x5; Parking Lot: 8x3 Plop Cost: Truck Ferry: § 2,450; Parking Lot: § 495 Bulldoze Cost: Truck Ferry: § 1,100; Parking Lot: § 300 Power Consumed: Truck Ferry: 80 MW/month; Parking Lot: 24 MW/month Water Consumed: Truck Ferry: 45 gallons/month; Parking Lot: 5 gallons/month Jobs: Truck Ferry: C$: 45, C$$: 25, C$$$: 15; Parking Lot: none Ferry Type: Car & Passenger Capacity: 5,000 Dependencies: To ensure the proper functionality, make sure the files mentioned below are installed in the plugins folder. Dependencies for the different ferry types vary only slightly - you only need to download each dependency once. * wmp_ferry_props01.dat * wmp_cars_props02.dat * wmp_power_props01.dat * wmp_texture05.dat * wmp_texture06.dat (included in main download) Credits: While the usual thanks go out to everyone around the Pegasus site & teams and to Dave for his patience with testing this stuff, this project would have not been possible without the creative efforts of quite a lot of people in the 3D modelling world: First off, there is Max Grueter in Switzerland, whose Working Class Heroes are found on all the ferry lots; for the trucks and cars I owe thanks to a whole slew of designers: Jost, jrn91, anonymous, col1, mike409, mclarenman, banamana, sandman, mago, williamT, matt372, and poolboy. Special thanks must also be offered to Murimk, who really started this nightmarish project with his suggestions & critiques, and who provided the timed props. Problems? If you have problems with this lot it is most likely that you did not download all the dependencies or - just as likely - that we made a mistake. You can contact us via email at comments@workingman-productions.co.uk. Best include a screen-shot illustrating the problem. If you downloaded this ferry before August 30, 2011 and found a brown box on either the parking lot or the ferry, please download the wmp_truckferry_fix.zip. No need to bulldoze or replop.

WMP Street Ferry, by DocRorlach The second in our Ferry Port Series is a simple ferry with street access, meant primarily for rural areas. We left the green parts of it deliberatly blank so anyone can plop whichever trees or bushes they prefer. Parked vehicles are timed props and only appear at certain times during the day. Best placement for this ferry is on a gentle, sloping area of the waterfront. We recomend that you do not terraform for it, but let the ferry lot settle the terrain. A moment of reflective silence please as we mourn the death of the PEG CSK2. ..... ..... [sigh]..... Now... let's celebrate the rebirth of the CSK2 as the new PPond Canal Kit !!. The entire collection of variable-width CSK2 Canal Kit lots have been remodeled to use the new PPond style water. Not only does this allow you to seamlessly transition PPond rivers and lakes with canals.... but now you can also use any of the CSK2 specialty lots... like the Docks, Bridges, Extender lots and the Small Port... anywhere along a PPond river or lake. If the significance of this has not yet struck home... let's clarify. We just added a ton of double-duty new PPond lots to your toy box... without adding a zillion and one new menu icons. The PPond Kit just got about 4 times larger... and now includes a fully integrated Canal System, Industrial Docks and a functional Seaport that can be used along any PPond ploppable waterway. The Scows, the Barges, the functional Water Taxis... they're all now available for use with the PPond Kit. Freak out. * Most of the CSK2 specialty lots do not have the canal concrete side walls... and can therefore be used and blend in with the natural-looking banks of PPond rivers and lakes. This single download replaces all of the previous CSK2 files... except for the Small Port and the various bridge lots. Once installed, any CSK2 lots installed in your cities are updated automatically. You will not need to replop the lots... with a few exceptions for some of the specialty lots. The lot's menu icons remain the same &. in the same menu locations you are accustomed to. This new PPond Canal Kit directly replaces the following files... which can be deleted: * CSK2 * CSK2 Add-On * CSK2 Fountains * CSK2 Docks (Re-plop Lots) * CSK2 Water Taxis (Re-plop Lots & Reconnect Subway Tunnels) * CSK2 Annabellelin Restaurant (Re-plop Lots. Keep the RESOURCE file) This new PPond Canal Kit does not change the following files... which you should keep: * CSK2 Scows * CSK2 Random Traffic * CSK2 Small Port (Re-plop Lots) * The CSK2 Lift Bridges and 3x Bridge kits will be updated separately and should also be retained for now. The Locks are also scheduled to go under the knife. Patches/Updates to certain files will be released separately. * The single tile width CSK Canals will not be remodeled to be compatible with the PPond system. However, included as a separate file with this package is a new CSK Flood Gate transition lot that can be used to blend the original CSK Canals to the new PPond Canals. Once installed, the new transition lot will appear in your Water Transportation menu along with the other CSK lots. If you do not use the CSK single-width Canals, you can remove the file once installed. ** These lots require the following: PEG PPond Kit PEG CSK Barges All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here. -Cori Edit: Made dep linkys clickable.
  7. Hong Kong Marina Wall

