BRM Shop, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- Some time ago, I was sent some images of Maxis' SC2013 concept art as a request and this was amongst them. I liked the look of the orange multi-triangular arrangement of the storefront: and, as SC4 is all about roof-tops, something like this yields a lot of visual interest. I don't actually know what 'BRM' stands for (Big Retail Module?)...perhaps you can come up with something amusing/amazing/enlightened... This is a CS$$ bat that will grow early on in your cities development stage provided you have sufficient demand. It provides 174 jobs. It comes in two different lot sizes: 4x4 and 6x6 (use the CTRL key while zoning to help get this to grow, or download Buggis extra cheats to make it ploppable from a drop-down menu). It grows on the three American tilesets. --------------------------------------- STATS: Lot Size: 4x4 and 6x6 Growth Stage: 1 Zone Type: Low, Medium and High Density Bulldoze Cost: $193 Demand Satisfied: CS$ 687; CS$$ 174. Pollution at Centre: 6 (air) /4 (water) /8 (garbage) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 14 Mwh Water Consumed: 168 Gallons Occupant Groups: Commercial Services; Chicago; New York; Houston --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: This download contains TWO model files; one is for dark nite users (and other night-time darkening mods, such as Gizmos or Mashty's night-mod) and one for the standard Maxis nite. You must select and install only one file - depending on which night version you use. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. Bauhaus Mannheim, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- With the slogan "erhalten Sie alles was Sie brauchen, wenn's gut werden muss!" (Get everything you need, when it's good), Bauhaus is a chain of home-improvement box stores, similar to Bunnings in Australia, or B&Q in the UK, or Home Depot in the USA. I was actually looking for source material for the REAL Bauhaus in Dessau as I intend to BAT it, and when the image of a box store in Mannheim appeared with quasi-architectural nods to Gropius, it was just so, so wrong on so, so many levels, that I couldn't resist batting it. That aside, this very boxy building itself isn't too bad and I rather like the exposed girders on the upper terrace and the double panes of glass that make the windows look like retro cathode-ray TV sets. It's a little tacky, but it's different and there is not much similar in game. Surprisingly, on a 4x4 lot, in game this building is actually really useful as an end piece to a typical W2W set of streets (as per the images) where the layout is back-to-back 1x2 rows: it caps the whole street off rather well. Of course it works in a non-W2W as well. The building comes in a growable CS§§ 4x4 lot. It grows on all tilesets and in my opinion works equally well in a Euro or US environment, and I always have insatiable CS demand in my regions, so given that this will soak up almost 800 CS§§, that's a good thing. --------------------------------------- STATS CS§§: Lot size : 4x4 Growth Stage: 6 (Medium and High Density Zoning) Bulldoze Cost: § 434 Capacity Satisfied:CS§ 3,177 CS§§ 797 Pollution: 29 (Air)/ 19 (Water)/ 39 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 64 Mwh Water Consumed: 766 Gal/Month Building Style: Chicago/NY/Houston/Euro Occupant Group: Medium Wealth Commercial Services Building --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: There are two model files in this download. You must select the appropriate file from the download. The file suffixed with 'DN' is for those users with a night-time darkening mod installed. The file suffixed with 'MN' is for users who do not have any such mods installed. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. The Bon Marche, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- The Bon Marche (or the 'Good Market' / 'Good Deal' depending on how loose your translation is) was a department store chain launched in Seattle, WA. By the time it has been taken over by Macy's in 2005, it had about 50 stores in the North-West of the US. The Bon Marche really had its heyday from the late 1960's - 1990's. Many of the buildings went on to become anchor stores for surrounding mall developments. This building is a retro styled department store that was a similar design to many of their buildings around Washington state. Given they were purpose built spaces, Macy's thankfully didn't bulldoze the structures when they took over the chain and the buildings still stand today. I have provided two CS§§ lots with this download - one is a 4x4 lot that is great for down-town areas and the other is a 6x6 lot more suited to a suburban application. Use the CTRL while zoning to assist growth. Stats, links and dependencies are listed below. --------------------------------------- STATS (CS§§) FOR ALL LOTS: Growth Stage: 1 & 3 (low, medium and high density zones) Bulldoze Cost: § 288 Capacity Satisfied: CS§ 1,553 | CS§§ 391 Pollution: 14 (Air)/ 9 (Water)/ 19 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 32 Mwh Water Consumed: 376 Gal/Month Building Style: Chicago / NewYork / Houston / Euro Occupant Group: Commercial Services Building --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: This download contains TWO model files; one for dark nite users (and other night-time darkening mods, such as Gizmos night-mod) and one for the standard Maxis nite. You must keep only one file - depending on which version you use. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. Regardless of which file you choose to keep, make sure you DO NOT delete the Lot or Desc files! If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. Schuamberg is a mid sized suburb 15 miles northeast of downtown Pittsburgh. Today it stands as the leading center for retail and business. Schuamberg is home to the Pittsburgh Center Mall, the first Wal mart supercenter, sams club, home depot, and many other famous chain stores and restuarants. I-376 also cuts through the city, and heads due east towards the Capilano valley Mountains. Interchange between I-376 and Mountain Blvd, which connects to Capilano blvd or old highway 76. Lowes built there first store in 2011 shortly after the land value shot up in this section of the city. Intense competition from Home Depot keeps these stores thriving. In this picture below, you can see Walmart and Target are the anchors to each side of the shopping centers. Many financial and advisor companies like fisk financial and lundmark advisor trading (big office tower in the center of the photo) have made this once sleepy suburb their home. Orginally located in downtown they moved out due tot he overwhelming travel times for many workers. Capilano Valley Center Located off Capilano Blvd. Capilano Valley Center is the second largest shopping mall in the valley. Built in 1988 with three department stores: Sears, Hechts, and Nordstrom. In 1999 a pizzeria was built on the east end of the center. Today the shooping center has overgrown its original boundaries and now spreads for a few miles in each direction along Capilano Blvd. and Mountain Blvd. Highland Community College (located ont he bottom left hand side of the photo) opened its doors after construction finished in 2011. The Arizona based company opened its east coast headquarters in Pittsburgh just a few months prior to opening. Their office can be seen in the current downtown photo located along I-176 blvd not far from the Chase tower where they do their banking. Highalnd community college prides itself in being a clean, affordable, and challenging college experience. The main degrees range from business, to architecture, thanks to the last minute plans to add a seperate, but adjacent building, accoutning, pre med, pre dentistry, pre law, and manufacturing degrees.
