Passenger Ferry Terminal V3, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- A "ye olde worlde" style ferry terminal for your cities. While I quite like the look of the Maxis Passenger Ferry Terminal, and I also like the fact that both passenger ferries and car/passenger ferries are far and away the cheapest and most efficient form of public transit that never suffers from congestion...but after 15 years of seeing the same ferry buildings in game, it's time for an upgrade. This is the last of four fictional buildings which I made for just that purpose. This passenger ferry building is a new lot and it does not replace or interfere with the in-game building (or any of my other ferry lots). It can be used in conjunction with the Maxis passenger ferry terminal or any other similarly modded passenger ferries available. This ferry is also easy to place along the shore line - if you have ever placed the in game version, you will have no problems using this lot as the principles are identical. Additionally, it uses standard maxis pavement textures (rather than a batted base like the in game version) so the lot will blend in with any sidewalk mods that you have. Just like the in-game lot, this lot must be placed adjacent to a street/road and it also must be placed across both land and water. Ferry buildings are a great alternative/supplement to bridges, and I use them to ease congestion on the road network and a ferry terminal helps stop the 'no job' zot that often plagues residential areas by providing a super fast mode of travel. It is crucial to note the Passenger Ferry Terminal is a separate network from the Car Ferry Terminal. Ferries that leave from a passenger ferry terminal do not use a car ferry terminal and vice versa. Now, this is no different from the function in the vanilla rush-hour game, but as there are so few custom ferry terminals available for download, it is important to point out. Therefore, I recommend placing this at least twice in any city tile (on opposite shorelines) and in a neighbouring city connected by water to get the most use. It is also important to note that ferries do not work if the water is too shallow, bridges too low, or if the edges of your cities and waterways are at wildly differing elevations. It has similar stats in terms of capacity and monthly cost to the Maxis Passenger Ferry Terminal, but provides more jobs. This old-world, brick and stone terminal building is slightly larger than the other ferry buildings I have released and visually looks more suited to denser older-style environments. I say visually, because ferry terminals don't suffer from congestion unlike other modes of transport. The other thing about this series of passenger ferries is that they will conform to 90%, if not all of, the available seawall sets: as long as the seawall set has left/right overhanging lots (which are typically used as under-bridge lots) and are not too wide or deep, then they will function perfectly so you can keep a uniform look to your seawalls and not be forced to pick one that I choose. Obviously the passenger ferry building is found in the water transit section of the transportation menu and crucially it can only be placed in a city where in-game water is present; it does not work on canals or ploppable water. --------------------------------------- STATS: Lot size : 2x4 (to be placed on land and water) Plop Cost: §200 Bulldoze Cost: §30 Occupant Groups: Transportation, Strikable Transit, Ferry, Passenger Ferry, Water Transit Catalog Capacity: 900 Wealth: Medium Wealth Demand Created: Jobs§§§: 1, Jobs§§: 12, Jobs§: 17. I'd like to know if Ferry Terminals could be used as a means of transportation within the city itself.

Short description: I’ve frequently been bothered by the fact that the default Maxis ferry terminal (for cars and passengers) is only transit enabled for two roads instead of an avenue. Although this is only a little annoyance, I’ve modified it to add two extra ferry terminals transit enabled for avenue and one-way roads, respectively, since I'm considering this way the better. Both work the same way as the default ferry terminal from the game, and costs and all other values are the same. They are to be found in the seaport menu. This plugin does not replace or overwrite the default Maxis ferry terminal. All ferry terminals that you’ve already built will still work and will not be affected by this plugin. Dependencies: This plugin doesn't require external dependencies. Currently available languages: English German (This only refers to the description and the readmes; the item names have not changed and therefore are available in all languages that SimCity 4 has been released so far.) Installation: Download the archive and extract all files to a folder where you will find them. Move or copy this folder into your Plugins sub-folder of your edition of SimCity 4 (for instance: C:/Programs/Maxis/SimCity 4/Plugins). You can simply overwrite any previous version of this plugin with the new files. To uninstall, please delete all files from your plugin subfolder. Note, if you have installed version 1: Please remove all previous files from this plugin before installing the new version. You do not need to bulldoze ferry terminals that you have already built. Reason: Some file names have been changed, and there’s now a multilingual version available which makes the current language files obsolete. This plugin comes in several languages. Please look into the folder “Languages“ and manually delete all files except the one with the language you want to have displayed as game text (e.g. for English: FerryTerminalAvenue_Description_English). not necessary anymore Compatibility: This plugin is only compatible with SimCity 4: Rush Hour or SimCity Deluxe. Support: Please feel free to post issues, bug reports, and suggestions in this thread:- 18 Comments

Our fourth and final foray into the realm of CDK Ferries is the granddaddy of them all; a large, centralized double-capacity Ferry Terminal. It will handle twice the volume (at almost twice the price) and also serves as the command center for your entire ferry fleet. The lot plops CDK style and is designed primarily for stand-alone use. However, it does look good when mixed in with other CDK styled lots. Like our first 2 CDK ferry landings, it sits on a 4x3 lot and is transit enabled for avenues. This is not a replacement for the original in-game ferry and can freely be used with any other functional ferry terminal or landing. In contrast to the original terminal, the CDK Ferry Terminal does not protrude several tiles out into the water. As the water depth is generally shallower nearer the shore, care must be taken to ensure that the water depth is deep enough for the ferry to operate. If it is not, the ferry will not function. ( * see ReadMe file Developer's Notes for more details) ** Special thanks to BarbyW, Andreas, Blackbeard, ParadiseFarm, & Swamper77 for their assistance during the development of this project. ** Use of the CDK Leveler Tool is recommended for use with all CDK lots. **The PEG CDK Ferry Central Terminal requires the installation of the PEG CDK-SV_PlazaPak1 All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here. -

A wise warrior once said, "The best kill... is Overkill !!" And so... we continue the CDK ferry trend with this latest variation designed for the CDK Industrial style. This is a fully functional, new ferry terminal. It does not replace the original game ferry terminal and can freely be used with any other ferry terminal or landing. This new Ferry Landing is reduced in size... a mere 3 tile wide by 2 tiles deep to blend in better with other CDK-IND lots. This version also reverts back to a simple road connection that pulls double duty as both entrance and exit. All other properties and capacities are the same as the game's default car ferry. In contrast to the original terminal, the Ferry Landing is a CDK lot which does not protrude several tiles out into the water. The PEG CDK-IND Ferry Landing is designed for use with the PEG CDK Industrial style. However, it does not have any external dependencies and can be used stand-alone.