    Version 2.0

The Hong Kong/ Asia BAT Team Presents Hong Kong Marina Wall Model, Modding / Lotting, Custom Menu Icons & Readme – Cockatoo. Overview: To add to the realism of your Asian harbour cities, I’ve created a Hong Kong marina set. This download contains 1 Plopable Marina Wall. It has been fully tested by me, and there is absolutely no water graphics bug or missing base texture bug on this lot, I’ve properly removed all the base textures in the reader so you won’t experience any problems. Further more, you don’t even need to connect this lot to a power supply to see the night-lighting. I’ve also made the foundations invisible, so it can be placed over a coastline (on the beach) and you won’t get any of those ugly lot foundations showing up. This lot was designed to have little to no impact on the surrounding city. It doesn’t use any Power or Water; it doesn’t generate Garbage or any type of Pollution and is doesn’t have any Occupants. The stats are as follows: Monthly Cost: §15 Plop Cost: §100 Bulldoze Cost: §100 Flammability: 10 (Stage 1) Park Effect: 30 / 50 tiles Landmark Effect: 20 / 5 tiles Menu Position: Water Transit (grouped together near top) Dependencies: None, everything is included. However I highly recommended that you use one of PEG’s water mods, so you can see the under-water parts of some of these lots. The standard game water is not translucent enough. DLL DEPENDENCIES: In order for the contents of this package to display correctly by taking advantage of the new DLL Mods requires the complete installation of the following dependencies (the below listed dependencies are covering a full install): Submenus DLL - You need it to get the package submenu working. Compatible only with the digital version (1.1.641) of SimCity 4 (Microsoft Windows and Linux only). Installation: Copy and paste HKBAT Folder How to Use: If you haven’t already gotten the Junker Ship Pack and the Marina Dock Pack, go get them now. Around your coastline, or wherever you want to place these, make sure your water is fairly shallow, about this depth. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p11/ParrotsSC4Photos/HowToUse1.jpg Select the marina wall and position it somewhere out to sea, and then add your docks somewhere around it. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p11/ParrotsSC4Photos/HowToUse2.jpg Complete your marina. The marina wall can also be used as a land / sea wall. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p11/ParrotsSC4Photos/HowToUse3.jpg Then you can add in the Junker ships, just plop them anywhere around the marina or even on the beach if you want to. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p11/ParrotsSC4Photos/HowToUse4.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p11/ParrotsSC4Photos/HowToUse5.jpg If you have any problems with these BAT’s, please send Cockatoo-210893 a private message at https://www.simtropolis.com/index.cfm. 8. Hong Kong Marina Dock Pack

The Hong Kong/ Asia BAT Team Presents Hong Kong Marina Dock Pack Model, Modding / Lotting, Custom Menu Icons & Readme – Cockatoo. Overview: To add to the realism of your Asian harbour cities, I’ve created a Hong Kong marina set. This download contains 2 Plopable Marina Docks. They have been fully tested by me, and there is absolutely no water graphics bug or missing base texture bug on these lots, I’ve properly removed all the base textures in the reader so you won’t experience any problems. Further more, you don’t even need to connect these lots to a power supply to see the night-lighting. I’ve also made the foundations invisible, so they can be placed over a coastline (on the beach) and you won’t get any of those ugly lot foundations showing up. These lots were designed to have little to no impact on the surrounding city. They don’t use any Power or Water; they don’t generate Garbage or any type of Pollution and they don’t have any Occupants. Both lots have the same stats... Installation: Copy and paste HKBAT Folder How to Use: If you haven’t already gotten the Junker Ship Pack and the Marina Wall, go get them now. The Hong Kong/ Asia BAT Team Presents Hong Kong Junker Ship Pack Model, Modding / Lotting, Custom Menu Icons & Readme – Cockatoo. Some real life images... Overview: To add to the realism of your Asian harbour cities, I’ve created a Hong Kong marina set. This download contains 6 Plopable Junker Ships, similar to those found in Victoria Harbour, HK. They have been fully tested by me, and there is absolutely no water graphics bug or missing base texture bug on these lots, I’ve properly removed all the base textures in the reader so you won’t experience any problems. Further more, you don’t even need to connect these lots to a power supply to see the night-lighting.
